I have been playing FFXII for several hours now, and while it took me a bit of time to get into it and to understand what especially the combat system is really about (basically programming your own party AI and watching it work), I am now getting into it and having fun. 
What I really like about XII and what I really missed in XV is a properly told story, explored characters and general exposition. Even if the battle system were garbage, I'd still enjoy the epic tale that unfolds before me.

Oh so you got it, Well I hope you enjoy it. Now you can experience the best character in FF history... Fran... It's Fran just in case you didn't realize.
The battle system is debatable since it's using a older ATB gauge, however you will gain it's true potential later in the game when you unlock more of the refined skills. Quickenings, summons, roles etc.
It's a fun game when you pass the early portions. More of the story will be explained later on that wasn't properly early on.

Meanwhile, I've been playing FFVII since its 20 years old now.
This is the first time I've played it start to finish since I originally beat it 5 years ago... I don't remember how to do most of the stuff lol I had to look up the dialogue choices to get Yuffie a.k.a. best girl

Kingdom Hearts III will officially be set for 2018. Toy Story is one of the new worlds.
Curious which FF characters will be in as well as returning. Enough of the Cloud vs Sephiroth squabble, we need new to see Warrior of Light, Cecil, or Kain in KH. For bonus, throw in someone from Chrono Trigger as a secret superboss after endgame quests since Square originally wanted that.

It's crazy what games are all scheduled for 2018. Just the ones that I am excited for:
God of War
Spider Man

If they all cost the the usual 69€ here I only would have to pay 621€ to buy them all, that's 712$. XD

So it looks like KHIII's party members will have guest slots. In the older games you needed to replace Goofy or Donald with one of the story ones if you wanted to have them on your team. I saw an image on Twitter where Buzz Lightyear was a 4th party member in battle for KHIII like 10 minutes ago. I remember being quite hype that Auron was selectable back then.

I'm digging that Toy Sora design, I'm liking it as much as Timeless River Sora, which is my favorite. Guess I just like the more cartoonish versions of him lol.
I certainly didn't like replacing Donald and Goofy for a guest member in the past games.
Oh, pretty sure we'll see Lightning (or even Noctis) xD
Yeah, from the trailer it looks like you can have more than 1 guest (which is suprising), it shows both Buzz and Woody in the party, along with Donald and Goofy.

Ack, Lightning. This actually sounds pretty believable since it's the newest trends. Noctis I'm neutral with and somewhat can be believable (he's still new), but some of the past FF character makes the most sense of it all.
Warrior of "Light" - That is pretty is spot on within the game's original concept.
Cecil - Light and Darkness etc.
Beatrix, Quistis, Laguna just to throw in there for new potential etc. (Everyone else from the previous games could stay probably)
I guess they can put Sephiroth again as the secret optional superboss, but I've actually grown tired seeing this man.
A 5th!? wow! totally did not see that coming. Heck, I'm all in for it.

KH3 will have Lightning, she's one of the most popular characters in FF history. Not as popular as Cloud, FIFA, Squall etc. But she's still in the top 10.
Why else would they stick her in everything? Popular characters sell, even if they're disliked by most of a different region.

Bought Final Fantasy XII on release, it seemed cool but I really hated the jaggies and lines everywhere. Now I'm playing it was a fresh coat of paint and it's way better.

And I found out the silhouette was really an amalgam of multiple character portraits of the remaining original antagonists to keep us guessing.
