Even the steam page is already up
http://store.steampowered.com/app/485510/Nioh_Complete_Edition___Complete_Edition/

no price yet though… really wondering, if they will try to sell it for $49.99, or basically start throwing it away for $39.99 from the get go, anyway doubt they will sell much more than 200k copies, before it goes on sale for the first time. I wonder, if they will remove Strength PvP completely, otherwise the cheating will be strong in this one. Also 100GB disk space, those 4K textures man.

It seems complete edition is ONLY on Steam though... As someone who hasn't bought Nioh yet, I'd like a complete version as well lol

Guess I'll have to wait for the Deluxe Edition to go on a PSN sale

I mean, the game is worth the max price for deluxe. But if it does go on sale or a price reduction then you could wait yeah.

So, do I finish up the last two DLC trophies on PS4, or do I wait for the PC version? Hm...

I kinda have a thing where I'd rather not spend £50+ on a game I don't even do that for games I really like.

Its why I buy physical discs and not digital after all. Plus as much as I liked Nioh betas its still not really a game I can see myself paying full price, if it was I would have already bought it

Started farming Hayabusa tonight. Need a divine hand armor and I'll have it all on divine. Might actually play through higher difficulties after that. The final boss was much easier than I thought it'd be.

Is anyone playing The Abyss and remembers the Smithing Text from Level 45? I took notes on all of them, but on this one I zoned out and just wrote “Smiting Text” lol

I think it was just a consumable, nothing important, but I'd still like to know… Level 50 is Swordsmith's Hammer which is great since it has fixed inherit + value, seems there is no armor equivalent though (but it appears the trait is common enough in the 40+ Levels).

There also seems to be random Smithing Text drops old stuff you couldn't craft till now. I got one for Bastard Sword and one of the previously Revenant exclusive Kawari Kabuto.

So can you turn a divine (green) weapon into an ethereal (orange) weapon through the desecration system? And if so, what level range should you start it at and what level should you retrieve it at?

Yes the chances are pretty high actually, like 80% I'd say if you increase the defiled items bonus to 3 on a piece of gear.

The floors and the gear you can obtain are roughly equivalent to the difficulties in the game
1-10 Wot Samurai/Strong, gear up to 160(+10)
11-20 WotD, up to 210(+20)
21-30 WotW, up to 260(+30), Ethereals start to drop
31+ WotN, up to base Level 310, + Level starts at +35ish and keeps slowly rising to around +135 at 999 (the last floor), Enemy Attack and Defense keeps rising but seems to stay in line with the gear drops.

You have to clear the respective difficulty, or the game won't let you advance further e.g. I think if you haven't cleared WotS it won't let you past Level 5 in the Abyss, certainly not past 10.

So bascially if you want Ethereals you have to leave with your gear at floor 31 or above, you have to leave at higher floors if you want higher + Level (the 50+ floors are still below 40 though).

However it appears that leaving at certain floors only yields certain Grace bonuses from defilement. That's either good or bad news depending on how you look at it… atm details are pretty much unkown, which floor yields which grace bonuses, if it's tied to the floor number, or the boss, how many levels you completed etc.
Though if you only want an ethereal version of set gear, that's obviously not relevant.

I guess that's good enough for a basic introduction…

edit: fixed Level caps

Oh, nice. Smithing texts are actually relevant again.

I'll have to try that with my Hayabusa set next time I hop on.

So after 130 Levels of The Abyss… I think the boss distribution is pretty odd, since they are hand placed and not random. For instance there is only one Mysterious Samurai from Level 1-110 and the Levels 111-120 contain him 3 times, or you fight the same boss almost back to back (Boss A, Boss B, Boss A again). Doesn't really matter in the end, but I think they could spread the bosses they have more evenly. The first Jin Hayabusa is at Level 124, by then you fought other bosses up to 8 times…

Looks like the last fixed Smithing Text is at Level 108 (first Dual Boss fight). It's the Frolicking Cat Kabuto and like the Blacksmith's Hammer only used to upgrade you gear, since it has fixed “Inherit + Value”.

Given that there are still a few issues with The Abyss (I think Yokai Realm with a Companion still doesn't work properly and you can do some weird stuff with defilement), I'd assume there will be (at least) on more patch for the PS4 when the complete edition (in Japan) comes out. Anyone thinks they will make some changes to the base game/Way of the Samurai?

I noticed that they added some DLC enemies to WotSam, when I did the “speedrun titles” (like the Fox Spirits, Fox mask Onmyogi, Kusa Yoki) Maybe they will make a few more simple enemies? (there are still no simple Odachi humans, but they added simple Tonfa Ninja) Or Maybe they will make the progression curve smoother for the Complete edition e.g. you get access to Divines after finishing Bloodshed's End and unlock NG+ at that point, but in turn have all requirements grow slower. It's a bit messed up atm… if you finish the DLC you are basically overgeared for the first 4 regions of NG+.

I also think they didn't expect people to clear all 999 floors of The Abyss so fast, so maybe they will add a few more and really go all out… like Maria, Jin, Okatsu triple boss fight, or something along those lines lol

Seems to fix most, if not all of the Abyss issues. The significant balance change is that Critical effects no longer apply while in LW, which seems to make a lot of people rather salty.

I'm not surprised. It's like the Kusarigama blade spin where they played the entire game just doing that. LW spirit build in critical was pretty crazy on demolishing bosses and smaller ememies. I had a separate equipment build set for using one and swapping between the two, but I am really hoping that TN create an update where the game puts in the skill weapon points for you in a saved category so that I don't have to constantly put in points every single time I use a book (Ex: Saving equipment sets with Triangle in that equipment list again, but also saving the points putted into each. So all I'd have to do is use a book and load an equipment. Boom. Stat points I can put on my own). Neutral for this update, but was definitely being hopeful on some stuff. Overall, I am ok with this.
