Found this at AssemblerGames.com. This is a hex edit for DOA3's Default.xbe file to enable a 21:9 ultra widescreen aspect ratio.

Open Default.xbe in a hex editor. Find the value "3F 0000103F" and replace it with "3F 0000D83E"

This patch is only for DOA3.1/DOA3++ and DOA3.2. The "3F 0000103F" value does not exist in DOA3.0's default.xbe, so I'm unsure how you would make the edit for that version, not that anyone wants to play it anyway.

Nice find, so you have to have the game set to run in 16:9 in order to do this option? So it would still be rendering the game in a squashed 480p 4:3 screen and you'd have to stretch to make it fill out the 21:9 screen?

you can actually see more of the Environment in those Screen Shots.... the FOV definitely looks wider.

Pretty Sweet Hack....

But what are the Gameplay Implications ? Does the Camera no longer Pan side to side ? Is the Max Distance unchained like in VF5 ?

The in-game 16:9 setting is only for the CG videos, I believe, so I don't know if that matters at all for gameplay.

I think so, yeah. When I was trying it out, the game was still stuck in a 4:3 ratio, but everything was really squished. I had to set the TV to force widescreen to see it.

I only briefly tested it on a v1.4 Xbox. v1.0-v1.3 and v1.5 Xboxes should have the same effect though. I have not yet tested it on a v1.6/v1.6b, so I'm not sure how it will work on those, since they have those weird, shitty Xcalibur video encoders.

Everything should still function the same.

Well yeah the in game 16:9 setting is only for the videos, and only if you have the system setting set to do wide screen enabled. But yes, that's what this does is that it will do what it already did for 16:9: Squish the image into 480x360 which will then render out if you tell the monitor to stretch.
