To answer the first question, one would have to ignore the following sentence.
You gotta use the graphics from the final game and not the Kasumi/Akira trailer to make a better comparison, as the graphics for the game were marginally downgraded afterwards.
What exactly looks better in the picture above than in the picture down below ? Also let’s not turn this into a DOA/Graphics discussion.

Tbh apart from the character models, DOA5 backgrounds etc look fucking terrible lol
And Geralt for SC6, ye I'm ok with that =p
Where are they freaking out? The forums that I frequent either mostly think it was something positive or they didn't really care.
Anyway, I bet that relationship, if it is indeed true, will be of hardly any consequence and it's probably just mentioned on the side, maybe in some text wall...online. Neither do Japanese developers have a good track record of homosexual representation, nor is Soul Calibur famed for it's great storytelling or character development.

Well, that's not really true. Ivy, Sophitia and Taki developed quite well over the course of the series, lol.

It's the same issue of being a non-issue.
Like it would/should never come up in-game so it's nothing more than trivia, and let's be honest, he's a pirate, which is ships full of men at sea for months at a time, so people really shouldn't be surprised, that's just a little bit of a realism for you.
Like I could imagine it's less that he's homosexual, and more that he's like....prison gay, lol.

You also can see that they really reuse the Soul Calibur 4 base body models. These were even by PS3 standards mediocre at best. Say hello again to clomp feet with quadratic toes...on PS4, in 2018.

....*sigh* first of all I hate my laptop and If the goddamn trackpad throws me to the top of this page one more time as I desperately try to click reply I will go insane lmao.
Anyway though yeah I am, How the characters feet look like means not much of anything to me I'm just excited to get my hands on the game and play it and see more characters and stages. ( as well as CAS, hopefully we'll be getting new reveals soon too ) It would be good If the models were updated more etc but regardless I'm still excited for the game.

I don't think people notice that the character models are updated (besides Zasalamel). SCIV suffered from sameface syndrome which seems to be rectified in this game. I don't really care if they have blocky hands or feet because that's not why I play the game and honestly seems like a non issue at this point.
Moving on to a less annoying topic; the public build at final round is gonna be the same build from EVO Japan. It'll be interesting to finally see more competent players get their hands on the game. I find myself rewatching the Silent Joel videos a lot.
Also, they finally uploaded this stream to youtube. I'm not sure if people know, but Japanese players Oosaka and Shining Decopon are both involved in the game's development this time.

Now that just makes me miserable. I always hated the equipment destruction when it goes to the point that my character is only wearing its underwear. As far as I know, in Soul Calibur IV, that only happens to customizable outfits because the default outfits will only get rips and tears. Now in this game, it happens to default outfits as well.
I'm fine with the equipment destruction, but the way it's executed is really poor. The outfits just explode like "Ta-daaa! I'm only on my underwear."
I remember in Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, you can break your armor by your own will. It fills your soul gauge to avoid critical finishes, but it decreases your defense.
Well, let's review. None of the characters I like to play have been revealed yet. Returning characters don't look any more exciting moveset-wise than they were in previous games. The new character looks fucking lame. They haven't done away with meters and armor breaking is still a thing. The interview with the dev. concerning gameplay features a while back was filled with stupidity and confounding allusions. I've heard that movement feels more like SC1/2, but I have no way of verifying that.
So yes, I care about how it plays, but I'm no more optimistic about that element than I am about its visuals. Bandai Namco is literally failing on almost every aspect of this game so far, IMO (with Nightmare's design really being the only concession).
