I know this is a bit OT but I feel like this is a better place to ask. How do you guys feel on KT supposedly removing breast physics and fanservice costumes from DOA6? People on the GameFAQs message board are losing their shit.

I hate it. Won't buy DoA6 to make my point.

As long as there's the DOAX series, they can do all the bouncy stuff there.

I don't think TN will totally remove fanservice in the main fighting game. Just looking at Kasumi and Helena's new outfits, there's still "apprecation for the female form" as it still emphasizes the curves.

yeah maybe... but:

“We wanted to make a more cool and mature Dead or Alive this time, and to that end we made a conscious decision to make the characters less sexualized,” Shimbori told IGN.

“The female characters are still attractive, as are the men, but first and foremost they are fighters,” Saito said.

In Dead or Alive 6, female characters’ breasts no longer jiggle and bounce in the exaggerated fashion the series became increasingly known for, and the costumes we have seen so far are less revealing. Female characters are depicted in a more natural way, which makes them feel more human and believable than before.

I checked twitter just a little while ago and It's strange to see that X3 twitter account is still active after so long. X3 is like 99.9% at this point not going to have an Ultimate edition at this point but maybe now with DOA6 coming out we could see a X4 somewhere in the future? Obviously though I imagine If it even did it would be a while after DOA6. The hype for DOA6 is real though so that's all I'm focused on for now.

Let's not give up hope regarding an Ultimate Edition. Don't forget, they also tend to announce these kinds of things at either DOAFest or TGS, so at least wait until then. Plus, if they continue releasing new characters, it would act as a good time to add the cut six as promotion for DOA6.

As far as the toned down jiggles, to be honest, that comes across as unrealistic (if girls get into a fight, you can expect their breasts to jiggle). Besides, if they try to tone down female beauty like Marvel did with its female characters like Captain Marvel where they look outright androgynous, that's going to fail big time.

Seriously. They always nerf the boob flopping as each generation passes. In DOA1 the breasts had a chance to knock out the girls before anything else, in 2 I don't remember much of it all, and it was one of the best games in the series.

And to me Xtreme 2 also had more jiggle than Xtreme 3. A lot more actually.

My problem is more that they seem to be going the route of Marvel a couple years back where they tried to really tone down the female appearance and made them look more like... well, like men dressed as girls to put it simply. You can read up more here:

It also doesn't help that one of the people in charge actually indicated that this change as well as their removing the Soft Engine thing from Xtreme 3 was inspired by American Comics' current practices with females.

Besides, is it truly necessary to tone down what is arguably the franchise's trademark? They didn't tone down Princess Peach, Rosalina, Princess Zelda, Zero Suit Samus, and/or any other female characters in the Super Smash Bros. series, and they're, while a bit hotter than how they generally appear if one needs to be frank, pretty much tame compared to Dead or Alive or ESPECIALLY compared to games like, say, Senran Kagura.

Its not that serious tbh, they're not gonna go that drastic with the changes. Plus you still have X3 and VV for that stuff

Maybe, but I can tell you that there's going to be some jiggle physics if girls get in a cat fight, so it's actually unrealistic to cut them out in a way.

Like I said compared to DOA1 and DOAX2 it's been toned down anyway. You're making too big a deal out of it to no longer be a fan and you know it. None of the girls so far have dressed like a man would...

You don't know if they will just add an option in the options menu for that tho, y'all are really jumping the gun with the censorship thing, it's not that serious XD Ass will jiggle in a fight and no games atm have that, so that's not much different tbh if you can live with no ass jiggle than boob jiggle isn't any different

Let's hope you're right. Though the way that guy was talking, it sounds like they're just cutting it out altogether, not simply leaving it as even an option you can turn on (if they were going to do it as an options menu thing, I don't think he would have made a big deal of removing it).

Let me rephrase that: The Marvel Comics guys when trying to tone down female beauty to appeal to the SJW crowd went so far to do so that the girls end up looking extremely androgynous as a result. That was a very unpopular decision by the Comic fans, and... well, six years after that, Marvel said enough and decided to cut the SJW crap. The guy who removed the Soft Engine and the jiggle physics and cited American Comics as his inspiration basically is making the same mistake. And to be a bit more clear of what I meant by how the girls looked androgynous in Marvel Comics during that time, here's what Captain Marvel looked like during that situation on the left, and before that situation on the right:

A lot of youtuber's and press want views, and what brings in views more than anything for them? Talking about boobs. The complete dumb fuck interviewing them from IGN couldn't wait to talk about it. Sounded pretty clear to me in that IGN interview that Team NINJA wasn't going to take it out completely... but to make it look right for the game.

Actually, my main source was OneAngryGamer, and he actually referenced the whole debacle with Marvel when they tried something similar, the same thing that Shimori cited as a matter of fact:

https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2018/...as-influenced-by-american-comics-films/60904/

And his source for that was in fact DualShockers, NOT IGN.

Now, that being said, this does come from IGN:

So let's wait and see what happens before deciding if you're going be a fan anymore?

For the record, I'd stop being a fan if they start ruining the game's story by inserting left-wing crap into it like Hideo Kojima did with the Metal Gear series when he started trying to use it as a vehicle for America bashing and even having characters sing praises to Che Guevara (I'm more interested in the story's messages, many of which were actually very good). It's going to take a LOT more than just toning down the girls beauty before I retire quickly from being a fan (though that being said, it is going to cause a bit of a dent thanks largely to it looking like they're appealing to SJWs like Marvel did).
