DOA5U AYANE (Force of Nature) vs MOMIJI (XernuhtZwei)

I think that may be because of the fact that learning any aspect of Ayane takes quite a while. And some players feel proud about being to able do that specific thing well (i.e. juggles, spinning, being random, etc., etc.). I sometimes rush in on an opponent and engage in CQC with them to test their defensive capabilities and see how well they can defend against Ayane in close. If they fight well in close, I'll try a ranged game with them (and vice-versa).

The thing I love most about Ayane is her ability to handle her self in a multitude of situations and predicaments. It can be tough to physically put Ayane in a bad spot because her overall versatility. And yes, Ayane's 2P fucks up a lot of people in close and makes them hesistate a lot more than I feel they should. But yeah, when I discovered Ayane's Low-Jab-Trap (LJT), I fell in love with its ability to lock people up.

What I've found with a lot of Ayane players is that they either try to rushdown with random mix-ups, try to spin you into oblivion or try to turtle you all day. With the random mix-up players, I can usually punish them easily. With the people who "spin too much" I either turtle them or just run up to them anyway. And for the "turtlers", I just run up to them and block everytime. If they can't keep me out, or approach me properly, that's their problem.
Most Ayane players only know how to do something specific. A very good Ayane knows how to get away when she wants to (even if it starts to seem difficult), and how to keep you out. Usually when I stay in CQC awhile, I have reasons for it, or at times I find I have no need to play my spacing if they are losing in CQC anyway.

And Ayane can be hard to fight up close at times as well when her tools are utilized right. The 2P dominates a lot of match ups, and if you are worried about holding it, she's already won the match.
Yeah, I absolutely love Ayane's versatility even if managing her movement can be a royal pain in the ass at times compared to most other characters >.<. Though I do find that most tend to be "overly" afraid of Ayane at times, both in close or at range (which is reasonable). When I fight Ayane, I always try to stay close to her because once she gets some range, she can become a nightmare to fight at times.
And Ayane can do the same with her jab versus faster mids and highs that aren't neutral jab. The point I'm making is that Ayane does not lose up close because she has tools to hold her own at all height levels that most are not aware of.

Ayane is dangerous up close and mid range, not just range. Of course a character with faster speed will use their mids to keep her in check, you're suppose to. And if Ayane isn't recognizing that, they don't know the match up well. However, a character having a faster mid versus this character is not always a good solution. Ayane's tool set is far better than one would think, in comparison to other characters with i13 mids and even those with i12 mids.
True, though the opponent could use their jabs to beat out Ayane's K's. Neither character will really "blanket each other". Thanks for the tip on 6P. Either way, I do think that characters that have i12 or i11 mids should use them regularly to help keep the Ayane player "honest" and keep them from spamming mids in close (and also so I can practice my Expert Mid P holds more lol).
Ayane has advantage versus EVERY character that has an i12 mid(s) due to her neutral K out damaging their mid in neutral up close. Ayane's 6P will only crush jabs at initial frames by the way, not highs in general.
Yeah you missed out on some really good shit Seikuken. On lot of different players tried out the game yesterday and had only been playing for about 2 weeks or so. Though all the people playing do have a fair bit of experience in FG's in general so I expect them to pick up the game relatively quickly. I'll be at our "Dojo" A&C tomorrow and look forward to facing your BajiQuan awesomeness.

Thanks for the heads up Hajin. I use Ayane's 6P to crush highs when in close. I dunno why Sashi and Xernuht are so afraid of Ayane in close when she doesn't actually have the advantage over their mains due to the i12 mids. If I see that an opponent is not fighting a MU properly, I will abuse that in a competitive situation.
Awesome Aya as always! Looks like I missed out on the fun yesterday. T_T
Hopefully we can get some fights in tomorrow!
One thing to point, be careful when combating your mids in the match up, because Momiji's 6P is i12. If Zwei knew this he would have scored a lot of counter hits. Neutral K is your best friend to counter hit i12 mids.
