Guess which game I got on sale....View attachment 21798

Btw @Tyaren I changed my profile pic as a hint of where the ginger babe is from. How do people not know this..? I feel sooo old.

Yaaay! :D Have fun with it! It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Most were just disappointed it didn't live up to the immense hype. I did enjoy it as long (or short) as it lasted.

And isn't it just beautiful? I would even say it still looks a bit more polished than Uncharted 4. It has way better lighting at least.

@Tyaren, I actually like it quite much, great graphics, cool characters and an engaging story. Gameplay wise it reminds me very much of Gears of War with the slow movement and cover system. I did quite like those and GoW4 is high on the list to make Xbone a viable purchase, maybe, (prolly not)

@Jadeinchains I know right!!

@Argentus First pic I posted was the original introduction of her. Great catchphrase. We do need a Spidey/marvel thread somewhere here....

I wouldn't mind but between constantly overhauling or replacing iconic characters purely for shock value or trying to force the comics to be more like the movies which causes huge problems, marvel disgusts me nowadays.

That said I have just outright fallen in LOVE with a few obscure characters and would love to talk about them.

Great shots and it it is a vry good looking game. :) Is it open-world?

Its not gta/witcher 3 open world and more like a hub world were you have one condensed city with multiple districts with seamless exploration and no load screens unless taking the subway between the different districts. Theres also missions that take you out of the city to other locations throughout the world

Even though technically limited I am pretty impressed with Zelda: Breath of the Wild's open world and it's realization. It looks imo really pretty and cohesive. Here's a time lapse of it's day and night cycle:

Interesting is that the wind and clouds actually randomly change directions. I don't know if this is done by any other game before. Even graphically/technically advanced games like The Witcher 3 have the exact same wind direction as far as I know.

So the PS Neo is PS Pro, with HDR and 4K support. I am actually quite excited even though I hardly know what HDR is, but it sounds cool and I want it XD. Here's a Tech demo from last night, just look at that Spiderman game at the start. Even considering upgrading my TV... Got 4K, but need to find out about HDR. Wonder if my wife would notice if the TV grew 10 inches and changed make and model....:p

@Tyaren, please educate me!

Ehh, PS4 Pro isnt anything too special. Does it look pretty as hell? Yes, but, that means nothing if the games suck lol

Saying that, Horizon and Mass Effect look awesome. Mass Effect finally has up to par graphics

Lol @ShinobiGuy don't ask me about this abomination. XD I hate the fact that they are making iterative PCs out of consoles. Of course to get even more money out of stupid customers who are salivating at the thought of marketing catchphrases like 4K and HDR. Most don't even know what this actually means. The vast majority don't even own 4K TVs that are HDR ready for a long time.
I'll own being a "1080peasant" for the rest of this console generation. If you can even call it a generation anymore. Then I will get a PC. Since Sony and Microsoft clearly tell me that real consoles are dead.

The PS4 Pro is by the way not really that big of a deal. It is just about double as powerful as the PS4. They bumped up the GPU but the CPU is still pretty shitty and it is overall still a good deal weaker than current high end PCs.
It actually can't run the games in full 4K either. It's more like 2K which they upscale to still look good on 4K TVs.
Also, if you run a game in 4K mode on PS4 Pro you just get the resolution bump but no extra graphical effects. The console is not powerful enough for that. Only if you play a game in 1080p on your 1080p TV the console is powerful enough to bump up image quality and effects such as shadows and draw distance. But not actually all developers will do that because this additional optimization costs time and money. All new games from now on need to have a mandatory PS4 Pro patch but a 4K mode will suffice.

The Rise of the Tombraider is a good example that will make the very best out of the PS4 Pro. You will be able to run the game in three different modes:
- in 4K mode (higher resolution and HDR but without any other graphical improvements)
- in 1080p and 60 fps (standard resolution and higher framerate without any additional graphical improvements)
- in 1080p and 30fps (standard resolution, standard framerate but with additional graphical improvements)

That shows pretty well that even if fully taken advantage of, the PS4 Pro is actually not the real deal and still comparatively weak. Better wait for the Xbox Scorpio next year then. This console will really reach highend PC power...but for a hefty price tag of course. ;)

Last but not least the PS4 Pro will not receive an Ultra HD Blu-ray player. So still no 4K films on your 4K TV and the regular PS4 will actually receive the HDR update. There's no additional power needed for that. Just a patch and of course a TV that features HDR.

@KasumiLover69 might find this interesting. ;)

I am a cynic when it comes to Zelda but so far BotW not only looks fun to play, it looks absolutely gorgeous. They did an excellent work with the trailer; the music and images gave me the goosebumps.
The opening scene with Link coming out of his slumber was very evocative, and I'm impressed at how well they work with cell shading and how they nail the anime look perfectly.

The Miyazaki influence is clear; is it unorginal or a good thing? Well, I like it very much so far.

And the jomon pottery inspired robots? An incredible choice imo, perfect look for ancient yet alienating creatures.

They'd better not fuck it up.

Yeah, I read the Final Fantasy thread after asking :) But thanks for the write up, I'll hang back a bit and maybe check out the Scorpio next year, never got around to the XBone and now there are some exclusive games there that I'd like, we'll see. PC I'm still not convinced about, sure if you have a super expensive one you can max out the graphics, but then you hear about bugs galore like with arkham city or the PS3 version they have of DOALR.

Though the opportunity for installing mods is very tantalizing. Some of the graphics mods for for instance GTAV are incredible.
