Alright, FFXV might have had a rocky start in Japan but in the West it's managed its most successful launch in franchise history...

"Although a Call of Duty has now topped the December sales chart for the ninth consecutive year, Final Fantasy XV was the best selling game for the PS4 during the month," said Naji. "Final Fantasy XV was the second best-selling title for December 2016... Final Fantasy XV experienced the best console launch month in the history of the franchise selling 19 percent more new physical units than Final Fantasy XIII in its launch month and 54% more in total dollar revenue including digital full game sales."

FF12 - 896K

FF13 - 1.3 Million

FF15 - 1.5 Million physical (1.8+ Million including digital)

I'm happy for its success...even though I have my disappointments and problems with the game. :)

Another amazing fact:
FFXV is even among the top ten most sold games in the US for 2016:

  2. Battlefield 1 (EA)
  3. Tom Clancy’s The Division (Ubisoft)
  4. NBA 2K17 (Take-Two)

To put this into perspective: Even though it was sold at the end of the year for just one month it reached the top ten and beat games like Uncharted 4. Yes, FFXV sold more copies in one month than Uncharted 4 all year. O:

That's great news. I'm happy they're work has been successful. And the series has made a lot of new fans from this game. Me included kind of if you count the excitement for this game being what made me play the other ones.

By the way, the new camera mode is actually in the trailer (1:09) and while it's nothing fancy like Uncharted 4's or Arkham Knight's photo mode, it seems to be more than just a selfie feature.
Looks as if you can zoom in and out and apply filters and you have a limit of 150 photos.

Seriously? Is this physical and digital? I keep up with games sales and these don't look accurate at all to me, Pokemon would definitely be on the list. Look at the horrendous tastes of the masses. Sports games, stupid fucking war games and the biggest piece of shit on there is GTAV by far. Why the fuck are people still buying that? At least Overwatch and FFXV made the list. What a bunch of numb skulls.

Anyway, the carnival looked pretty stupid but the recent trailer made it look a little better. At least there is now a dish to help us out with that Jaded Pink Gar in the fishing quests.

So fucking Cid doesn't even give me quests for the weapons. I have all the the items and weapons I need, but Cid just complains about his old aching back. As far as I know he doesn't have any of my weapons either -- he treats my game as if I've done all of his quests already.

Really glad to see a feature from back when it was Versus XIII return. It's kinda fun taking your own pics.

Have you done some hunts, side quests and camp a few times to pass the time? He's supposed to call you when the weapon is ready.

The camera mode is completely useless to me. The photos you take are of low resolution, low image quality and without texture filtering, even on the Pro. Such a waste. If I could at least hide the camera UI, to take the photo with the share function. But that's also not possible. I knew they'd f*** this up. :/

-Does all the quests, colosseum mini games, Square Enix Cafe, fishing, ballon collecting, moogle doll collecting, dance with Kenny Crow etc.-

-Buys suite, takes like 5-10 pictures of fireworks, waiting patiently for this boat ride to end-

-Gets Dream Egg (?)-

-Gets the last VIP section worth 99 medallions-

K, done with carnival now.

Spoilers with what you get yeah, but don't really care since it's nothing worthy of high value on spoilers so take it or leave it if you got spoiled, (such a cruel post yes, yet there is a legitimate reason for such a cruel post.) Enjoy.

It's a time killer on a fair note, just not something of extreme levels of hype. If it looked like Gold Saucer or Disney Land I may reconsider on what I said and give it more positive points.

Lol, I'm about to try it out.
Also I noticed that the pre-order DLC's are now available, they're pretty cheap too (€ 0,50) so I got them all because why not (except for the Regalia skins). Finally I got the Noctis costume I've always wanted that came with the Deluxe Edition.

Edit : I was messing with the new photo mode, only to find out that now all my 145 Prompto's photos are gone, they're just an empty black screen, definitely not cool. I want my photos back :c

They are still there. They are saved in the menu under two different galleries, Prompto's and Noctis' photos.

Yeah, the carnival is enjoyable for maybe an hour, that's it. I said it already before: Huge waste of time and money to do stuff like that instead of fully concentrating on improving the main game.

Also, where is the 60fps Pro patch that they already promised for December? It's soon February. Oh, did they mean December 2017? XD

I know, but nope, they aren't unfortunately. When I select Prompto's photos they're all black except for the last 5, which I saved the last time I camped. The others won't load, I even waited 5~minutes but nothing, black screen.
I also tried to load other save datas and it's the same. Looked for a solution (other people had this issue) and it seems there isn't one, guess I'll just delete everything D:

Carnival was fun, but it wasn't necessary, other things need to be a priority.

There are two types of glitches and I got the unfortunate one: He doesn't give you any quests at all after upgrading the engine blade. :( They don't know if they will fix it.

Did you manage to get the new fishing rod? Is it better than Serenity?

I found the update to be more fun after getting really high. Haven't found all of the chocobos (surprised I actually haven't found more) 2 more moogles and that damn fishing rod and I got it all.
