… I think at this point it's safe to assume that they will add a new melee weapon type. Ōdachi/Nodachi was one of the more frequently requested types as far as I can tell, so this should make at least some people happy.

EDIT: just noticed there was a blog post on the Playstation blog.

I'd assume we get 2-3 main missions in that region, with 1 new boss each and a few side missions. Wonder what they will do with normal enemies, at least the full set of humans with new armor sets + humans with the new weapon type and the dude above will probably replace the standard Yoki in that area.

If they want to get rid of the enemy variety complaint, they should probably add some creature enemies (to the old locations). Rabid Dogs, Ninja dogs, Centipedes in the mines, Giant rats in the sewers etc. Low effort and boosts numbers :p Could also make you fight the Guardian spirits, or something.

I'm really looking forward to the dlc. Playing a lot of coop on nioh now and we finally understood how to use the sake for amrita gain. Trying to level a bit for the new stuff.

I'm only like 140 I think. I'm not a huge post-game kind of guy. Finished the game, did all of the missions (except a couple of the freebies from the last update...haven't gotten to them yet with the backlog), and now I just want my DLC. I'm very much motivated by getting to the next cutscene in games so getting some more story is awesome. Date Masamune is gonna get his head wrenched off by his fancy, drunken crescent moon helmet.

The centipede is just poorly designed.... They really want you to fight it in a very specific, almost legend of zelda type way and it feels super out of place and dysfunctional on a hitbox and animation level when you try to confront it using similar logic to any other fight.

Question, when is a nice level to stop leveling up according to the experience of you guys?
Some would argue never. I just killed a level 750 revenant. I assume that the respective player has been grinding non-stop since the 1800s.

As expected this weeks Famitsu has an article about the upcoming DLC (source:
Famitsu)

I think the article has infos on PvP as well, fingers crossed for a translation…
EDIT: The PVP Patch comes with female transformations (source: reddit)

They will also do a stream on May 1st at 10PM (local time) on yotubube (Stream URL)

Looking forward to it… though I guess I should de-level to ~200 and probably use some 150(+5) gear for the DLC. Finished all the content at ~300 with a 160(+10) Shiranui and Armor of the Exceptional (+8) (and a lighter Chest Piece to get B Agility…) that made everything too easy imo, but I wanted all the titles…

Super excited for the dlc. I'm still only at lvl 140 or so, with + 2 equipment, but get too tired of grinding and there's waaaay too much equipment. Not been playing much lately, but looking forward to getting back in the game. Hope TN keep this franchise alive.

Yeah… high res scans
42SMNOY.jpg

look at the Imgur Album for the rest…

The thing with the giant head next to Masamune is Nurarihyon, right? Great idea as a Guardian spirit XD
PvP is Arena style 1v1 and 2v2, not sure if Dojo is the only map… probably “bring your own character” so it's going to be a total mess :p
Guess there will be a translation on reddit sooner or later…

Some translated details so far (from a reddit post)
  • VA for Date Masamune is not PUT YA GUNS ON from Sengoku Basara, sorry gents.
  • New characters: Katakura Shigenaga, Date Shigezane.
  • Hanzo's cat is back, don't think he will be a useable Guardian Spirit. Description just says "what guidance can he provide for William?"
  • New Yokai are Rokurokubi and Namahage. New forms of existing enemies have also been added.
  • New weapon: The oodachi. Although it is slow, it specializes in having long reach and high destructive power. It's a great weapon for crowd control.
Finally, a director interview for PVP coming in this patch.
  1. Battle formats are 1v1 or 2v2
  2. In 2v2, it is possible to revive your teammate. So it's imperative that you don't let the enemies revive each other.
  3. There are multiple stages you can fight in, some stages have special gimmicks.
  4. You can use a wide variety of skills and items in PVP. However, some items, like the Smoke Bomb, have had their effectiveness weakened for PVP.

I'm assuming that most of the new characters will probably be as much as the most expensive existing character, meaning 20,000 Glory. If they make Tome, Fuku, Date, Okatsu and Tachibana all at that price range, that would be 100,000 Glory. I like to have all transformations, even the ones I don't use.

Time to grind!
