A new even better rarity?
Probably not, given that Ethereals are already so rare and if there is no new difficulty there isn't all that much content to go through to get drops. Unless they come up with really good new set bonuses and exclusive rolls, it's not going to be worth it, except for the most obsessed min/maxers.

I'd assume that we will get better drop rates for Ethereal gear playing The Abyss (whatever it turns out to be) and if they add options to create/modify Ethereals (e.g. switch the “Grace of X”) the required items probably will drop in that mode as well. I just can't see them implement normal crafting with either more divine, or potential ethereal fragments, since that completely defeats the point of making the drop rates as low as they are atm.

Though if they make crafting more viable again for BiS gear… plz Team Ninja do something about the + Level Soul Matching to get weapons up to the + Levels of your fodder. I don't mind the fact that getting something from +26 to +30 is somewhat tedious, since it's basically “overgearing”, but getting something from base to a usable level is annoying. Just raise it by half/third the (ceiled) plus level difference, or something.

Guardian spirits are the ones you'd expect, some nice looking gear, most probably at least 3 Boss fights with the old 2 main missions 1 large side mission structure.
Apparently no new weapon, but it seems they added new skills to the available weapons (too bad I was hoping for a Rapier )
The Abyss can be played with 3 people in Co-Op and is apparently infinite levels with progressively better loot and harder challenges(and you can quit at the end of each level)

And take a look at the guy in the bottom right image on the second page/scan

They will stream the DLC for 30mins during TGS on the TK channel, but I think this will be the only footage from the game @ TGS… it's just DLC after all.

Since it's one of the few images without caption, who knows?
That also looks a lot like Inferno Ninpo, so they either added something like this to the Onmyo tree, or it's a boss…

It's still not 100% but that doesn't look like “cosplay” to me…

If he is a boss, I'd assume he's some late stage in the new challenge mode they announced.
