Fantastic News! Shadow of the Colossus will come with a photo mode! :D

The art director of the game about the photo mode:
"The thing that makes Photo Mode stand out is its power and flexibility. It’s an entire photo adjustment suite built into the game for you! Everything that I had access to as the Art Director, you have access to as the player. You can start with a filter and adjust all the way down to color balancing the shadows, midtones and highlights. Then on top of that, control the depth of field ranges and amounts, in addition to the vignette. That’s an amazing amount of control.
Adjusting the camera to get that perfect shot is super easy. Being able to switch the camera from the player to the horse offers up a ton of possibilities. Letting the team loose with it was incredible. The amount of different looks you can achieve is limitless. To top it off, being able to rotate the camera 90 degrees either way to generate portrait images means that lots of photos will be used as cell phone wallpapers! That’s not all: you’re able to leave some of the filters running as you play, giving you exciting degrees of control over how the game looks in motion."

And here's what you can do with it:

And with that Tyaren is now at piece. Seriously though that's amazing I'm sure that's made this a must buy now for you If it wasn't already and makes It so much better, I'm now expecting dozens and dozens of pics from you once this game comes out! :D

This game is answering all my deepest never even spoken wishes. XD
I never got to play the PS2 original or PS3 remaster though I always wanted to. I had never even dreamed that they'd do a full remake just for me, lol.
When they announced the PS4 Pro update I was concerned there would be no update for 1080p TV owners, because The Last Guardian also didn't. I was venting my frustration over on Resetera and Twitter, then suddenly one of the developers wrote a comment that 1080p TV owners don't have to worry, because there would be supersampling for them as well.
Last but not least, I hadn't dared to wish for a photo mode, because this remake was supposed to be very authentic to the original, without any additional fluff or so they said. Now a photo mode is in as well. :D

Here are other cool shots:

Amazing water physics. O:

Yeah the physics really do look great, The game looks good to in general like it would be fun to play, Not sure If I'd get it though. I'm guessing It's only online. Also lol I actually didn't know that was a gif at first because of how slow it was.

Yep, also not interested in the game itself (it's also Xbox/PC exclusive), but Rare nailed the visuals here. :)

Speaking of Rare...does anyone remember Kameo? It was one of the launch titles of the Xbox360 and back then praised as one of the, if not the, best looking game ever.

I was so blown away by it's graphics when I got to experience it for the first time myself...
Now it looks really dated and stylistically pretty ugly too. :/ Who came up with a Native American fairy? XD

Oh lol well If I wasn't planning on getting it before it being xbox/pc only sure makes it a not buy. Also I actually don't really know anything about Kameo, I think the most I know about it is seeing it's cover image and that's it. It looks... Maybe back when it first came out it looked nice lol but..Looking now at it though it doesn't look that good really..

Remember the Granblue Fantasy footage in terrible quality some weeks/months ago? We finally have direct feed footage...and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

And that in super smooth 60fps... :)

One can already match many of the locations here to the corresponding locations in the original. :)

Yeah, it looks so good. This is what I hoped current generation JRPGs would look like. Hopefully the next Tales game takes a good look at what is actually possible with a little time, care...and a not so little budget, lol. I'm frankly dissappointed in the Tales series the most in this regard. They maneuvered themselves into irrelevancy. Hard to believe Microsoft once even payed millions for an Xbox eclusive Tales. It was (not) coincidentally the last great Tales, Tales of Vesperia.

Hopefully we'll see something for VII remake soon, I want to see more from it and what it's like, I don't know how much longer we'll be waiting to see something from it.

And yeah I haven't seen much of the tales games but that Granblue game looks really good, I'll need to see more of it though as It comes out and stuff before deciding If I want to get it but what I've seen so far looks nice.

Lol, I don't think we will see it before PS5 arrives. XD This is totally the new FFXV, taking a decade to make. I don't even mind, because I'm not really looking forward to it anway. I never played FFVII, so I'm not subjected to any nostalgia and it seems mostly dark, gritty and more sci-fi than fantasy. The concept art suggests this too. As you know, that's not my thing. The bright, whimsical high fantasy look of Granblue Fantasy is exactly my thing however! :)

I've by the way started watching the Granblue anime. And I do really like it. It's not out of the ordinary and the art and animation aren't anything special, but I really like the general vibe, story, characters and world. This would be perfect for a big, single player JRPG.
I wonder if Gran, the titular hero, will be in the game as well. He's for Granblue Fnatasy what Link is to the Zelda series:

(Gran's the guy here. ;))

I do like the art and character design of Granblue:

It's by Hideo Minaba, who also designed Final Fantasy XV. :)

Yeah...your right we probably won't see XV for years... :I why do they always have to annouce them so many years before they release them? And why does it take them so long lol. I wish they'd manage to bring out VII remake faster, Who knows when we'll see something for FF16!? We probably won't see a reveal for years and If we do it will probably be years and years before the game actually releases. And yeah I know sci fi isn't your thing so I guess It isn't shocking that a place like Midgar wouldn't interest you, For me though I find it super interesting, A huge city in the desert built on a massive pillar with a cyberpunk feel. It looks great.

I am interested in Granblue too though, The characters look cool in those drawings too and yeah the whole look is definitely giving a more high fantasy type of JRPG which is cool too.

The Xillias and Berseria were super good, though...

Many reviewers already received Shadow of the Colossus and since the review embargo is also already up many have started sharing their first impressions and recorded some gameplay.

As a Sony first party game SotC of course makes great use of the PS4 Pro. Let's have a look at game's two extra Pro modes:

So there's a 30fps 4k mode (downsampled on 1080p TVs) and a 60fps mode at 1080p resolution.

There's also a photo mode and the great thing about it is: You can keep on playing the game with the enhancements and filters you enabled in there. You can for example play in a night mode:

That filter thing that stays while you play is really cool, Especially since people like Argentus were talking about how they preferred the kind of I think haziness of the original game? So maybe you can give the game that kind of look again with this.

Yes, Bluepoint did great work to make the game, its controls, its visuals, its UI and sound/music highly customizable. So if you got any problems with Bluepoints remake decisions, you can fully customize it too your liking. Apart from image filters there are indeed settings like motion blur, hazyness and even lighting that you can change. The original game had some crazy bloom lighting, which is toned down here by default, but if you want you can dial it back up until you need sunglasses to even play this game. 8D In this video the player does tinker a bit with all settings:

I don't know how fluent you are en français, mes amies, but this playthrough is really interesting. The player is really enthusiastic about the game and game design in general. Enjoyable to listen to and to learn something. :)

Lol as much as I'd like to be able to speak French sadly I'm not but I'll still check it out to see how he messes around with the settings! :D

Around 12:46 he messes around with some of the settings.
Also watch 39:00 onwards for some exploration of really breathtaking scenery. Canyons, waterfalls, little creeks, forests, desert. So beautiful this game! O:
