Thanks for the times of when he does it!

You are welcome. :) I just saw that this time stamp would be better for checking out some of the filters and other visuals changes though: 11:00.

By the way, while I think the game looks amazing in most aspects and that it is a huge improvement over the original, I am not a fan of Wander's character model:

Looks weird now, like a plastic doll... :/

Yeah that's pretty strange, Also I actually hadn't really gotten a good look yet of what he lots like in comparison to the old version until now so it's cool to get a comparison. And yeah...the old one might be less detailed etc but I actually like the look of his face on that one more than the new one. The new one still looks good though.

God of War got a release date (April 20th) and a beautiful new trailer:

Wow, this looks surprisingly colorful and vibrant! O: The next graphical showcase for PS4!

I personally find Arc System Work's visual work in Guitly Gear with this same engine even more impressive. I might be biased though, because I strongly dislike Akira Toriyama's art style and character designs. Too simple, angular and samey for me.

ArcSys definitely displays impressive visuals. IMHO, Guilty Gear's art direction is too busy and cluttered to make sense of or appreciate anything.

To illustrate my point, if you asked me to visualize DMC3 Dante without a visual reference, I'd be able to recreate it perfectly. Same applies if you asked me to visualize Goku. In contrast, if you asked me to visualize DMC4 Dante, I would get a rough idea (cowboy-like pants, red coat, lots of belts), but I certainly don't remember every aspect of it. Same applies to Sol Badguy of Guilty Gear (he also has a stupid amount of belts, funny enough).

I think that sometimes artists get carried away when making character designs, thinking "Oh, but if I just add this, and then this!" but sometimes more is less.

Remaking a Masterpiece:
The developers of Bluepoint Games share some of their experience and wisdom of transporting Shadow of the Colossus from the PS2 era into our era:

Can they please stop torturing me like this and release the game already? >__< It's long finished, the game press and streamers already got it for a week now. *sigh*

Digital Foundry took a first look at Shadow of the Colossus. According to them it is among the graphically most impressive open world games, up there with Horizon Zero Dawn or Assassin's Creed Origins. But other then those games SotC looks this good and runs at 60fs on console, which is super impressive:

Additionally some beautiful bonus screens:

It's shame that the story/gameplay doesn't appeal to me at all. Visually, it looks great.

On Shadow of the Colossus, I'm not really liking the look of the remake. I still feel like the original ps2 game looked better in a "Less is more" kinda way.

On Granblue fantasy, the screenshots look like your standard fantasy game so i'd like to see more of it but holy shit it still bugs me that the only way to make trees is intersecting 2d planes.

Also literally the ONLY thing I know about Granblue Fantasy is apparently it has entire race of "Short, thicc, and huge tits" girls.

Which, normally, isn't even worth noting because anime series do that "big boobed" thing just as a general art style, but Granblue caught my interest a bit when I realized that they actually just made that a distinct RACE, while the others like Humans, have more "Normal" body types.

Whereas, this race, the Draph, have the super stylized "anime" designs naturally. the girls are short and thick with HEAVY chests, while the males are all huge muscular tanks of people.

So I actually am kinda interested in the new one just because of that hook of a full "anime race" alongside more normal people races.

I didn't play the mobile game because I heard its another RNG lootbox bullshit pay to play system, which is why I dont play most mobile games.

Dragon Ball Fighter Z really looks like the anime. :)

EVERY new DBZ game "looks just like the anime" lol.

That said, i'm still not a fan of the choppy animations during winposes, closeups, and cutscenes that Arcsys did for that and GG Rev. I get the intention during gameplay to simulate the sprite animations, but during non gameplay it looks terrible.

Really? Cause we were talking about how there's actually a filter thing in the game that you can change the way the game looks, So there could actually be a way to make the game look similar to how it looked in the original.

Also yeah Granblue looks cool and I like it's artstyle, Didn't know about that race but the designs looked cool. ( But yeah probably best in spoilers lol since there was a lot ) I haven't seen much yet about this granblue game and I don't really know much at all about the series but If more stuff gets posted here and stuff I'll keep an eye on it since it's looking good so I might get it when It comes out. Need to see more of what It's like though.

@Argentus I put your vertically-challenged pseudo-lolis in spoiler tags to spare everyone the hassle of having to scroll through a virtual mile to continue reading the thread.

Considering how many spoiler free images fill up any given page in this thread, I was sure nobody would care.

because of how "vague" everything was in the original version, your imagination filled in a lot of the visual gaps, like a dotted line effect.

This remake, it has that problem where the more they try to make it look realistic, the more obvious that it's just not.

plus it kinda loses the "mystical" feel to it without the hazy graphics. it's like a Silent Hill without the fog, it doesn't look right.

I actually think you can add back the hazy graphics though with the filters..I think anyway I'm not completely sure but there is filters you can use to take photos of the game and leave them on while your playing.

That's an awful lot of confidence to be so wrong.

For reference, each image you posted was roughly 800 vertical pixels, and you posted twenty of them. That makes a total of 16,000 pixels to scroll through, or the equivalent of almost fifteen 1080p (Full-HD) pictures posted consecutively without any breaks. Even on Tyraren's most negligent days he doesn't break half of that, and I still have to regularly edit his images to keep the thread tidy.

You've only got to wait a little while longer before you can play it, :) And then take a bunch of pictures!

Speaking of pictures (it's as if you knew I was going to post new pictures)...new screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2 were released today:

Looks very nice. Since there is no PC version for now and Sony has the exclusive marketing rights this are likely PS4 Pro shots. :)

It hurts so much to hide half the images away in spoilers. ;__;
