Ninja Gaiden Thread

I would tell you not to bother because it's like Black but worse, but since you like shitty Ninja Gaiden games, you may enjoy it anyway.
Yeah, i do still enjoy Ninja Gaiden 2.

Wait, in NG Black, ghost fish will appear alongside Doku on NORMAL?! It only appears on difficulties other than normal and ninja dog in sigma, and ghost fish won't appear alongside Doku on all difficulties in the vanilla NG.
No, ghost fish appears only on hard, i think he said he hates the fight even on normal, when ghost doku is alone, don't know why, it is like, one of the easiest bosses in the game.

Stupid camera, stupid collision detection. My appreciation of a boss fight is not directly correlated with how easy it is. The tunnel worm in Ninja Gaiden 2 is stupidly easy, but that doesn't mean I like it. Conversely, some of the Fiend Ryu fights in Black I find quite difficult, but I still like them.

The camera is not the worst on the ghost doku fight, to be honest, it is not great either, but it is one of the fights where it never got in my way, never had trouble with collision at all. To me he is not enjoyable, but he is not a problem, which is better than half of the bosses of the game already.

Fiend Ryu, i have gripes with it, the fact that i can't find anything consistent about him, when can he be hit, where are his weaknesses, how he can simply cancel into ninpo, and have an unlimited ammount of those, if i could understand properly how he works and when he is actually vulnerable, i think i would enjoy the fight more.

Berserkers on sigma? For what I understood when I played it they can be simply countered after first attack (normal difficulty and hard), using a heavy weapon makes serious damage, they (unlike in black) use the ground spell even if the camera is away from them so be careful when fighting multiple of them since moving the camera away from others they will still use that ground spell abusively, I did read that on higher difficulties and on legendary mission they behave just the same as in black, so they can´t be countered because their first attack breaks guard, the strategy is always dodge on the right moment (after the second or third swing if I remember right) and go for it =)

Another set of questions.

Other than the Dabilharo, what are the recommended alternatives against those large Ogres? Finished the Ogre Challenge in the Zarkhan Stadium but wasted too much healing supplies and sometimes, when I only keep one Ogre on my camera, another one off camera would swing its weapon and hit me, and its worse when I accidentally destroy their helmet.

What was the most common and most effective strategy against those fucking horsemen in chapter 2? Got my ass handed to them many in very hard mode in the vanilla ninja gaiden. (Meanwhile, in sigma I died like 4 times before I managed to reach the first savepoint in Chapter 1 LUL, and I still have not defeated Murai yet.)

Lastly, someone tell me how to fight Ishtaros. Majority of the time in the mission mode, she hit so many times and then died before I even knew what was happening or even figure out her attack patterns.

I know Ishtaros gets wrecked with the DDB in mission mode since she can't seem to evade the UT. or that spinning lunge attack. Been awhile since I played NG or any of the MN runs so can't say about the rest. My console died at the time and I recently bought a new PS3 a few months ago so I'll likely be in the same situation as you if I redo the whole thing again.

--------------------

The only game I have never attempted any MN is NG3 nor Razor's Edge. Not even tempted to try the game again since I only beat it like twice, did all the missions with the custom ninja and well..never touched it again.

Unlabored Flawlessness. Makes things much quicker if you can manage not to get hit at low HP. Absorb blue essence with UT charge to avoid getting too high.

Note that on Master Ninja those ogres are replaced with Vigoorian Berserkers, so be prepared to dedicate a long fucking while to a very redundant fight if you want the prize at the end.

Camp at the edges and charge a UT/premature dash-strike. Not unlike the strategy on the following boss on the bridge, actually. Just dumber and more annoying. IIRC XXY also works decently. Some people use the bow, but I sure fucking don't.

The easiest method is to remain and mid/long range. Dodge the lasers, then wait until she does the dash slide. Dodge that, then punish with XXYY. If she starts swinging around the edges of the arena, charge a 360 UT and unleash just before she stomps on you.

Keep it that way. There is nothing satisfying about that game other than maybe the trials. For me, OG Ninja Gaiden 2 is the hardest game in the series... especially when you include the DLC trials, but I will likely always enjoy the pace of Ninja Gaiden Black the best. Not to mention the enemies are more fun to fight.

Managed to nab a 4k screen shot before the game crash

Hopefully Team Ninja hits us with a remaster or NG4

Some of the effects seemed to have been cleared up and fixed with the latest build...still a way to go haha

Game looks extremely sharp in person with no jaggies ;)

"Hayabusa, who is also the main character of the Ninja Gaiden series, is an interesting case. Until now, his character design for Dead or Alive has been based on the most recent Ninja Gaiden entry. However, a new numbered Ninja Gaiden has not been released since 2012, when both Ninja Gaiden 3 and Dead or Alive 5 came out, and so the new Hayabusa has been designed especially for Dead or Alive 6 under the supervision of Ninja Gaiden director Fumihiko Yasuda. It makes us wonder if Hayabusa will have a similar appearance for a potential new Ninja Gaiden entry, but nothing of the like has been announced yet."

I love me some silver linings, and I thought it was somewhat odd they would redesign Ryu for only this game. Makes me assume a new Ninja Gaiden is closer than we think. It would line up with past times they released a new DOA and Ninja Gaiden within the same time frame.

I would love to see a new NG, as long as they take it back to NG Sigma 2 days, freaking NG 3 was by far the worst game I've played in a while. What made it even worse, was the enemies would often repeat the same line of dialouge one after another, right after eachother. "gotchuninjagotchuninjagotchuninjagotchuninjagotchunin..."

Playing in Japanese helps. I really like RE but core 3 wasn’t very fun. Still beat MN because I have to beat the highest difficulty in each game but yeah.

Troy Baker and Ali Hillis.

It'd be cool if DOA6 had a NG4 trailer or something like how NG3 had the Alpha DOA5 demo.

That makes me think about Team Ninja.

We had DOA 1, 2 and 3. And then they made Ninja Gaiden and after that, Ninja Gaiden Black, in Ninja Gaiden Black there is already DOA 4 trailers, and then, DOA 4 is released, and after that Ninja Gaiden 2, then, Ninja Gaiden 3 and DOA 5 are released in a similar time frame as well. Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden have been "walking" together for a while now. I hope we get a new NG announced around next year at least, that would be nice.
