Official Dead or Alive Xtreme Thread

Is it me or does Misaki get most of these? if not it really feels like it. It's always either Misaki or Marie/Honoka. These things are character exclusive as well right?

Might sound funny but it's pretty innovative.
There was potential to do this in doax3.

Yet they killed it off not even a year in... probably because they could scam players like they wanted to in VV instead.

Seriously though X3 originally planned for premium ticket only bikinis and everyone flipped a shit VV is 10x worse and fans just eat it up F2P or not the fuckery on VV is too much lol

Hey, at least VV actually HAS character interactions between the various girls, something X3 gutted out completely by not having any actual character interactions at all (look at Xtreme 1, 2, heck, even Paradise, where they either had the girls talking to each other and gifting each other, or otherwise had those be friendly gravures. Contrast that with Xtreme 3, where the only character interaction is one girl with the player, and the girls don't interact with each other at all unless they're competing in a minigame). That's definitely an improvement if you ask me.

You have a point there. I love the characters interactions in VV

I've said it before and I'll say it again, VV has the potential to be good but its not a game DOAX3 at least had that going for it.

If VV was on console and wasn't just looking at the girls and getting ripped off in the gatcha slots I'd play it but its not and it does. VV has all these customization options but it doesn't have ANYTHING that makes DOAX fun.

Should VV actually have some gameplay? Yes, it really should, and more than just volleyball, but also the other beach activities and even all the ones that DOAX3 cut out like wave racing or even that water slide. But at least VV managed to keep something that was a bit of a staple from the DOAX games, something that DOAX3 cut out, which was made even worse since Hayashi claimed that the reason he cut six girls out was to make the relationships "more meaningful", which is BS since none of the girls even interact in any way unless its a minigame like volleyball, butt battle, tug of war, pool hopping, or beach flags.

And personally, I think Team Ninja really should make a DOAX3U to make up for the travesty that was DOAX3, which includes all the girls, more activities, not to mention actual character interactions between the girls akin to VV at the very least, if not DOAX1/DOAX2/DOAP.

That doesn't make VV a better game though... not when
A. its not actually a game to begin with
B. You have to grind and Grind to even unlock said interactions and events
C. its only in Japanese and there's no translation mods or anything so you get nothing from the interactions anyway unless you speak Japanese which most here don't.

How well does Hitomi and Momiji interact? I'll never know because I don't understand a word of it.

A. True, not a game, it's one of the flaws.
B. I'll admit that I'm not particularly fond of grinding myself (I certainly wasn't fond of it when I did Peace Walker, where many times I had to really grind to get certain items). But at least it beats microtransactions.
C. Actually, I've been doing Japanese translations of those scenes in question (I just use my Google Translator app to do it). I've even posted a few of them onto Dead or Alive Wiki. To prove it, I'll even tell you about how well Hitomi and Momiji interact in the main episodes. Turns out they're exercise partners, and often train together to improve their fighting abilities. And their exercise regiment is a bit... extreme (how extreme you ask? Hitomi casually suggested that after stretching to release their muscles, they do 500 sit-ups as well as abs and spine exercises, with Momiji agreeing, with only Misaki being in shock over it before swallowing her pride and doing exactly that, and she's the only one who is exhausted from the ordeal, barely being able to speak at all. They also implied that other exercises they do is a nimbus run around the entire perimeter of the island, plus tree and rock climbing, and apparently even doing beach volleyball counts as part of their exercise regiment.). Apparently, they also do cooking together, though Momiji is implied to not be that good of a cook, at least compared to Hitomi. You can read up what I've gotten so far here:

Yeah, no kidding. Even though I definitely view VV in higher regard that DOAX3, I'm probably not going to buy it for a variety of reasons (for starters, I'd have to really alter my computer's time to use Japan time just to be able to play the game, and to be honest, constantly grinding for stuff isn't going to be my cup of tea, especially for limited time frames. It was already annoying enough trying to grind in Peace Walker for various design specs and ZEKE parts, which didn't even have an online time limit). Maybe if they announce a DOAX3U, and actually release it outside Asia this time around, I'd probably buy it.

I also kind of loathe VV a bit since I was reading an article yesterday where the reviewer seemed to think that DOA6 and VV are like one in the same. He posted how DOA6 was toning down the sexy stuff and how it was gonna be more mature but then he acted like TN "contradicted" themselves with the latest VV update where apparently you can pull at the girl's clothes amd harass them

It was so annoying to read -_- I don't mind the new clothes pulling and such but I wish the Misaki and the girls wouldn't look so uncomfortable since that makes it morally wrong imo if they don't want that, like with that one mode thing where you could harass the girls but they didn't go through with it after the backlash xD

To be fair, One Angry Gamer kind of agrees with you on that bit regarding the reviews. DOAX3 isn't exactly the same thing as DOA6 (even though I have my personal issues with how they're going about the toning down, which I'm not going to say any more on that subject), being different genres. And yeah, I also have to agree, making the girls look uncomfortable with wedgies does unfortunately add a lot of fire to their arguments.
