Yeah, there was a post in the video section a while back from a Japanese player that showed that most 6p's if you time them right could hit her out if it. Problem was most people would prefer to bitch than to learn the timing and punish bad habbits. That and playing in 3bar psn hell.

Also they could easily take that stance out if people start crying again so Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Quite a lot of Christie gameplay here (from 32:00 and 55:00). Didn’t have much time to go through it in detail. I noticed her new throw is not a reset throw and she still has her critical burst move from Doa 5 surprisingly.

Edit: it looks like her side step attack is her (jak)6P.

does she still have her 3pp Jak transitions? I see that they took her the second part of her 6k4k string and made it into some weird looking air grab. Does she still have it as it was in DOA5?

Couple of new moves here. Inputs are 7kk and (BT)p+kp.

It’s worth noting that after 4p, (BT)p+k is now guaranteed if not held, whereas in Doa5 it can be slowescaped ((BT)p was the only guaranteed attack).

Yes, she can still transition into Jak after 3pp.

Christie Movelist:

In terms of throws, there doesn’t seem to be a new input for her new throw, so her old 41236t throw might’ve been replaced, since 66t is still in the game.

From what I could gather from the beta, sidesteps always beat linear moves unless the linear move strikes the sidestep's recovery. So moves like 6PP & PPP won't retrack into opponents like in DOA5. On one hand it feels like string pressure will be nicely nerfed in DOA6, however JAK is going to be a crazy tool if it inherits DOA6's sidestep evasiveness. Especially since there is only 1 striking option from sidestepping (SS~S; that's too many S's lol). Essentially JAK will serve as a sidestep with numerous follow-up options in a game where sidestepping may potentially reign supreme. As for killing SS, Christie is already great at that: H+K, FC3P, P+K, 4P, 1PK...etc. take your pick! Not to mention some step-killers in DOA6 such as the first hit of a Fatal Rush can induce Fatal Stuns on sidestepping opponents.

The entire recording of the footage is from a side angle, but nevertheless, a new gameplay video has a player testing out some stuff with Christie in the training stage.

From what I've seen here that looks notable:

4k appears to no longer launch, even on stun.

H+KKK now has a purpose as an air juggle, as the last kick now goes into a bound state without requiring the opponent to be grounded. From there, 6S is guaranteed.

214p is a Fatal Stun?

It appears you can't follow up with 3p+kk from a Break Blow Cancel. Either that, or the timing is very strict.

Ahh... Long hair Christie <3. Was that 9P I saw causing a Fatal Stun during stun or was that just the starting strike of a Fatal Rush? Yeah it looks like most characters (if not all) will have a way to set up a flop bound into a Break Blow.

Wish the recorder recorded the video from the "landscape" orientation from the start haha. My neck hurts now...

Yeah, about that...

Ah... yes, my neck! Hmm... I'm guessing that's likely the first hit of the Fatal Rush resembling 9P. Hmm... Will the move track like Fatal Rushes are supposed too, or will it be a linear move? And if it is indeed 9P inducing a Fatal Stun, will the move become unsafe on block? (Also that would imply that other characters that can induce Fatal Stuns more freely).

Either way, very likely that 9P will remain as a good tool for Christie in CQC.

Hey, some Christie gameplay at Sakura Fight Fiesta featuring @ULTIMa Ivanov!
Thanks for posting it.

Here are a few things I noticed about Christie:
- the animation of DOA5 9p has been replaced with S
- 9p is now DOA5 236p (mid punch guard break)
- 236p is now a brand new move with close hit properties (it looks like (JAK)6p)
- 46p is now a guard break
- 6t is the new throw that looks like her wall throw
- 66t and (hcb)t are still in the game
- it does seem like she lost her wall throw (6t) when she has her back against the wall (this would be big nerf if it’s gone) Edit: she still has it, but the input is now 4t
- some of her strings are less delayable (especially 1pk, which is nearly not delayable at all now)
- p+k is not a fatal stun
- 4k is not a launcher anymore

If anything else comes to mind, I’ll add it, but I think these are the main changes you’d notice if you played her like in Doa5.

Kwiggle doesn't seem very enthusiastic about most of her changes in his stream. Her launch height seems lower than most characters', her juggle damage seems worse, her old 4t is completely gone, jak k leaves her in negative on counter hit.

However, she actually has frame advantage now! Her jak h+k guard breaks and leaves her at +2 and her backturned options are improved. 66p stuns on normal hit.

In the chat Dr.Dogg also said the day 1 patch will have balance changes already, so let's wait and see...I mean it's still Christe, she probably won't be awful, but I don't like stuff being taken away from characters. That's the laziest way of balancing a game.

Hmm... From what I gathered, Christie's stun & reset game has been beaten with the nerf bat, but her guard break game has improved. JAK~H+K at +2 is a nice GB to complement JAK~4P. Not to mention that JAK~H+K comes out a lot faster than JAK~4P, and complements her backturn game.

Abusing her GB's will likely be key now, since her throw game will be shit besides Walled~66T. Removing her 4T is completely unnecessary if the goal was to nerf her stun game (I.e. Christie should still be just as reset/pressure heavy as DOA5 if her stun game is nerfed).

Her guard breaks along with her excellent neutral game and whiff punishment opportunities. 236P is still really good and she can still carry people to the corner of a BNB combo and she is still dangerous as hell near a wall. We still have the tools to murder people quickly.
