I disliked many of the faces in T7, but I don't think they looked "younger". Its problems are the cheekless, pointy as hell, aging faces that have been plaguing 3DCG and the dead, blank eyes. Lili was one of the worst offenders; she looked a thousand times better in her decade old debut game and actually pretty close to the renders, then Tag 2 and 7 took a giant shit all over it. Beyond that, the gloss, hair physics and obligatory grain filter all need to die. T7's visuals was a dumpster fire on so many levels.

On the subject of roided up wide bodies, I noticed it way more in SC than Tekken. That and the downy faces are some of the reasons I still play SC games from 2 gens ago more than the next gen ones.

And this. There's technically good, and there's artistically good.
I don't even consider realistic a positive nowadays when so many works chasing after it either died on the uncanny valley or looked the exact same as one another. How could you not when you were all in a rush to the death to imitate the same subject? Or the same cliches, rather, because every time I poke my head out of the window for 5 seconds reality was never as gritty, smoky and ugly as what many of these "realistic" games and movies have been trying to depict.

rip hair volume forever. I didn't think they'd make a game with even more rigid physics than 5, but here we are. The flowing hair, dresses and skirts in 4 still blow both out of the water despite being a gen behind.

The hair in the images of Kasumi and Leifang are edited with Photoshop. Someone painted more hair over them.
This is how ugly and thin the tentacle hair of DOA4 and DOAX2 actually looked like:

It fit the anime doll aesthetic, but now it would look very out of place on the more realistic models.

Oh no it's just a comparison of the how the length of the hair used to be much longer & neater. How is it a game that is old af has better hair & physics than a game that is almost about to be released. Team Ninja really need to start paying attention, we're only giving them feedback on crucial things that they need to improve upon to help them make a great game

DOA6 also has the tentacle hair.. But it's worse the hair physic in DOA6 it's small with the lost hair. Kasumi, Kokoro.. hair is supposed to go down to her lower back.

Thank god my fave Lisa and her Halle Berry realness is safe from all this shade.
Let Kasumi and Kokoro breathe, Bundles can cost alot of money you know?!

In all seriousness though I'm actually a fan of how the hair looks in doa6 and think it looks good but I know the hair argument is a classic point of contention so you all can proceed I suppose. :p
