  • I can't believe you Namco. Finally, a good customization in a LONG time, BUT only in arcades -_-

One of the many reasons why I sold Tekken 7. It's just underwhelming in so many ways. I sold Tekken 7 to buy DOA5. I can't buy 2 games on the same year, it's just too much to spend.

Hope some of this stuff at least comes to console versions one day. It is lacking in content. Good thing you sold Tekken 7 for DOA5. Tekken 7 is only good for online mode anyway.

There's only 2 and a half months left before the seasons pass support ends. There's barely anything I can do with Tekken 7 in offline. After story mode, that's it. Treasure battle wasn’t fun.

What makes it worse in Tekken 7's online is that its netcode on PS4/XB1 is not as good as Tekken Tag 2. It's a little bit better than Tekken 6. Dropping the easiest combos and losing a round only because of lag is frustrating.
Looking back, it's a shame I started playing DOA when the game is already "dead" even though I've already known about DOA since years ago.

well I've technically been with the series since 1998... I just never got any of the games until waaaay after they were relevant or was "dead" DOA5 -5LR was the first time I played DOA when it was new and fresh. It was also the first time I actually learned to play and not just spam P and K

I'm kinda young, so I couldn't get into the early 2000's games in the start of their lifespan. Like when I played Soul Calibur III for the first time, it was already 2008 because I was already old enough to play fighting games or just games overall. I never played Soul Calibur II until HD online came out because I was just a kid who barely knows anything about the world during the game's birth in 2002.

I wouldn't really count Yakuza 6's VF5FS as a "current-gen" fighting game. You can technically play VF5FS, TTT2 & Tekken 6 on XBone but I don't count either as current-gen games because they're last-gen games that are simply playable on current-gen hardware.

DOA5LR, & Tekken 7 are the only main 3D fighters on current-gen until SC6 releases.
The Bloody Roar series needs to be revived. It's my first fighting game!

Welp, getting myself a PC emulation :D My favorite was Kadonashi and the guest characters, Law and Paul. It was a very fitting game for those two because they always cause trouble.

Just download a ps2 emulgator and search the iso file for Urban Reign and you got it, and ooh yes I almost forgot that the game had tekken guest characters! Hopefully Namco makes a sequel to the game in the future (probaly not but we can always hope~)

God Bless PC Gaming !!! :)
Props to Koenji with those mods that made Tekken 7 more beautiful than it actually looks. But of course, that's just on PC...and only a mod.

Ever since I saw his latest mod, I started to get those Tekken 5 emotions and nostalgia. It made me happy, but the same time, so damn heartbroken.
Street Fighter FGC is probably the most patient among them. They can wait for 8 years for another game to come out without being demanding.

Not from what I've seen... They're just as demanding as the rest of us...

Apparently, they started to become demanding since Capcom messed up with the lack of content of SFV. Before that game showed up, they still played SFIV like it's still new.

That Makes Sense... USF4 has a huge Roster...

All those matchups keeps the game fresh.
I miss being in school...and school festivals as well. I hated going to school when I was a child, but it feels like I miss it now.
I don't use arcade stick so much, but it feels like the moves I found difficult to get used to on pad feels easier to get used to on stick.

LoL... I mean using a regular arcade stick with my left hand on the buttons and my Right hand on the Stick.

I have a friend who plays like that.

Although... wouldn't it be easier to just mount the Stick Part Upside Downside ?

Well, if only there are games that can make you change the entire control layout, especially the directions, it would be.

The Devil May Cry Games let you do this... its a beloved feature by many of its mans
DSP still doesn't know what the word "scrub" means despite being on the FGC for a much longer time than I have.
Why isn't DOA2 Ultimate and DOA3 not backwards compatible on XB1? C'mon Microsoft, I wanna play those games. I only played DOA4 and DOA5.

I didn't know there was a 3.2. I thought 3.1 was the last one. How do I recognize the first ones and the updated ones?
    Force_of_Nature

DOA3.1 is the JP release. DOA3.2 is the PAL release. I.e Japanese boxart for JP (<3 Ayane), and European boxart for PAL (though it looks similar to the NA boxart).

I see. I might get the 3.1 because my Xbox only plays NTSC-J games since it's the Asian version.
How do people play many fighting games and get good at all of them? I can't even get good at one game unless I spend years of dedication.

The difference of the mechanics of other fighters somewhat makes it hard, and also having to learn the matchups of every character. It took me a year or more to learn everybody- their moves, key moves, and frame data in just one fighting game.

I don't play a lot of them. Tekken, Soul Calibur, and DOA is pretty much all I play with dedication. I used to play SF, MK, MvC in the past, but it didn't last long.

Well yeah... there are Character Archetypes that appear in many Fighting Games... so that helps simplify the Learning of Matchups a teeny tiny bit.

But yeah its Super Difficult learning so many Games.

Thats why they called Sonic Fox a Prodigy.

It's because the fighting game fundamentals learned in one fighting game can transfer over with basically any fighting game like Argentus said. Not to mention the people that learn multiple fighting games competently tend to have a more focused personality, tenacity and a knack for fighting games in general. I.e. More casual minded people tend to progress slower than more competitive-minded players.
Tanukana vs Yuyu was a fight I've been waiting for. Yuyu will always be my favorite female Tekken player. She beat Knee once during 2015.
I still don't know how to respond to compliments... Maybe I'm not nice enough to know that.
I used to play Eliot a lot back in DOA4 because I like how hard he hits. I never touched him in DOA5 because of Akira.
I don't play a lot of games... I usually stick to one game for a very long time if I decide to become dedicated with it.

I usually play like 2 games at a time. One being my main game, and the other I just play as a way of taking a break from my main game.

It slows down my learning growth in a single game when I play a lot of games. Trying to play Street Fighter, Injustice 2, KOF, and DOA at the same time will only make me less focused on learning a single game, and it makes it less interesting as well.

    Oh you mean Fighting games....

Yeah I also limit myself to just 2.
I would prefer that throws cannot be guard impacted because they're on the same category as unblockable moves, and unblockables can't be GI.
    Shirataki Tsume
    Shirataki Tsume
And throws are like the weakest moves in the game. If you get caught by it, it can be escaped, they have the shortest range of all moves and they're mostly highs, and they are on counter hit when interrupted.

Same ideas go to DOA's throws. Throws in DOA can't be countered by holds, only by strikes. And Tekken's throws can't be parried or reversed. I wish Soul Calibur will carry this kind of throw system as well.
