  • So from the looks of the story for DOA 6: If I have to try to piece everything together here's my bold predictions:
    KasumiLover
    KasumiLover
I don't think the ninjas will be involved in the tournament, they haven't been involved really since DOA4 I believe. And I don't think that'll happen with Rig, Rig knows his identity, he was just creating a facade in DOA5 so he and his father Donovan could set their plan in motion to steal the ninjas' fight data

    T..J. Bernard
In the DOA 6 character description for Rig it says he still doesn't know his origins really. It's possible that it's still a huge facade but it's also possible that Donovan may have said some stuff to get Rig to think that stuff and now he's truly questioning that stuff since he's been in NY for however long he was in there being bored looking at his tattoo's for the time being.
    T..J. Bernard

I think the ninja's will. With the Diego cutscene, it's possible that Rig will likely compete in the tournament. Having recognized him as that dude who held his own for a bit with Hayate & Kasumi before holding the L, they'll wonder what's the motive and then compete to see what Donovan's planning with Rig in there.
I hope I'm not the only one who thinks Diego looks stiff and Rig had to be downplayed by the player so Diego looked good. But it's early.
Rig got a high with 6kk, new combo variety, Idk that flip stuff he does, and he retains his other good stuff. I like it. He just needs a..

Parry from bending like Sarah and he’s good money. B-)

Diego is I guess DOA’s Miguel. So we have street fighting as one new style.
I gotta stop trying to prove myself every time I play and just enjoy gaming for what it is. As much as I hate losing, learnings always fun.

Sometime you just want see the fruits of your labour.

I also feel like I need to prove myself sometimes. But once I do then I can have some fun.

I know how you feel. I resigned myself to the fact that there are thousands of moves to master in both games. I may as well stop stressing so hard over it, and enjoy the journey. The rest will fall into place. :)

This status spoke to me again.
So far with the options of Kasumi, Ryu, Helena, Zack, Hayate, & Jann, I feel that Jann's been my best option so far.

So with that, Jann bouta be the main for now alongside Rig and I feel Akira (Training in DOA now), Sarah, & Jacky my Co-VF Mains. Tekken's pure Hwo. There's no one else intriguing or that I'm good with to use with Hwo. And I'm still waiting for Yun Seong.
In regards to the two issues I've been seeing consistently in regards to the DOA 6 costume debate & the FSDC debate I have this to say:

    T..J. Bernard
With the costumes, I am all for the idea of them covering up the women more. I hope though that the bro's get some dope costumes though but I'm happy for the less revealing outfits. DOAx3's for all that stuff. I like them focusing on the gameplay aspect more.

With the FSDC, it's hard to say since I've still yet to return from City Project. But from watching I can say that I feel this is a 2d mechanic in which I'm not a huge fan of. I feel this definitely changes the whole meta of the game, even if not many players can execute this. But I'll have to see more to really chime in on this.
I'ma assume this FSDC thing gonna change the whole meta of DOA 5's tier list. I see a lot of characters bumped up possibly.

I believe this is the 3rd thing now that "Breaks the Game".

As for whether it is or isn't allowed is sort of irrelevant. They can't Enforce it so lets just hope its as inconsistent as Umholdables.

Taking advantage of glitches and exploits is common through out fighting games (smash, 3rd strike,sf4, mvc3 etc) , that said if doa5 reaches a point where victory is determined by who can exploit this glitch better, ill probably stop playing altogether, same reason I stopped playing Mario kart ds, if you couldn't glitch consistently there was no point to playing
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
Cause being able to exploit offered such a huge advantage that non glitching players were left on thr dust, literraly. Hopefully that won't be the case with doa5, but we'll see
DOA 6 looking good. I feel there's gonna be a way stronger emphasis on the neutral. Always a good thing to go with. I wonder how...
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
Rig gonna turn out. Will he have the same sit-downs or nah (Assuming he's still in the game)? (P.S. AQUA!!!!!!!! :'( )
Man I'm really thinking, Tekken should've put Forest Law instead of Marshall Law in the tekken's after 3. Another thing they missed out on.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
They had more potential to work with in regards to Forest than Marshall. After Tekken 2, I felt there wasn't much Marshall needed to do besides go for "I'M THE GREATEST" which Paul's already doing and it would just be cheesy.

I do love me some Jeet Kune Do characters....

And really ?... Marshal seems alil young to be a daddy of a grown man.

Quite frankly it doesn't matter. The Laws are the token Bruce Lee clones. The point of the character is to give the players their Jeet Kune Do fix. It's not like Jacky whom's actually unique.

Before I leave (For evangelism stuff), I figure I might attempt to make Rig's MU list on tournament scenario. Here's my opinion:

    T..J. Bernard
This will be something else, I'll update the more I play DOA with Rig often. Plus this does not mean that I win against the 6's all the time. In fact, I get crushed by Gruff's Lisa, any of Hoodless's characters, KP & XCal's Bass, and many other examples. This is something I thought of considering a tournament scenario and looking into how can these characters stack up for ft2 or ft3 scenarios.

Is this a personal list ?

Not really. It’s something, I’m trying to come up with as I continue to learn about the game. This is based off my exp and what I watch.
As much as I love Tekken and grinding and stuff, the biggest thing that holds Tekken from truly elevating as a game is the lack of tutorial.

Your Way leads to that very situation.

If the player has played any other 3D fighter before or even a 2D fighter to a lesser extent, then yeah, they'd probably be able to pick up Tekken 7 reasonably easily. However, if the player has never played a FG before, or has never played one competitively, then a tutorial would make sense because they'd be lost beyond sample combos & 10-hit strings.
    Force_of_Nature
    Force_of_Nature
On the other hand, you could make the argument that the players serious about leveling their game up to a competitive level would naturally seek out the Tekken 7 content online somewhere. What I'd like to see in a fighting game (such as a hypothetical DOA6) are character tutorials. I found them neat in BlazBlue as a good starting point.
Idk why someone out of whatever reason, would attempt to mirror with utmost passion lose and demand a ft5 for failing to troll me.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
If someone wants to ft5 just to try to prove they're better then you're better. I don't waste time on ft5's for pride reasons. I'd rather run sets or play tournaments. Set's allow me and _____ to learn MU's and improve each other and tournament's where all that knowledge is executed at the highest level.

Because some players, generally online-only players, can have an ego. Just ignore them.

It's all good. I just find it funny at this point. Winning FT5's to me is similar to getting high rank (Not to trash rank overall). It's not a bad thing but I feel if it's for the wrong reason, there's no point to doing it. Doing either to say they're better than ______ is one of those pointless reasons.
After a year of thinking, I think I have a better DOA tier list now to consider. This is my tournament tier list:
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
You could literally do 2P from Leon (+1) into 3P = now a 12F. The problem is the safety on tossing 2P since the low is i14, but then his 6PP is also i14 so difference on startup is no different. It's getting rid of old habits from players using certain moves all the time that causes Leon to make himself feel bad. I still have habits with 6PP myself due to 5U moments.
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
I find Leon's 6PP to be terrific if it lands on stun rather than on block. 3PP is a negative GB, but it's safe and it jails I believe. Leon definitely isn't the best but I find it extremely hard to believe he'll be at the bottom, I was watching Flack play him in a JPN tournament and doing serious damage on Terurock and that Lisa player. I think it really depends here.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m actually liking Ling as a pocket. The amount of creativity I can do is almost like Hwoarang.

Ayane was my 1st main. Until I figured out how horrid I was with her. Kokoro was another person I considered to be a main. Idk why but I hopped off her. Maybe cause I did so much 2h+k's. I might experiment again. See how creative I can get with them both. @Force_of_Nature @Bacaww

    Force_of_Nature
Eh, you could always just screw creativity and just play Leon.
Should one go the route of Honoka? She does steal a bit of Rig's moves....

Guarantee at the wall with 7p.... 9 frames.....
    T..J. Bernard

But she negative on some of the moves I actually would utilize. Her range's meh.

If you're comfortable with a 9 framer who has a lot of stance transitions but poor range I say go for it XD
The more I look at other games tier lists, the more I apply it to DOA and see a bit of Correlation.

For example: Take Aris recent tekken tier list with Heihachi at B and the reason being "Why play Hei when DJ does better and your skillset would benefit more with him." I can see that with DOA at times.

    like Guile and Ryu...

    Or Mika & Zangief...

Edit: Personally when I find a "Why play this dude when that dude does the same but better" scenario... I consider it a flaw in the Game's Design.
I wonder what would happen with DOA if the standard jab is the same frame instead of distinguishing 9 framers from 10-11 framers.
Returning to gaming for a brief moment sure is fun. I miss the shenanigans in a way. Stick DOA feels a bit different from Tekken Stick.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
P.S. Bayman feels like a fun mess around character to pocket. I might actually have a DOA line-up ready for next game.
I wonder if they never made DOAX as a series if people would take DOA seriously as a fighter? Sometimes I think that would've been the case.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
I get everyone's point of view. And fan service is in every game indeed. I feel that way in regards to this because when I look at the aspect of DOA, besides the fighting, a big aspect is that fan service. It's one thing for a game to have fan service and that's it. It's another to have a spin-off and in addition perpetuate this image where we have many ryona videos and such compared to other fighters.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
I think the only game where Ryona's at a high level for it is in like Rumble Roses and well that game had it's brief run. This isn't me bashing the game. It's a fun game and I like the mechanics (Something I wish were improved but that's every fighter). However, one negative aspect I wish never came up was that fan service. I look at DOAX as a joke that should've never been made to begin with cause...
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
Now instead of there being a DOA6 that I can be hyped for (It's still coming. I'm faithful to that), there's all this DOAX crap and all this Misaki or Luna or whoever that other chick is that I can absolutely care less for. Plus the aspect where I saw in a forum where there were discussions about the female to male stuff I think adds to that reason I feel this kind of way.
