    well, so far the hardest part of dark souls remastered is unlearning the conventions of the newer games

    can only roll in 4 directions when locked on, no running while locked on, can't walk and estus at the same time, bunch of stuff like that. and for some reason npcs attack you after you hit them only once, i dont remember that being a thing in the original

    Actually its not the number of Hits...

    The NPC Damage Thresholds are just lower... hence it takes one shot to piss them off...

    I just did it yesterday.

    It took two shots of a plus 10 Uchigatana to piss off Petrus...

    And three Composite Bow Shots to piss off The New Londo Sealer.

    Overall the Higher Framerate has made the whole game easier... I can Parry more shit now...

    But to be fair I've been taking advantage of Shortcuts to aquire end game resoures....

    I had a +15 weapon by the time I encountered the Taurus Demon.

    The whole "red/blue enemies can only be killed by weapons with corresponding colors" mechanic needs to unfuck itself out of existence

    You're also shortchanging the PS4 terribly. Try God of War 4, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Yakuza 0, The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, NieR: Automata, NiNoKuni II, Nioh, Titanfall 2, Dragon Age 3, Dishonored 2, Overwatch, Xcom 2, etc. Can keep going and this is just from my collection.

    PS2 lasted 5 years until PS3 was a thing, PS1 only lasted 4 years.

    PS3 was actually longer than usual and Sony is saying PS4 still has 3 years at least.

    ^ Yup exactly. People still play PS3 to this day and it released in 2006. PS2 had its last game developed sometime in 2012 or 2013 IIRC, and it released in 2000. PS5 will be for gamers that want to stay on top of console gaming tech, whereas the PS4 will be for those not ready to jump to next gen. Been like that for at least a few gens now.

    From what I can tell (From the games at least), the dub is super hit or miss, you have your actually good performances (which are severely limited) , you have performances which are just average, then you have your who the fuck thought this was a good idea performances (Looking at you kurokuma)

    Dubs are always trash. But yeah, if you care to watch the the anime, you wanna play the DR1 and 2 VNs first, then watch the DR3 anime, then play the DR3 VN.

    When watching the DR3 anime though, you're actually supposed to watch the two arcs in alternating order:

    Future Arc 1 > Despair Arc 1 > Future Arc 2 > Despair Arc 2, etc. Then watch the single Hope Arc episode.

    Games are pretty decent dubbed, aside from a few characters. DR2 and DRV3 are REALLY good dubbed with some fairly notable VAs like Wendee Lee, Julie Ann Taylor, Erica Mendez, Erika Harlacher(Ann in Persona 5), Kira Buckland(recently famous for 2B) and others.

    doa tag is all right, but that's all that it is. I like it when a game is clearly built for tag team gameplay, and not just a "let's toss in a tag mode cause those are cool, right?" (mk9 did the same thing and it was busted as shit)
