I actually have seen an instance of One Forumn having a bunch of threads, none of which were visited because everybody was huddled together in the general thread talking about anything and everything...
Basically it was just like Discord and like @deathofaninja said... it was messy... I hated it...
On the otherhand... @Chapstick has a good poinr though.
If a new interview comes out, you can make a topic on that interview. If new moves come out you can make a move list. I was about to draw the comparison to discord, which is also offered. We need help growing these types of topics and it will never happen if the community can't move past one big discussion thread as their main source.
If it gets locked there is an explanation as to why it happens. The messy thread is something I personally get lost in, and I think most people do, and I am happy to see it locked. I am sorry you are so offended by this and that topic is the only reason you come here.
it got locked and deleted because two people were arguing *and wouldn’t stop out of the like 20 people that followed that thread. So the obvious solution is nuke the thread and fuck the others
& second don’t act like this hasn’t been a regular occurance for the last 4 years where the general discussion threads (where I’d argue you get the quickest news about the game on this entire site (a big reason a lot of people follow them)) just disappear
It's usually more than just the arguing; it's also a lack of being on topic and making it harder to sort out what is new. The quickest way would be to create a topic as soon as it comes out. Stories on the home page are discussed and edited in a draft board, and we still have information that comes out of our posts a day or two later with details that were never touched on in any of that messy post.
If I was a lurker on FSD I would be LESS encouraged by a severe lack of structure and a car pile of conversations in one... and people don't want to organize it for what reason? Because they don't want to, and if they don't get it they feel fucked and threaten to stop posting. It's really not that big of a deal... is it?
but then specific threads usually get locked too, if the topic isn't approved
