  • Why does Steam keep lying about a Game's Size ?

One moment its like 500MB but when it starts downloading its 2.7GB...

THIS ISN'T HOW EXPECTATIONS WORK, VALVE !!!

LoL... Oh My God... The Bugs !!!
On the Subject of Auto Combos (Fatal Rush, Stylish Mode, etc)... on thing I've noticed is... they're really not all that Flashy...

Which I feel like is a complete failure because the whole point of this mechanic was to let casuals jump in and do cool stuff... but I'm in their mashing my face off and all I get is one chain into a special. BORING !!!
Okay so its not just me... other people have reported having problems executing QCF/QCB Motions in UNIST too...

Apparently its always been wonky since the first game in 2014 and they just never bothered to fix it due to the community's "You just need to Git Gud" mentality to every issue the game has (including the Netcode).

What's the issue? Don't think I've encountered a problem yet.
It just occured to me that Fighting Games are the only genre where you use special move motions to do... well... anything.

    Lulu
True... but then Skate isn't a genre... its just one game.

FIFA and PES use them for Performing Tricks... in FIFA they are kinda useless... only good for trolling your friends when you intentionally force penalties.

Skate isn't a genre? Ever heard of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? Skateboarding is a genre.

So why do the General Threads keep getting locked anyways ?

I've never really been in one so I'm curious as to whats wrong with them...

Do not care about amount of comments to the quality of the browsing and posts in each topic. 5 posts in one topic would probably be more informative than sorting and scrolling through a wall of pointless gifs and people shouting at each other from different sides and conversations. I've seen it work out here plenty of times, and you are downplaying it and being a twerp, but I get that bad habits are hard to break.

Now now... lets not say things we can't take back...
If it doesn't go active on Frame 1 (or even Frame 0) then I won't even look twice at it !!!
So you know ArcSys has interactive 3D lobbies right ?

Apparently when a popular youtube Streamer comes on... they literally form a single file line to play that streamer.

    The internet is weird man...

But I can't tell Carl's true differences between every single game because I don't use him.

Yeah but Carl's one saving grace is because Nirvana is only controlled by the drive button, he can be played on Pad by making only one single adjustment.

But with Arakune and his curse mechanic requiring negative for all the standard attack buttons means you would have to remap all the attack buttons to the triggers and bumpers and then adopt the 4 finger grip to make the most out of Arakune on Pad.
    Lulu
    Lulu
Litchi and Kokonoe are like Carl Starter Edition with their drives serving as pale immations of Nirvana. I'm only going to remap my drive button for Kokonoe to complete her Expert Trial 25.
Jump Force is yet another Tag game ?.... WHYYYYYYYY ? :(

Can't I have just 1 vs 1 ? Is that too much to ask ?

On the other hand atleast its an Actual 3D Fighting Game...

If this turns out to be just as good as Pokken then it might become a thing. :)

Still not playing it though... 3 vs 3 is entirely way too many... I'd rather play Ultimate Ninja Storm.
So apparently BBCT is not as Accessible as everyone says it is... all the Negative Edge Characters retained their Negative Edge inputs and all the inconveniences that come with it...

And for the 100th time...BBTAG DOES NOT HAVE AUTOCOMBOS.
    The Spine
    The Spine
Firstly, what "negative edge" characters are you referring to, and what are they doing? Secondly, elaborate on what makes you insist BBTag doesn't have an autocombo system? Is it because it doesn't go into a super?

They have moves that work only when the button is released... in Yukiko's Case all three of her Face Buttons have negative edge variations of a special move so shes definitely not gamepad friendly...

As for the "Smart Combos"... they are literally just Chains/Strings... thats all they are... Functionally Indifferent from what we have here in DoA.

They are absolutely nothing like BB/GG's Stylish Mode...

I'm not saying that because they don't go into Super... i'm saying that because they litetally don't do anything other than chain normals together... which is what BB has always done before on Technical Mode.

Okay I'm in... that was weird.

See... this is why I've never been a big fan of Steam.
So Among many of the things that UNIST does right... it also allows you to change the in game speed in Missions & Tutorials... unless if I'm missing something, this feature is more or less useless. Its Amazing... but Useless.

    JusTheBest29
I normally used that feature for when I would look at a demonstration and needed to look at it in slow motion to see where I may have messed up.

Yeah slow mo for Demos is useful... but I feel like actually trying to do the move yourself while the game is running in slow does more harm than good since you won't be able to use that feature in an actual match.
So it looks like Dead Or Alive is the only fighting game that allows you to bind one function to Multiple Buttons.

Man... the more I play other games the more I notice how many things DoA gets right.

NEVER TAKE THE BOOB SIMULATOR FOR GRANTED !!! :)
    Lulu
    Lulu
To be fair... the last 5 games were I had this button binding issues were ArcSystem Works games... so theres an obvious pattern there.

They should really fix that though... their games are the ones that definitely need that feature the most.

There's lots of potential macros in ArcSys' games so it's not like you're likely to have a button not serving a purpose. And it's not like SF which wastes 6 of your buttons just for single attacks.
    Lulu
    Lulu
Unfortunately Macros aren't going to help make Negative Edge characters any easier to play...

You really do have to two of the exact same move mapped to different parts of the comtroller.

    Unless you're playing Stick...
BBCT's autorun is interesting... I don't think Arcsys made Dashing easy to appeal to casual players... I think they did it to lure players into More Offensive/Aggressive play.
    Lulu
    Lulu
Ofcourse one thing that is obviously easier is Frame 1 Microdashing... since the Autodash is a legit dash... you can Kara cancel it into into your normals and even your special moves with little to no effort.

You have to use this technique to complete Ragna's last combo Challenge since a regular B chain won't go far enough to reach the opponent after Dead Spike... or at the very least make it reach more consistently

In the general BB discord you can go to the character specific discords and in those character specific discords there are documents, usually google docs, on how the character plays, combos, and other things. Just fyi in case you didn't know.

Yeah I was there for my specific character...

Great People... just don't stray and wonder into the NSFW Channel. :O lol... I don't think I can ever look at Kokonoe the same way I used to after what I saw in there.

Edit: Still don't like Discord though...
You know whats so amazing about Dead Or Alive and our Community ?

You never get responses like: "You should pick X because shes a good beginner character for learning the game." As often as you do every where else just because of how well designed the game... you can pick whoever you want and Adapt... EASY !!!
    Force_of_Nature
    Force_of_Nature
SC's another game where you can just pick whoever and will encounter decent success once you've learned the ins & outs of your chosen character. IMO, 3D fighters tend to have better roster balance than most 2D fighters thanks to a better balance of tools & mechanics. However, some people erroneously believe that 3D fighters are easier to play than 2D fighters, despite 3D having more complex gameplay.

3D fighters are just better at "pick up & play" gameplay, whereas 2D fighters feel relatively harder earlier on. Your issue with air dashers like BlazBlue is that you're still a noob at the genre so everything's going to seem particularly difficult until you pick up the mechanics & metagame like second nature. (However, I am in no way saying that BlazBlue or Guilty Gear are easy or simple games; they're not).

Actually as long 2D resign themselves to using Motions for special moves then they're always going to be a pain in the ass.

Funny thing about Guilty Gear and BlazBlue is.... GG easier to learn... but BB is just easier to play.

The whole debate about which one is harder was confusing because people weren't specific about what type of difficulties each game brings up.
Why does every Ninja and their mother have an Izuna Drop ?
    Lulu
    Lulu
LoL... its just so weird seeing anybody other than Hayabusa and Kagemaru doing it.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Eh, not really, I'm not surprised if I see any ninja at this point doing it. In Ninja Gaiden 2 for instance Ayane has an Izuna Drop of sorts and Guy from Street Fighter/Final Fight also has an Izuna (SF4 air command grab). Ninjas in Capcom and Team Ninja games are flashy and the Izuna Drop is probably one of the most iconic and flashiest moves used by them in video games ever since Ryu used it.

If it's not Hayabusa; it's not a real Izuna. But it looks like Mama approves.
Kokonoe's Trial 10 Hard is a giant pain in the ass... Stupid Rocket Loops. Luckily its only a Fatal Counter Combo so I'm not going to bother mastering it... Optimizing Damage isn't Kokonoe's specialty anyway.
I can now watch Anime Fighting Games without being completely Confused... I consider that progress... maybe one day I'l be able to play them.
