as much as i don't like force techs, not having them after so long is weird, 'specially when it feels like more recent doas were designed to have them. funny this is never a problem when i go back to play older titles like 1 and 2, but those games are so different so it's no biggie there

@Onryoki Similar to 5LR but if you didn't tech immediately you'd 100% be forced up. There were almost no invincibility frames on the ground until the enemy does a roll. There were loadssss of great setups. You'd either finish your combos for max damage or do a FT setup.

@Onryoki I don't recall the specifics for how the ground game was changed in Ultimate, but essentially, force techs were much easier to do and guaranteed FTs were relatively common. Plenty of characters had loops that were essentially hard knockdown -> guaranteed FT, though some characters did it better than others (I think Helena was infamous for her FT setups).

@Camel with 2 thumbs yeah, the old DOA games were better without FTs as it fit into the game's style at the time. But as there ARE ground hits in DOA6 and NO FTs, it's really weird and overall isn't that fun.

I suddenly realised why I don’t want FT back. Slow characters are fucked when they get teched up.

Even if FTs were gone, slow characters get blown up on oki. Because they're slow.
People are laying on the ground for way too long because they can. It's wack.
