It's definitely in my top 3 favorite franchises. I own them all and I gotta say each new installment gets better than the last. They did a great job remaking the first game. I hope Re;Birth 2 will be just as great.

It's already out on VITA but I have to wait for it to come to steam ( if it does... >_> ) but yeah! I own HDN, MK2 and Victory. They're pretty entertaining. The dialogue is hilarious.

Yeah, the dialogue is just great, lol. The original HDN plays very.. different than the others. It has the most references than any other HDN game but the battle system is just really weird. You aren't really missing out minus the scenes with NISA but still, Re;Birth tells the story much better. I love Noire, Neptune, Vert, and Compa, and if DLC counts, MAGES. Love the Steins;Gate references.
