Would love to some Rock Lee...

What Discipline does he use anyway.... I've noticed he's style is not identical to Might Guy's.

I think it was taijutsu. He was similar to Jackie Chan.

Taijutsu is just one of those Words Naruto uses like Sexy Jutsu...

I mean the still he uses in terms of Martial Arts... it looks like Taekwondo.
Question: is there like a record of w-l’s vs a particular character?

If there is... Sarah would be right on top for me.
Plays DOA wired. Only 2 people above 3 bar. Sigh. I guess retirement's my only option at this point.

Thought you already quit online... I mean that's what you said a few weeks ago.

I try my hardest to. But for some weird reason I always get back on. Maybe level 8 cpu too boring to fight.

And I said it yesterday also. Just saying. My mind all over the place.

After some time looking at both arguments, I personally agree with both. They’re both right in regards to tekken, maybe even DOA somewhat. I feel that all in all, the goal should be to get people invested so they can play offline (since online’s online). But if I’m to look from a casual’s perspective, there’s some level of unbalance that can turn off casuals.

However, at the same time, people have to acknowledge that they have to put the work in for both games. Like I can hop into COD and dominate regardless of skill-level because it caters to casuals. DOA and Tekken do not. If people play for only like a month, quit cause of unbalance, and come back after COD hype dies or whatever and resume whatever then what can I say.

I may sound like a hypocrite but for my case, I played for close to a year seriously. And I can play offline (I’m still free but I have more fun), but online reverses everything for me. Online to me doesn’t make me better. I feel worse every time. Online doesn’t help me improve. Online gives me delay and lag regardless of if I’m wired or wifi (yesterday’s stream before my meltdown showcased that).
Playing randoms have to be the most irritating thing ever. But :).

If there is one fighting game series that has to return in a competitive environment, it's definitely VF.

    I'm probably just wrong.

Haven't been to VFDC in a While.

VF is alive but in a different type of alive. Community-wise, fan arts, tournaments etc. What makes VF dead is the game support along with the online community. The game series isn't being supported by Sega (least for now maybe?). No updates, no information about a sequel, no talks from the devs.

You could say that VF is walking around with it's eyes closed. #StayWoke #SleepWalkingTactics

VF5FS was a tourney at Canada Cup 2015. But died out by 2016.
Looking over a post a while back about boosting tourney appearances. I feel that if DOA did tourneys like Capcom cup or TWT there'd be....

Oh yeah, Ryona videos. I'm not one to judge for stuff they put out, but videos like that is pushing DOA's fighting spirit away and a game worth taking serious.

Like mentioned in my previous comment, not one to judge for what they want to put out but if the entire search results is nothing but that and covering up PSN recent game media for the game then that's a problem because any "new" players upcoming would get the image first hand on what they think it is instead of what it's actually "suppose" to be. A "Fighting" game with sex appeal quirks.

^ Yes, exactly. It's a significant issue. A lot of people have the wrong idea about what DOA is (DOAX doesn't help matters, and the controversies it induces).

One of the worst things I hear from some people in my scene is: "I want to learn DOA, but I have no one to play with" (And thus plays SFIV or SFV instead).
Man, this was probably the longest day I ever played DOA in a while. Some really good fights and more drama (That I can care less about).

But GG's to everyone. I'm starting to dislike Nyotengu more for some reason. Maybe it's just inexperience. Yeah. It's likely that. And Rig's finally leveling up a bit. Pretty proud about that.
Last thing I gotta discuss: When people say DOA's a simple game but tekken's complex and vice-versa.

There are some stupid things in both. There are some excellent things in both. It's why I love 3d fighters (More so for the excellent things. The stupid things can find a hole and fall in it). But I strongly advise to please not bash either. If it's not for someone, it's not for someone. I can't say SF's ass but I barely touch it. I'd say at least give it a month, heck 2 months.

And play in an offline scenario. It's awesome playing both offline (Morely DOA cause I went further XD). Gave me new appreciation for DOA and offline as well considering where I was before. Heck even the 2d's I gained some appreciation for. But that's the end of my statements. Just had to get that out.

Now back to looking for pockets maybe and working on my awful stick play.
I die of laughter every time someone says I use a mashy character.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
I remember people talking about why there isn't many Rig's in a tourney scenario? And Rig's debated as a top 5 character for the most part (I don't see it. I see top 10). And when someone said "After Hoodless, Jager, and Sypher who else can execute with Rig to a high caliber of potential in a tournament?"
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
And they're right. Heck I can't execute with Rig at a high level. I'm still learning. And same for Hwo in tekken. I just find it hilarious that people can just spew out their mouths that Rig/Hwo are so easy/mash friendly but have no concrete evidence to support that.
    Mayor-Of-Mustard
    Mayor-Of-Mustard
just ignore them. they're not worth it. 'mashy' characters are fun anyway.
The more I play 3d fighters (DOA & Tekken), the more I see sidestepping as pointless. Maybe it's in the characters or something.

Not that I want to punish everything. I don't want SS to be OP. If a string tracks then I can't utilize that. I also accept that I can't SS grabs. But the fact that non-tracking strings take sidestep away for me is cheesy and because the moves re-track makes SS weak compared to just standard blocking.

Yeah... but you make it sound like every String Retracks the Same way... which it doesn't as I explained earlier...

Either way theres a solution... pick Sarah or Marie Rose, They have Free Stepping Side Steps, nothing will retrack.... of course in exchange for such an effective move TN balanced it by giving them Start Up time before they actually evade anything...

Sarah's a consideration. Not really for that reason. Mainly cause I want to have a Taekwondo squad for every 3d fighter (Though Sarah's not 100% Taekwondo).

You should sidestep Kokoro, all her strings that dont include H+K dont track
Of course I lose promo after promo to laggy fake 4 bar players in tekken cause it's easier to hopkick with claudio in lag and know..

My fault. Typo. That’s how you know Online gets me. But yeah, since it’s a high, one can either do snake edge and half my health is gone or they can duck, I whiff and wr 2, and half my health is gone. It’s not as OP as I would like for it to be.

I played offline at TFC. Great experience. Went 2-2. Wish I could play more tourneys like that than endure the piece of trash called online. But people say playing fake 4 bars and 10,000 braindead Lili’s, Jacks, etc is how I get better.

At least most people like you offline, so you have something to look forward to when going to them.
Past few days with Hollow, Ghp, Ethan, Jager, and others have been great. Can't wait til I play Hollow offline again and everyone else also.

And the stick's slowly improving. Tekken still a damn struggle but DOA with Rig's getting a bit easier.
Let me step back like James Harden for a minute: We came off Noctic reveal, TWT, Geese, controversial tier lists, etc...
RIP to the execution barrier keeping Hwo, Devil Jin, and others at B tier. It will dearly be missed.

Yeah I heard DJ is like the Akira of Tekken... people would like to use him but can't because he's a pain in the ass.... even worse than Akuma I hear.

Okay... now it all makes sense to me.

How come we don't ser more M.Ravens ?

    Does she suck ?
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
No. She’s actually really good. I think cause compared to Jack and a couple others, she’s not as easy. Plus her back stance has stuff to look into so there is some execution to it. But she’s really good. Tissuemon puts in work with her and I’m thinking of pocketing her.

Master raven to me’s similar in a way to Ayane where Raven can dictate the flow of the game with some great spacing tools like her. And both aren’t brainhurting hard but there’s some execution to consider.
