    like, alot of ppl i fought were players i run into all day online, now when it's a tournament, we all forget to how to punish, reactions are delayed, more freezing up than usual, doing random ass stuff on wake up, it's a good learning experience

    maybe just calling it an ESL tournament made all the difference in the world, but after the first 3 games and losing to a hayate with 2 bars that just chucked out fullscreen 214p's i came back down to earth and was like "it's just online bro", still, a fun experience

    so if nyo is up to +6 and pokes with 5pp, 2pp, or 6pp, most characters can sidestep p and CH nyo before the string retracks, noted

    6p+K on block can get her up to +5, provided you flight cancel early enough. But I'm talking about when she blocks an attack that's safe, leaving her plus but not plus enough to punish

    lol, the low tier option select, if you lose "i was using ryu, what did you expect?" if you win "i just beat top tier with ryu, im the best"

    My favorite is the good ole "i'm worried about losing with my main so i'll pick a my secondary or even a character i barely know how to play so if i lose its because i wasn't using my main and if i win the guy i beat should be ashamed because he lost to my secondary!"option select

    LoL... I had a friend whip that one out on me once. Mila's is his main... but when we play he used everybody but her. Naturally I kicked his ass. And he be like: "you know I would have beaten you with Mila."

    The worst is when people pick "low-tier" characters and bitch about everything wrong with their character, and I ask "Why don't you play someone better?". And they respond: 'Because I'm an idiot'.

    do you ever find yourself having trouble playing characters that lack certain attributes you've gotten used to?

    @Tenro i actually have to upgrade to rev 2, as soon as i and i see ya online i;ll invite you for games, i actually have offline opputunities to play but everyone in the offline scene is so good, it'll be nice to play regular ppl again

    I play a lot of speed characters so when I use someone like Nyotengu and the opponent has me trapped at close range idk wtf to do

    I like having advanced holds and parries when I play a character that doesnt have either of these it kind of throws me off my game but I can adapt

    so you give a character a million ways to open you up and make them super safe, but you give them low damage and no okizeme. balanced?

    but that wouldn't mean she'd be useless, the player playing her would just have to make good reads on offence and probably be less likely to go for knockdowns and go for more resets, this is why in tournament you rarely see Jam players going for knockdowns, just resets upon resets upon resets, unless they land a puffball in the corner, then they do 40% combos that you can't do shit about

    I find that to be more on Alpha than Helena going by their character. Alpha loses complete wake up game, but has one of the best offense options with very little recovery to interrupt that can screw someone over quickly.

    People mention Alpha holds sucks which is true, but her parry holds causes a knockdown that can grant tech up from Alpha. Alpha standing up = Really good. Alpha staying down = Bad, but sometimes I can guess right on options when you tech me up.

    I was Practicing Baiken today.... managed to reach the Third Advanced Combos before I bailed out.

    Shockingly enough.... Skullgirls is only slightly easier... not significantly easier.

    If you get tech throws on reaction then wouldn't people simply always just Tech every single Throw ?

    Either way Fantasy Strike & Virtua Fighter have the best Throw Breaks.

    ugh, i don't know about fantasy strikes' throw break system, it just seems to counter intuitive. "hey you wanna stop your opponents offence? just take your hand off the controller and don't press any buttons!" sounds cool on paper but it's hella weird in practice

    Haha indeed. Just like in Tekken. 'How do you block'? You don't press anything! Heavenly sword also had a guard system like that. Hella unintuitive!

    ps4 remake of Catherine is a chance to redeem myself, i punked out and stopped playing the original game cause it got too hard for me :/

    there were some odd design choices in that game for sure, like a complete lack of camera control and the fact that your controls got reversed if you were behind the blocks, but it wasnt iffy designed that stumped me, i just couldn't get past a certain part of the game, sure i could of looked it up but whats the point of playing a puzzle game if im just gonna look up the solution the minute i get stuck?

    I don't blame you... Game looks hard.... infact one of the modes was legitimately broken and could not be beaten.

    You quit a game because it was too hard? I'll really wouldn't expect that from you. Give it another shot and play Catherine again, it's awesome! With patient and diligence, any of the puzzles can be solved. Just be sure to take breaks if you get stumped so you can re-evaluate your tactics.
