I have a ton of DLC, but frankly it's been like this since LR was released, with just the DLC ported from Ultimate. I wouldn't even have as much of a concern, if it reliably loaded, but sometimes it's 20+ minutes and nothing. If the DLC was cross-platform like KI's is, I'd just switch to PS4...

Ok, fresh install followed by installing everything in order in no way worked. Tried to pull my mate back in, arranged to play him and we both meet online. He starts grabbing the update (he hasn't played in a while) while I boot the game. 1 hour later and I still haven't gotten into the game...

6 months later, and I'm trying again. Digital version this time, saves me changing discs and a few people have said it helps. Wiped the game from my HDD completely, started fresh. Full game only install, no extra costumes, boots fine. Once the DLC is added though, back to ridiculous load...

And I guarantee that the optimum strategy for every one of your deliberate actions is to just keep pressing buttons, unless you'd care to offer some solid examples? Honestly, her jab's not great. Compared to the advantage characters like Bass and Nyo get for using anything, -1 isn't really much...

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

Blocking isn't a choice with Tina, it's something you are simply forced to do. Any given fight using her is 90% blocking and the other 10% is throwing out the mandatory wild guess unless your opponent stupidly does something punishable. -4 on block may not be punishable from the front when...

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

You both say this, but none of the other grapplers have the same disconnect Tina has, and none of them has zero neutral game. Bass has reach and frame advantage, Bayman has great OHs and fantastic crushes, including Tank Wheel, Lisa has great crushes, colossal reach and good OHs, etc. Blocking...

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

The issue with Tina's neutral game is that every other character has at least one strength or solid option, even the characters with bad neutral games. Tina doesn't have any solid options; she's slow, short ranged, has little advantage on block, her OHs suck, her crushes are limited. Every one...

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

The problem with giving her neutral combo throw breaks is that it wouldn't change her game at all. In fact, it would be terrible for her. First problem is that she needs to land a combo throw at all, against an opponent who just needs to press buttons to prevent this; again, 'guess right'...

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

Only +3? Unless Tina wants to go for a jab (leaving her vulnerable to high holds and crushes), a lot of characters are gonna counter hit Tina anyway. The problem I see with this, and with her OHs for that matter, is that it's the same counter as everything else Tina does; push buttons. This...

Tina's OHs are crap. They're way slower than the average mid, so you need advantage just to use them! None of them give her advantage, either, so they don't improve her situation.

The problem with getting 'more throws' with Tina is that her strikes don't threaten anyone enough. I think most people are aware it's safer to keep pushing buttons against her.

Ok, been playing Nyotengu for a while now, really loving her. My friend also keeps commenting that I play her 'just like Tina'. I suppose I do, it's just easier to get out of a spot when you have some decent neutral game tools for once and I'm not finding that I need to block and gamble anywhere...

This isn't Mortal Kombat, there's loads of great characters here. Just not the bland, stony-faced ninjas! As mentioned before, I'm really liking Nyotengu, and her neutral game doesn't appear to be as bad as I first thought. She's actually got some great crushes and some good reach.

    DOA5LR Tina Discussion

As mentioned before, I need to like a character. And since I find Phase 4 'really irritating', I really mean it when I say I have no interest in subjected myself to her whining every match. Also, not interested in playing a character that's reminiscent of the way Tina plays, since it's the way...

Nope, and don't intend to. She's not as flat out dull as Hayate/Hayabusa, but her constant Pyrrha-style whining about not wanting to fight is really irritating. Seriously, not interested in the ninjas. Any of them. I've been playing Hitomi a bit, and she's actually starting to seem like a less...

I think TN did a good job with the majority, just seems to be the Asian characters (including half-Japanese Hitomi) that just got generic VAs. SF4 was much the same.

Was considering Hitomi, actually. My first main, back in the day, was Ein, and she has a more dynamic version of his fighting style. Kind'a wish she had a German accent, rather than a generic American one, but that's not a big deal.

I need to like a character. The ninjas are, well, a bit dull.

And not a one of them has any personality... I used to be a Hayate main, in previous games, but then I realised he's basically a wooden post with a ninja mask.
