*hard ban
No it was soft bans. Back then during tourneys they implemented them so that the game could get better rep but it was only a soft ban so there were no repercussions if you didn't follow suit, which is why Sonic Fox and Kwiggle still chose certain outfits and shook the controller and why Jyakotu even brought his ps4 into a tourney just so he could use that Ayane preorder DLC with the sheer skirt and Lei necklace covering her boobs xD I think now people in general don't really care so much tho, I mean look at SC6, most of the girls dress like red light district escorts but they don't get any bad rep

Very true. Its interesting to see next year. Street Fighter V wasn't on ESPN this year and eSports won't be in the Olympic Games until 2024. However I still stand by my suggestion in regards to the Tournament mode as its a Trust But Verify.

While i'm not trying to sound like a dickhead, in the most frank way possible,

The DOA fighting game franchise only gets the bad rep it does because the DOAX series exists. People seem to have a very very hard time differentiating the two. DOA6 is the product of TN saying "No, DOA is this, and DOAX is that. Here is the difference."

That's not the only reason either, DOA's earlier emphasis on the sex appeal(She kicks high, breast jiggle engine devotion, etc.) and the revealing costumes and the leaking of swimwear and other fetish stuff in DOA post DOA2U is also a big contributor as well.

if TN would have left out all the swimwear and stuff that Xtreme brought to the table, I'm sure there would be no issue, it's all about how stuff is handled. Tekken and SC have always had sexualized stuff but Tekken gets by since it was limited to endings and special artwork back then. SC gets a pass since everyone is sexualized and everyone is basically a walking fetish combined with cool design and a more centralized story focus. DOA6 has nothing to lose at this point since people are already talkin' mad BS about the game like always so they wouldn't need a soft ban tbh xD

you missed the joke :(
anyway, fetish costumes didn't start with 2u; they were already everywhere in 1. and right off the bat this was THE game that pioneered tits physics on the ps1. regardless, the series' rep was simply bad luck. MK had everyone wear practically one piece swimsuits for the longest time, SG and AH are all-girls weeb games, SC had a ton of thots, but were there any outrage? no, because they didn't have the luxury of some journalist going "OH NO NO NO NO" in an article and everything snowballing from there. itagaki's efforts to reach out to a country that has always been panicky about lewd shit didn't help either

so uh, 6 on the arcade

ok, just a question.
i don't know if i heard that right, but is it true that SEGA will be involved again in the distribution of the game, or the arcade version?

i kinda heard this after the arcade version announcement, but i need confirmation.

if that's true, might that mean more chances for a new sega guest character post-launch?

ALL DOA6 DOA5 DOA4 DOA3 DOA2U DOAD
