Design new characters for DOA6

I know DOA5(U) is still very young, but I've always been interested in the creation of new characters for the future of the serie.

On this thread, you can either write any idea, any wish, or fill this simple form :

Story : Come from a wealthy family. Eliot's old bully back in school. He is looking for someone to be his master. Gen Fu refuses to train him because of his behaviour and his materialist attitude. Leon too at first, but then he accepts once James and Leon have a long conversation about James's past : just like Leon mourns Lauren, James is an orphan.
Trivia : He could stole some of Kenji's concept costumes Team Ninja made a decade ago

Story : Working for the KCIA, her job is to stop Donovan, investigate on the Douglas' deaths. Tries to collect informations from Brad with alcohol, then Christie arrives and fights her, because she knows her identity. Refuses to work for Helena Douglas. Bayman accepts to help her to infiltrate MIST.
Trivia : She would be our first "soldier chick" to fill that stereotype

Appearance : Short blonde hair, tanned skin
Story : She tries to take part in the 6th tournament to prevent Zack from flirting with the other blondes girls. But she will also help him in his tasks. Indeed, he is trying to raise money for a secret project...
Trivia : She has some of Tengu's moves in her moveset.. nah I'm kidding.

But if Nikki's VAs were Kasumi (in English) and Helena (in Japanese) in DOAX2, I suppose they have to apply new voice actresses for her.

Born with an incurable illness Allen has lead a life of hardships.in and out of hospitals,bullied,constantly behind in school,and unable to work Allen has missed out on much of life's pleasures which has left him a very angry and bitter person.beneath his seemingly kind and humble exterior is a very vicious person whose desire is to destroy lives the way fate had destroyed his using his style he calls "vengeance" which is focused solely on disabling a persons body.

Rivals: Bayman/Ryu(sees through his act), Eliot(imagines him of "what could have been" jealous of Eliot's health leads to obsession/hatred. Eliot just thinks he wants a good fight)

Reason for joining: wants to ruin the fighters who keep "showing off" their good health. an encounter with Christie leads to him getting involved with MYST.

Wow, he looks very dark and Jin-like. I like it, reminds me of Goh. The pressure points are interesting, I wonder what special tool could derive from them in order to define his individuality. Maybe he could have a unique stun from them.

I really like the quote. I felt like I've heard it somewhere, but then I googled it and couldn't find anything. So I guess this would definitely be a very badass taunt (or victory pose).

Interesting story and fighting style. Very different from the other characters. Sort of reminds me of Slim Bob in TTT2. His opening quote is "(sighs) I'm practically skin and bones" (although he didn't lose weight b/c of an illness).

Personality: Cheerful, Adventurous (her anime titled, Rio: Rainbow Gate shows how she faced all the ridiculousness challenges of casino games called "Gate Battles" just to get the "Most Valuable Casino Dealer" title)
Appearance: Pinkish-red hair, vivid green eyes that are always wide and awake
Favorite Color: Hot Pink
Favorite Food/Drink: Gingerbread cookies, ginger ale, cherries

Story: Rio was temporarily employed for 2 weeks by Zack on his island as the casino's hostess and blackjack dealer. As she was on her way back to Howard Resort, Rio overheard a discussion about the 5th Dead or Alive Tournament coming in 2 years from some of the female fighters while on the plane, she got curious and went to witness the tournament as a spectator from the audience. She noticed the familiar faces of the girls she was with on the island and saw the sheer power from them as they fight against each other in the tournament.

So filled with hype, she called her manager and asked for a long vacation leave then with a smile, went to train herself to compete for the upcoming 6th Dead or Alive Tournament.

Trivia: Like Zack's "Zack Beam" taunt, she can do a damage-dealing taunt by accidentally tripping herself down while shuffling a deck of cards directed towards the opponent and guarantees a 10-hit damage when the opponent get hits without blocking.

Nice one.
I like it, I wanted to give Ballet Fighting or Capoeira to Rio (no, Lisa only has some capoeira-inspired moves, that's all), but your Wushu could work too, especially because that would make our first American character with an Asian fighting style.
Her story is nice, not very complicated but that's a good introduction to the character.
It's nice to give Lisa a new partner.

Appearance: (making this off the top of my head) black long hair, blue eyes, muscles (about the size of Sarah's)

Story: Was hired by Donovan to kill Bayman. She stumbled across Ayane, they brawl, Shannon looses. After that she bumps into Helena and tells her that she is looking for Bayman for many reasons but does not state she is to kill him so Helena won't be alerted. Watches the DOA6 tournament with a sniper from a distance to see if Bayman will show up.
Finds Bayman is the back of the oil rig fixing things, tries to shoot him(from a distance) but Christie asks what is she doing there with such weapon. Christie and Shannon get along just fine and join forces together.

We already have plenty of young people that look pretty in DOA, so I'd honestly rather see something different. I'm kind of a fan of the "old martial arts master"-stereotype:

I think a thin, old body with very loose robes (probably looser than I drew them here) could look really sweet in motion.

I agree with you, and your character looks great on paper. I could see him training in an old Chinese courtyard, with his cat watching him. He could have a costume like Shun Di in Virtua Fighter, with his cat on his shoulder. ^_^

The thing is, when I try to create new characters, I also try to make characters that could become popular (or at least characters than would not end up like Tengu, characters would have as much priority as babes). Not icons or overused characters, but I want people to enjoy them as much as possible.

I'm not saying an old master is a bad idea, but I tend to think people have issues identitying themselves to the "Chinese grandpa" stereotype : Look at Gen Fu, he was almost cut in DOA5 and Wang is rarely used online in Tekken. No one uses the old guy in fighting games apparently. So I'd rather see TN work on Gen Fu a bit more..

I do love that type of character, they represent the "core", the spirit of fighting.
Sometimes, developpers try to find something to make them "less unpopular". It can be a gimmick (Boschonobitch's comic relief in Tekken, Shun Di's indispensable fighting style). Or you can make him Top Tier (like Gen Fu).

On another hand, I would love to have a Japanese guy on his 40-50s, someone like Hitomi's father, performing Shaoling Kung Fu. He could have like 5-6 different stances. Oh and, ahhhh, the moustache !

Thanks. I really want to make use of her Chinese costume. It just fits for her to have Kung Fu fighting style. I wouldn't say first American with Asian fighting style since Zack got that covered with Muay Thai. Probably first American with Chinese Martial Arts fighting style since it sounds more accurate.

Well, I thought you would have that covered with Nikki. I can imagine her and Lisa could also work out as tag partners too since she would probably know her ever since the first DOAX because Lisa was the tour guide that Zack hired. Nikki could also known Rio since she was hired as the casino's blackjack dealer so it's possible to have those 2 connect with her.

I'll still have to come up one for a guy and possibly, Irene lol.

Note: Rina is actually Rio's half-sister whom she has mistaken with Christie due to the similar hairstyle. Their relationship was a bit similar to Kasumi and Ayane's.

I got a better idea. Add "Flat" as a breast motion option. TN ain't got no time for REAL token lolis.

On-topic, all I want is a redesigned Miyako with a formal but shady air about her personality. If we're gonna get a token MILF, she has to stand out way better than she did in story mode. As far as a voice actress goes, I think Yuki Kaida can pull her off best. I'm still at odds about what martial art she should use, but Bajiquan is definitely out. Has to be something that reflects her contradicting actions as Kokoro's mother... perhaps a combination of two styles.
