Yes, friends it's true someone saw a way to make a profit in my "hobby": Right now I'm only available to have it open on Saturday's from 6pm to 12 am due to my "real" job, but slowly I will transition to make it more available on more days. What I offer: 11 Xbox 360's (8 of which for multi player LAN connection *cough* GEARS) 2 PS3's ASUS monitors with 2ms latency. Saturday is FIGHT NIGHT, where the usual suspects (CAPCOM GAMES) shine, however I am reaching out to other communities (Tekken, BlazBlue, and of course DOA!) Address is 529 Providence Highway Dedham MA inside the METRO PCS store! NEED HELP CALL 857.247.4180 I don't think to many people here are from MA, but if your in town hit me up! BTW, till the end of the month EVERYTHING is FREE PLAY!
Good luck man... those things are a hard business to run. Think you got the right idea doing it part time though.
Thanx guys, I wanted to set my DOA 3.1 up but Mr. Wah tells me there is no VGA converter for the OG Xbox. He directed me to a Component converter but ATM I have no cash for that yet, so hopefully soon. In it's place I'm putting my DREAMCAST with PROJECT JUSTICE if all goes well. I've outlined the other set ups for tomorrow as: SSF4 AE on Xbox 360 MVC3 on Xbox Tekken 6 on both PS3 and 360 Arcana Heart 3 for PS3 BlazBlue 360 this system can run Xbox Live Arcade titles (ALL SNK arcade KOF anyone!) and can run MK, SSF4 AE, MVC as a back up if needed. I don't know too many BB players but am making the latest version available for play. DOA4 360 (since people are interested in this again) and Gears Of War 3 on two 360 set ups for link play for whatever gametypes. (more may be added depending how things go.) Other fighters I have are VF5, Battle Fantasia, and MK. depending how things go I have DJ Hero 2 with dual turntables as well.
Thanks to all that made it out! Special shout out to Dr. Teeth for the DOA2 matches on DREAMCAST good fun and funny realizing how the Free Step system worked back then lol. On another note this coming weekend we will be open Saturday (6pm-12am) AND Sunday (3pm-10pm). I would have did it today since most were in favor but needed the R&R and figured it would be better for more advance notice.
I really wished some more of you guys lived in the east coast, well if DOA5 makes it big you can travel for a tourney. And now time for my own brand of "Ono Trollin":
I'm in the east coast, just nowhere near you sadly lol. If I lived near MA I'd probably be at that place every Saturday lol.
I believe most of the DOA US community is on the east coast, but it suffers from the same problem the West Coast (I.E. Cali) has with the travel distance between all players.
Just for those curious, I'll put 3.1 on every fight night (Saturdays after 8pm $5 unlimited play!). And be playing DOAU2 on down time for costumes (Gotta collect em all . . . again *sigh*)
I wish you ALL did too. I'm literally signing up at all the "lesser known" fight game forums to tell people what's up. Now just for business (well yeah) but mainly cuz I love fighters of all types, especially watching people with a good degree of skill play up close. Got this happening too: http://www.facebook.com/events/306552106032672/
Attn: After some research I have decided to start doing $5 Day Passes for ALL DAY PLAY any day I'm open! Thursdays and Saturdays are now for the fighting game crowd, however if there are open stations, I'm not against throwing in whatever so people have something to play. I had my first tourney on December 18th: and did some renovating: For a more "roomy arcade feel" . The fighter players are a fickle bunch as I know first hand, so the changes are to help get in more casual gamers. I do have a few tournaments coming up for the FGC, Madden players, and Gears Of War 3. Keep up on the facebook for updates: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ultimate-Gaming-Spot/225442120852710 On a side note I got my Dreamcast to Saturn pad converters working and found my copy of Powerstone!
