Its a pretty good video and for the most part it seems alot like doa5, but one thing stood out to me was Ryu's fatal rush getting held. I dunno if they were canceling it and doing something else, but there doesn't seem to be any cancellation in animation. So either they were cancelling the string, or the newer build they were playing the fatal rush can be held.

I noticed in earlier gameplay videos some characters put their opponents in critical stun during the second hit of the fatal rush. Ryu, Helena, and Jan Lee's second fatal rush attack does two attacks. The first attack does a critical stun and the second fatal stun. I wasn't sure if it could be held until I saw this footage but it appears that it can be. Kasumi, Hayate, and Zack only do one hit. Not sure if it's a way to balance the characters or maybe they didn't change it to fatal stun for all hits since it's an early build.

God, they really didn't change a single fucking thing in Hayabusa's moveset, did they?

Fun thing about 3D fighter sequels is that the further you get into the series, the fewer major changes happen on a per-character basis. Only so many notations are possible and people hate having moves replaced. Not to mention the developer strain it is keeping up with an ever expanding roster.

You have people right now who hate playing jann lee in 5 because he had his stance added. That wasn't even taking anything away, it just made the old players feel like it wasn't the same character anymore.

Man I don't get that. I loved the stance being added. Granted he's never been my main, but he's always been my go to secondary and while he was always fun to play, the stance felt like a great addition to his character.

Cause the game doesn't explain how to use it. The game doesn't explain how to use anything. That's why people think fighting games are difficult. The training mode in DOA has more than most but it still ridiculously bare and doesn't teach anything remotely practical.

Being an "8 or 10%" build. I imagine it's closer to @Russian-chiropractic19 's theory that they really just put what movesets from 5 into 6 because the focus for this press event was the new graphics engine and the Break Gauge.

I don't think its really possible to make a tutorial to cover how every single thing interacts in a fighting game. There is just too much, and if you go the VF4EVO route with the tutorial and actually TRY to do that you end up making people feel overwhelmed despite its solidity.

But, yes. Fighting games are hard. At the very least, understanding them completely and mastering them is hard. I just don't see how that is ever going to change because even with the best tutorial it will still require a mentality that actively seeks information outside of what will be handed to them.

So we can expect better improvements from 5 to 5U than from 5 to 6? Yay.

They wouldn't even have to make new moves/notations, per-se. For example, they could give Hayabusa his old 236K attack/input back. They could revert his 3H+K attacks to either how they were in 5 vanilla or how they were in previous games. They could make 7P no longer force ongyoin transition. They could possibly slow down the animation on his 4P2P and make it a light + on NH (god forbid he even have a single somewhat respectable low).

You have people right now who hate playing jann lee in 5 because he had his stance added. That wasn't even taking anything away, it just made the old players feel like it wasn't the same character anymore.
Well, I'm not a big Jann player so I can't comment on that, but I certainly know what it feels like to have an obnoxiously unwelcome stance trying to ruin your experience. Ongyoin is dumb, and so long as they keep it they're going to think he can rely on it. But instead of revamping that, which is pretty much the only thing I hear any Hayabusa player wanting from a sequel, they decided to add these janky meter mechanics.

I get it. They're not making this game for me. But I am a bit confused who they are making it for (kids that play some mobile sumo game, I guess).

I'm not optimistic that we'll see a re-inspection of his moveset on the level that we have moving from past entries, but if I'm wrong, I'll be quite happy.

Well, as unwanted as stances may be to some people, its the easiest way to add things without removing things because new stuff gets shoved into a sub-category not normally accessible. I think its rather efficient, personally, but oh well.

Easy is not necessarily good. I like a good stance. Ongyoin just isn't one.

I'm pretty sure the stance is shown clear cut in the move list tutorial.

I like Maximillian but he's too much a glass-half-full kind of guy.

Everything is so hype with him, but he is repping DOA so i won't complain. :)
That's not strictly true. He's an optimist to be sure but he's been publicly pissed off and annoyed by game devs before especially Capcom. Positiveness is never a bad thing. I can watch multiple episodes of Max in a row. I can only tolerate Aris being a f*#% for one at most. I would rather chill and play games with Max as well.

I can understand about Aris he's such a troll, he makes me laugh though.Glass-half-empty kind of guy...

I suffer from the same illness...Black humor and sarcasm.

The FGC is in desperate need of more people like him with that attitude rather than the toxicity we have breeding now.
Overall yes,if you mean in term of mindset in FGC,against toxicity, but i believe it to be more a matter of playing to win, and win big today.Everybody want a piece of the big e-sport cake.

The term community has been forgotten...

Can you stop acting like this is the final build of the game; report what you think is necessary to your character and just have fun with the news and activities leading up to the game release? How about that?

@Fantailler the term community is far from forgotten. IF you go to the home page and check out the news there, you will see that.
