LOL. No TEs were confirmed on my watch :P But hello everyone. Where there are arcade sticks. There is MarkMan
With all the hullabaloo over raffles in the FGC at the moment, I am suddenly reminded of something we did last year for EVO 2011. Behold the VAS-SFF, a special one off stick raffled off at EVO2011 by a group of Shoryuken Tech Talk folks under the guise of "Sticks for Joy." With this, we were able to raise over $1500 which was then donated (via the American Red Cross) to the victims of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake in Japan. This looks hot: http://www.indiegogo.com/HBFS30 Here's the SRK thread: http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/hbfs-30-all-new-arcade-button.164416/ I want to donate but I'm trying to decide between the $24/32/50 levels. I'm also kind of confused at what the difference between the various "feels" is. Can anyone clarify?
They're talking about the amount of pressure it takes to trigger the 'click' of the button. Like when it activates, I suppose you could say. I saw that earlier today myself. Might donate.
Linear feel is what you get with Sanwa's and Seimitsus. Tactile means that there is some resistance, for the blue ones, there's a definite "click" that you can feel.
Hard for an independent to go up against Sanwa and Seimitsu, even if all those claims are true. Ya I'll stick to my Sanwa RG's. Hori has new hi tech buttons and sticks on their Fighting Edge Stick: http://www.hori.jp/app-def/us/multi_index.html http://www.hori.jp/us/press/f_edge_review/ http://www.hori.jp/us/press/f_edge_review_o_t/
It's been done before: Rollie buttons, Toodles Spark optical stick (see the stick in the VAS_SFJ posted above), etc.
MAS buttons (they had regular sticks too), Perfect 360 optical stick (both are on my MAS stick). Hap.
I don't like the silent buttons. Part of the appeal is in the noise they make. It feels...satisfying somehow.
Saw this piece of sheer ingenuity over at SRK. Personally, I <3 Play-Tech mods (having done one myself) and this is one of the best I've see so far.
