KT could charge as much as they want for cosmetics to be fair as long as the content doesn't constitute "Pay 2 Win" in any way. Tekken 8 still charging $10.99 CAD for a new character and not letting non-buyers lab him in a $90 CAD game feels kinda iffy now in 2024. AL or OW2 would get crucified for doing that.

I wasn't sure what direction KT was going for since DOA5LR! I play doa to fight waves of Ayanes of varying skill levels and ranks not to play Barbie dressup. I mean the default outfits per character was fine and all. Kinda disappointed that doa ended the way it did. And speaking of Ayanes....that scar you gave me a while back is still fresh! I want nay demand a rematch. >.<

After getting toasted by tekken 7, soul calibur 6, and dead or alive 6; I wish I can join in the fun with Tekken 8 but all I m doing is playing the waiting game for now. 3 months in and its shockingly grim! I m sensing that its the DOA6 story all over again! All thanks to Yohei (we have season passes) Shinbori destroying tekken 8 from within.

Congrats dude! The real grind starts at Mighty Ruler, though red ranks (Shinryu, Tenryu, etc.) were pretty rough.

Thank you! And yeah I agree, although I have fought a couple of purple ranks and they didn't seem too bad, I noticed alot of players are one tricks and don't have much after you figure their habits out xD

^ This is exactly why I hate online play, particularly for Tekken. Play these type of players offline and they'll get lit up after a match or 2. So much bullshit online even with T8's netcode.

The fact that Wanted: Dead, that janky af action game released by ex-Ninja Gaiden devs, is to this day getting updates, fixes, and combat overhauls is both baffling and awesome, most devs by now would of moved on from their budget AA game that didn't sell too well, but not Soleil lol

Chess move here, there is bugs in Valkyrie Elysium which was also developed by Soleil and didn't get improvements.

However I do think part of it is likely Square Enix or the Valkyrie series in general, but not everything Soleil does is on the fixing list. Personally I just don't see the hype pedestal of Ex-NG devs currently, not until they at least make something that rivals NG (which they haven't still).

Wanted Dead is actually fun as a silly 3rd person shooter/hack n' slash hybrid, but yeah it is pretty cool that a game like that is getting updates. Its budget shows in every aspect of the game haha. As much as I loved the OG NG/DOA team, I really don't think they transitioned within generation 7 (360/PS3) too well. Gaming standards have increased immensely since 2004-"08-ish.

well, either way, glad to see the game getting love even after all this time,

Between this and Devil's Third it's clear as day old Team Ninja REALLY wanted to make a hybrid hack n' slash third person shooter at some point, I would kill to see a 360 era version of that game with a full Team Ninja and Itagaki at the helm, but alas, t'was never meant to be :(

It was 9 years ago! I dumped Tina for Nyotengu! Until I found out the hard way that her SPD....IS NOT A 360 COMMAND GRAB! T_T

Still hurts me to this day! The years of lag walking made me wish I can go all out. Yet even I get frustrated at myself that I still hold back! >.<

@Radiance honestly. Expecting a new DOA would be crazy. Even if they’d announce it, it probably would’ve an updated Venus vacation game.

As much as I'd love a new DOA game to get announced, it's not likely to happen. Tokyo Games Show or better yet in more of a dream world: a Microsoft Direct or Sony Direct would be a better place to announce a new DOA game. An FGC event would actually be unfavourable because the FGC, in all their class, would likely just boo it. (e.g Killer Instinct @ EVO 2014).

DOA6 being announced right at the start of E3 2018 was a good move. Multiple days to describe the game to interviewers. KT just bungled the marketing hard. A DOA7 needs to nail the marketing.

That said, I think Pekora playing anything now is a bigger deal since vtubing is more popular than ever before and Pekora is topping the charts these days. The VoD has almost 500K views now. I'm guessing she'll be playing it again too. As big as a deal this it tho, I wish it was a DOA fighting game and not VV...

Meet my frenemy from steam since 2015! He used to be an Alpha152 main until a person with a Woolen Hat inspired him to pick up Momiji. He was one of the people who trained me in zero g wifi in ranked matches. We don't see eye to eye in fanservice and hot drink of choice so we duke it out to find out who is right. Great times back then and great times now! XD

Don't get caught up in the culture wars, bros. KT isn't gonna care how worked up we're getting in forums or on social media, we have no control over what they do. We tried to get them to wake up over DOA6 and they just shut the whole thing down. The best of us, imo, are making and putting out content. Matches. Tourneys. Videos. Fanart. Keep playing, keep positive, and keep having fun. Keep DOA alive. :thumbs up:

A whole fandom becoming united is completely unrealistic when people have different points of view or different reasons, especially when sex appeal/sexualization comes to the mix when this stuff should be the reason DOA is profitable with their Season Pass & Microtransactions. To be quite honest, I have little trust in KT when it comes to then giving DOA another shot.

sorry to say that matches. tourneys. videos. and fanart is not enough, DOAX3 happen because the DOA5 gravure DLC sale very successful, new NG game might be if NG master collection sold a high number. The only way we're gonna get DOA7 if team ninja publish old DOA game master collection. A big "IF".

The reaction to the hair colour stuff is what I was talking about. We effected them, but I doubt most people wanted KT to entirely stop supporting the game. Most of us wanted them to fix the issue and do better going forward, not quit. That's why I said we have no control over what KT does.

It still boggles my mind how there's not a single traditional 3D fighter available on the Switch. Not even ports of old games. For crying out loud, give me Soul Calibur 2, Virtua Fighter 2, DOA 2H or Dimensions, etc. and I would buy in a heartbeat.

That's too bad cause I know a lot of people who would want SCII, especially if Link is in it. Would be perfect for Switch port. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if online wasn't included long as offline versus was available. I understand it takes time and money to port these games over but...the switch has been out for 7 years now. Kazuya is in smash yet no Tekken game is on the Switch.

The issue is that there's no guarantee that newer players would like to play older entries in the series, especially given how from a competitive standpoint the newer entry in the series is almost always the preferred one.

If its not something that can be rereleased/ported/remastered relatively quickly like SF2/3/Darkstalkers and such then they probably won't bother with it with the rising costs for game development.
