Violent games serve as a psychological treatment to help keep people like Rikuto from walking out the door with a shotgun and making the ten o'clock news. Its purpose is mostly positive, though a bit counter-intuitive to natural selection purists.

I suppose it comes down to a bullying complex. You don't want to deprive the guy of his video games that keep him from killing you, but its easy to make fun of the other dude who can't get laid.

After witnessing MK10's fatalities, and the popularity of MK in general, this is a nice reminder of how fucked up our society is. I have no problem with witnessing brutal violence or gratuitous titties, but personally can't stand how hypocritical Western society is about it. It's truly immature.
