Everybody got some form of new tool(s) that potentially made them better in certain area, but speaking in the most technical sense, yes.
Are you saying those characters got nerfed too?
I hate it myself, but to be fair they removed a lot of easy mode ways to start an offense. Helena's force tech, Christie's JAK low sweep stun, Ayane's BT PPPP, Jann Lee's mid punch hold, Even Lei Fang's mid kick hold. Also lots of force techs as well as some sit down stuns becoming bounds.

The only remaining vortexes seem to be the characters that can simply keep you locked down. Sarah and Pai. Hopefully they get some kind of nerf in that regard or they might seemingly become even better simply because all the other characters lost their own tools for getting in and keeping pressure.
I'm not an Akira player but I think it's dumb they made his 16T H P slow escapable, that was one of his best set ups for free damage and applying pressure.
The tradeoff for mostly everyone being at neutral a lot more now however is it looks like it's easier to beat out wakeup kicks. A well placed 46P+K beat out both mid and low wakeup kicks and it looks like it'll be even easier to do so here.

Best case scenario? A well timed 466P+K will completely snuff a wakeup kick.
I'd always go for the force tech options if they presented themselves. I always prefer to be at advantage instead of performing a reset.
Of all the things I didn't think Akira's force techs were what were giving him the insane advantages. Maybe it was just because I only learned a few though. Most of the time I just went for the damage.
I'm actually glad they did. They really set Akira up for a lot of very unfair advantages. I'm more interested to see how Helena adapts to this. In theory, one would call her ruined, but I'm sure she's far from it.
Great...well it seems force tech have been remove from DOA...oh boy...
This was at summer jam. To be honest, I don't know if anybody used him.
Once I'm able to go through his training and analyze his moves, I'll figure out a way around his known nerfs.

For people who were looking for Akira tech. Some things to notice:

1. 33P+K is less frames
2. 466P+K is less frames
3. 16THP can be slow escaped
4. Sit down stuns in critical state cause a bound status
5. 64H+P, 3H+K P H, 3H+K P+K no longer force techs light weights
6. 33P+K still works after P+K 43H+P 4P.

Each force tech juggle I've tried from DOA5 doesn't work in U.
