  • How has force teching changed in doa6?

Heavy force techs are basically gone so you have to do true mid heavy force tech attacks twice like light force techs to make the opponent stand up iirc

    Force_of_Nature
You need to hit a grounded opponent 2 or 3 times in quick succession to force tech them in DOA6. Singular forced tech attacks are gone now. Opponents can also still get teched up if they press a button while getting hit by a ground attack.
Finally got A+, I know I said I wasn't gonna play ranked, and for awhile I had fun only practicing and not playing online, But with lobbies being delayed... :/
https://youtu.be/-kMrM8ZKAkk Can you guys help if possible? Don't have to watch all of it but it'd be much appreciated to atleast watch 1 match or 2 and see what you think? I feel like I can never press buttons or when I do they always get blocked and opponent gets frame advantage, And people are always low holding and getting out of my stuns and I just can't read them correctly with throws or I get hi-counter hit :/

From what I can tell, 4P is his strongest poke tool as an i15 tracking mid with a variety of follow-ups. 4P2P gives +6 with it's CH trip (-4 on NH), 4P6P offers a stun on CH that can combo into P, 3P or 6K. 6PK (without the transition) is also safe at -6. While 6PP is unsafe, both 6PK and 6PP track, so people shouldn't be mindlessly hitting buttons against it.

The first hit of 5KK is fast (i12) and provides a surprisingly deep stun on CH, and the second hit tracks and is -4. Probably more MU-dependent tool, however, as I'd tend to think it would get more value against characters with weaker crushes (such as Rig).

But to be fair, this is all from my experience with the demo. I haven't been using him at all since release,

(I did double-check all the frame data, however, just to be sure it's current with the latest version)
Man I can't help but get jealous sometimes looking at a player like rendering star play kokoro... they make her look so good and I wish I could use all her tools like they do and play her that well

Just stick with a character you like. I still have no clue how ryu works or how he can win, it just works, I either win or lose but the way is unknown lol

The thing about SF is that there's always someone there to play it. Can't say the same for DoA, VF, KoF.

i disagree with someone always there to play it about doa, i can find a match in do faster then i can kof even on doa5 right now. but yes sfv is bad but i still play it, its one of those games you love but you hate it.

It's rather the community is niche overall. You'll find matches on DoA probably because of the FTP system. The example still works. I'm not big on ranked but usually they tend to die out after a year or so. I'm not saying you Can't find anyone at all but it will be barren sooner or later. I can jump on any online SF and I will find a decent amount playing as if it was only a few months old. Simply because it's SF.
May want to slow down on the status updates a bit. I know you want to vent your frustrations, but let's be constructive too.

I understand, Just when I get in that mood sometimes it's hard not to vent. But I know what you're saying, A better way to say it is I'll most likely not be playing in ranked much anymore, Its not worth it and neither is it a decent competitive environment to learn from. But I still love the hell out of this game because it's very fun and enjoyable with friends and in an actual competitive environment.
I'm just not gonna subject myself to a trash environment with trash players where I can't actually focus on improving cause this game is fucking garbage online. Can't learn anything when half my fucking inputs don't come out :D

Don't worry Edo, lobbies will be out soon! I wouldn't worry about it tho, also are you fighting wired players? There's a icon difference between Wi-Fi anf wired that should help you avoid bad or Wi-Fi connections in general as well

Had "wired" 5 bars last night. I took my points and ran. Played an hour-long of lag switching Jans, a Lisa, Hayate, 'sumi. Couldn't punish shit that was a good amount negative. I know your pain. I got a couple 2-0s though. Stay focused on what is possible. Read sidestep and punish that in various ways, you'll get stuns from that.
Yeah I'm not playing this game's online ranked. See you guys when lobbies are up.

@Force_of_Nature some people need a stress free environment. Online without the stress of maintaining status. You know, that thing people care so much about nowadays? esp. The Internet culture. I was the same way. I would play like a god in player matches but ranked, it was like a completely different playstyle. Not for DoA in particular but ranked is slightly more YOLO, always, even for oneself.

doesn't get much more stress free than playing online matches in the comfort of your own room while in your underwear :/

if that's not stress free then i don't know what is

I suppose, but I honestly neither find Ranked nor Lobby matches enjoyable. I only really enjoy playing DOA6, or other fighting games in offline sessions where I actually know the person I'm playing with. I hate randomness.
It makes me sad that they slacked on Kokoro's model, I look at hers and compare it to someone like Kasumi's and it looks so fucking off, It makes me mad.

Wachu talking about? Koko is gorgeous. She got those dark blue eyes, perfect face. Skin, nice shape.

She's beautiful, But in this game her eyes look red for some odd reason and her hair looks off..

her eyes aren't dark enough (like they used to), the facial elements' positions are all off and the new lips mesh looks extremely strange. skin and face shape, well, they're the same as everyone else
Somebody teach me how to not get fucking livid at this game

I would say to remember that online affects everyone. You'll be missing counters and shit, and so will the opponent. Just remember it's a game :)

@Camel with 2 thumbs I'll take your advice, Its just difficult sometimes when I want to be better at the game but see no improvement.

@Codemaster92163 Very true, Its one of the things that annoys me the most is my inputs not coming out, sometimes it's hard to tell if it's actually online or just me being slow since I havent properly played in an offline environment yet.

Honestly, the way to get better at DOA is to watch videos of people that play your characters better than you, emulate the techniques that resonate with you, then incorporate the techniques into your playstyle via training, then matches. Online is straight-up bullshit, and not really representative of how DOA6 is really played, so don't be so hard on yourself if things don't always work out.
Actually tilted from today's games because everybody mashes sidesteps and low holds, holy shit
i JUST started to learn fuzzy guarding and applying it to my gameplay and all I have to say is, Holy shit I finally see the light

I actually used to know how to fuzzy guard years ago but I never really got the hang of it. Now I've re-learned it all over again. I'm excited to add it to my arsenal permanently. Especially after seeing how efficient Blackburry was using it at FR. It's a must have tactic.
Having core fighters and not being able to lab shit for almost the entire cast is so fucking annoying

To be absolutely fair, you have to keep in mind that you're essentially playing the game for free without giving KT/TN any money or compensation for their work. TN giving you 4 characters for free to play around with is cool. Obviously, the solution to this problem is to purchase the full game, or purchase all the characters you want to explore with. If someone could do a roster frame data guide, that would be cool.

Yeah you guys are right, Its just annoying knowing I can't do anything about not knowing what to do vs certain character's, I'll eventually buy the full game of course, So it won't last forever, But I still appreciate that they did give players this option.
Why is phase 4 banned from tourneys?
