Whats up LeiFang009! Welcome to FSD. Glad to have ya here. If you're looking for rushdown I'd say Rig, Kasumi, Ayane, or Christie would be the way to go. If you like the more tech side of things, you're well on your way with LeiFang but you could also give Kokoro a try since her mix ups are great and she has a nice buff with the reset air grab they gave her that puts opponents in a "bound" state for a free close hit.

Looking forward to seeing you around and online!

Oh nice to meet you Dr PaC! Thanks for the fast replay my friend. I needed this advice! So yeah I want a character with:

- Good Rushdown game (apply offensive pressure)
- Good range (Hitomi level of range or similar at least)
- Good not so risky lows because using highs and mids only is asking to get beat basically.

Thanks for your suggestion! I will try Christie, Rig and Ayane. I tried Kasumi but not much. Would prefer trying the others first and maybe go back to her later. I will still try to play better with Leifang in the future tho. Just need to hone my fundamentals better. She has a beautiful style.

Is it ok to play with 3/4 characters consistently btw? Or is that bad?
If that's ok I will surely keep Leifang in my top 4 list.

Hitomi
Leifang
One or two of Ayane, Rig or Christie

Welcome to FSD, LeiFang009! Glad to see a fellow Leifang and Hitomi fan.

Thank you! <3 Most think these 2 are B-tier characters but honestly, I still think you can do amazing stuff with them. Hopefully this game is very balanced (just like Tekken) and there is no significant difference between tiers.

As a Nyo main, I can say nothing grinds my gears harder than fighting a good LeiFang. Shes always been a solid character with just about everything you could want from a DOA kit. Solid neutral, good stun attacks, a great catch throw, a subaki, and advanced holds that'll either leave you hella plus or does good damage. And if you want solid damage and good corner carry, you cant go wrong with Hitomi. Whatever suits you in the match up you find yourself in. As far as playing 3 or more characters, personally I have a main (Nyotengu), and I pocket Tina and Honoka, tho I think I may drop Honoka for someone else since her range is pretty not so good, lol. I think imma just go back to Ayane as my rushdown. But yea, nothing wrong with having 2 - 3 characters you play seriously, tho I wouldnt suggest more than 3. Other characters should be for lobbies and funsies

Thank you so much for the advice, Dr PaC. Much appreciated! Today I felt I started bringing out Hitomi's potential more and more. Won 12 out 19 matches online and had 10 win streak! I didn't see that coming. This is the first day I have over 50% win rate online. Spent 20 hours in the game so far. I'm C- now. The great thing about Hitomi is that she isn't hard to use so I just try to focus on decision making in the neutral. It's so important! I don't want to be reckless but I want to pressure at the same time. I know what to do with her (get into a corner and pressure but not recklessly). I started using 4P+K today in the corner and it's crazy effective when it lands. Wasn't considering using that move before. Felt it was too risky initially. IT's risky but the reward is pretty high when timing it right with the right spacing. In general, the bad thing about Hitomi is that her strings look predictable I feel (and mostly unsafe I think). However I hope I can fix that by mastering the throw after string canceling move to make her more unpredictable and learn more mix-ups in general. I do use throws in matches to break guards but need way more work on that. But yeah, in general I'm feeling comfortable with her atm.

I tried Rig and Christie but somehow I didn't feel comfortable with them. Maybe because I got too comfortable with Hitomi and want instant improvement with Rig and Christie as well lol. I need to practice them way more before going online but for now, I will improve my Hitomi and Leifang. Focusing on many characters at the same time is not good as you said. Will try to limit them to 3 at best.

I will upload some of my matches on my youtube channel soon. This game made me so excited about improving in a fighting game.

Thats whats up! Glad to hear you're doing well and congrats on that quick C rank. Im working my way to B+ myself. What's your youtube channel? Ill sub and watch. Also, if you want, Im on PS4 so my tag is Dr PaC so you can add me if you want and once lobbies come around (FINALLY) we can do some spars. If you got Tekken 7 we can play that too. I main Asuka in that game

hi. Guess I should introduce myself here. I started DOA with DOA5, so I’m relatively new to the series.
MK was always my favorite, with DOA and SC coming in for second and third place, but now MK has declined in my eyes, so I’m committing myself to DOA6.

I main Kokoro, but I’m not all that great at it. I’ve won and lost some matches online, but had a good time. Sometimes, MKX could get depressing. That seems to be missing from this game, so that’s good.
I mainly play strategy games (Koei games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga’s Ambition, Total Wat series, etc.) but I do enjoy some action games. I love the Dynasty Warriors series, especially 8, and it was out of loyalty to Koei, whom I’ve been loyal to since I was a little kid playing Romance of the Three Kingdoms II grow SNES, that I decided to try DOA. Until then, my one fighting game was MK.

When it comes to action/fighting genres, I’m huge on Japanese games with lots of Fanservice. The more the better, lol. I’m planning to get into Senran Kagura later on. Skullgirls is on my to-do list as well. .
Anyway, thanks for having me.

Welcome to FSD, Sol Invictus!

Kokoro is one of the prettiest ladies in DOA, especially in DOA5. :D

The only Dynasty Warriors style game that I played are One Piece Pirate Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, and Dragon Quest Heroes. Fun games.

Hi,

name's Ray and I only play DOA since DOA5. I briefly flirted with fighting games when I was younger (SF2 on SNES, AoF NEOGEO, T6 on PSP etc.), but since it was quite difficult to find opponents during that internet stone age I never got very far and soon left for greener pastures.

Being a huge fan of all games with anime-like graphics (Final Fantasy, Senran Kagura, Persona, you name it) I finally stumbled upon DOA. Sure, I am late to the party and I am lacking many years of DOA training in comparism to most opponents. Add my rusty reflexes to the equation and it is quite probable I will never come far in any tournament. Regardless, I enjoy the game quite a lot.

I know FSD for some years now, not the least because I enjoy the YT stuff some people here make (like F.O.N and Darkslay among others). A big thanks to all of you!

I main Jann Lee (and I love Bruce Lee movies so much), but have experimented with Marie Rose (DOA5LR) and La Mariposa (DOA6) as well. Oh, plus I love Ayanes graceful spinning and whirring around, but even with tips and tricks I am too dumb to understand how to make it work for me, I absolutely suck with her (sorry, F.O.N.).

Welcome to FSD, Ray! Hope you are enjoying the forum and front news page. If you have any questions feel free to ask away. If you wanna try getting involved offline, be sure to check out the DOA6 World Championship and see if any tournaments are nearby. :p

Hey guys, not really new to Dead or alive but new in regards to this site. Was looking for a place to talk about the game and the current subreddit seemed way too toxic even as a somewhat new player. I'm a Mila main and I've played DoA in the past here and there but Mila really got me into the game.

I know DoA isn't really in the best state right now but no other fighting game seems to be able to satisfy me in terms of gameplay so I guess I'll be sticking with DoA till the end.

I don't know what you guy's stand are on subreddits but there's a new subreddit that just opened up called r/deadoralive6 which is gonna focus on fighting stuff. Anyways, I hope to be able to contribute in some way.

Welcome to FSD, glad you joined because the more people the merrier. DOA6 really isn’t in the best state right now, so we need all the people we can get into this community to keep the game and the series alive.

Thank you for joining FSD, we appreciate it.

About the Reddit sub forum. It is shit, no offence. There’s way too much toxicity up in there to the point it’s not even about DOA anymore. I don’t get why people join reddit, FB, Twitter and Discored instead of FSD anyway. The community wouldn’t feel so divided and small if everyone shared their stuff and was active at one place.

Thanks!

Yeah I wholeheartedly agree about the current DoA subreddit. So those of us who cared more about the fighting game aspect got together and created a whole separate subreddit called r/deadoralive6 . When I first started I didn't know about FSD until I watched more Youtube videos about DoA so the DoA subreddit was where I went to unfortunately.

We're a very small group currently who probably seem like outcasts but we hope to be able to refer new players to a better reddit page and at the same time to head on to FSD for anything DoA related.
