Team NINJA Social Media Updates for DOA6

Crazy Steady has been on fire with 5. I watch him frequently and he spends far less time looking for lobbies. That's one of the key unfortunate things about 6 is it has an awful lobby systems I don't know if it's just so dead it is dead or if the online is just so bad it doesn't find lobbies. But shouts to Crazy with a pretty strong stream turnout for 5 like the last three or four hours.

A lot of pros on Twitter revealing they are going back to 5 and a lot of people are saying this is a step back and it kind of is but at least it shows how strong of a game 5 was and that it still holds up to this day.

You don't realize how important the VF characters actually were to DOA until you are rekindled with moments you see them perform. The matches that got people off of their feet at DOA tournaments typically included a VF character

Remember Crazy Steady Jacky and "YEAAAAAH" crowd chants? Just look at these exchanges between PL and him

Or how about JC Akira HUUUGE win? People exploded for that Akira

This shit inspired me to play on many levels. THE longevity of DOA5 you must admit was the most impressive thing about the series post Itagaki.

Now that's the spirit that I enjoyed. If I can, I'd relive it all again during NEC that time. I enjoyed it.

It's because they know people will eat it up. Literally seen people on Twitter who face plants it like: "Thank you for fixing it <3, it's ok I can pay for this because it's permanent and would buy it all again! :) - Sincerely, the real fans of DOA!"

Quite amusing to see how incredibly easy it is to be gullible for the game with the amount of cringe in smiley insertions and heart overuse like it's the greatest thing close to an orgasm because obviously, DOA is in good hands.

-Drum roll- Sike, you thought it was in good hands. The hype for most of the bits have been heavily exaggerated so it is what it is, but they can come back from this. I like surprises so maybe they could with 6 itself.. and if they can I will gladly take back everything I said, but until then... DOA6 (least in opinion on this one) simply isn't the answer. They gotta come back from this in a new installment or some massive overhaul in 6 itself which is skeptical to say the least on the latter option. I only become optimistic if they shown previous results and hard known facts that they performed well. Which they have not. So always assume the worse because it has happened before, and has happened again in present time.

But seriously, give the DOA franchise to another publisher who actually is willing to put money and budget for it, KT is holding the series back on it's potential. Otherwise feel free to rely on miracles and lucky shots again to be actually proud of it.

is it not possible for another company to buy it =? I mean and i hope someone does this. its pretty clear KT is the shit and teamninja has to get them lose.

Sweet heavens finally. Leave the vanilla version in the past. Let this be a lesson from the shitstorm that has been accumulated over the days and the result of having a low budget for this awful atrocious outcome. Here I was hoping they'd end it with a new stage at least, but they had to end it in a school pack as if we haven't seen those already from the modern norms of typical content.

I wouldn't say rip to the entire franchise. "If there's a milking will, there's a milking way". Lots of people at the competitive groups are having a blast right now and having a toast. But expect DOA6+all season pass edition come together at a later date or something. There's two pandemics in this world and the KT bait plague is one of them that has been contained (for now of course).

Luckily I checked the date to see if they didn't went for the attempt to drop this on April 1st for a April Fools joke, but woo boy, glad it's days before it.
They could have come all better with the "last" DLC .but dissapointment is there business . Males could be included and a new stage but yeah. But i wonder why 2 revival sets ?

That's a lot of papers. That's entirely up to KT and it's probably way too merged into it I guess.

You'd also have to find another who'd give a damn about it. The likelihood is very much zero at this point. At best, they can just co-publish. Maybe get Sony, don't know. Nioh was co-publish by Sony as well and I doubt KT will fuck that up if Sony is backing it up with cash coming out of their footsteps. But that'd also mean it'd be Sony exclusive and partially on the maybe for a PC version, can be a blessing or a curse who knows.

Honestly I want the next game to be another volleyball title. Let DOA 6 die and in another two years give us a fully-fleshed DOAX4 with the jet ski etc. back along with some other activities. I'm only saying this because a) it seems Tecmo/TN's focus is now fanservice b) All of the spinoff games are quite solid. If they just toned down the perviness of it and make an impact like DOAX did back in the day, they could redeem themselves. If I recall correctly, the Jet Ski in DOAX2 was welcomed by many including reviewers. The DOAX series has so much potential...

Honestly, Tekken 7 has bowling. Why don't they just put a volleyball side mode in the fighting game? Of course, they'd have to actually have the men be selectable, and I'm sure they'd rather cut off a finger than do that. lol

Feature bloat. If the majority of the playerbase is going to ignore a non essential feature, it’s better to put the resources into other tasks that are related to the project.

EDIT: Last part might come off as petulant. It's my way of saying that reallocating resources into other projects or your bank account is a good way to piss off your customers.

It's not talked about as much, but I think DOAX3 and VV screwed up the DOAX series just as much as DOA6 screwed up the DOA series. I and other fans of DOAX since over a decade ago have been talking about all the potential of the DOAX series to be Team Ninja's legit party game series that can actually be fun and/or relaxing to play and not just to look at female characters (or male characters, which a lot of us straight-male fans would actually be fine with, as long as there's an option to "turn them off" and not see them, lol). We were hoping for the DOAX series to go in a more awesome direction with DOAX3 but it went in the opposite direction of what we hoped, which is becoming literally just a cheap cashgrab waifu simulator. But this isn't the thread for that so I'll leave it there.

As for putting the volleyball into the main game, that's been an argument since they first made DOAXBV. There was a reason why Itagaki wanted it to be its own game and not like Tekken 3 and its Ball Mode, but I forgot what the reason is now. That said, Namco's always done better as far as single player content in fighting games go. It's hard to argue they're not the best at it. Nevermind Ball Mode, consider how some Tekkens have a FULL beat-em-up game within their full fighting game, or just look at most Soul Caliburs. But yeah, right now I'm not as concerned about what DOA's extra single player modes should be when they can't even get their act together about the main game right now. Quest mode is actually some of the best single player content the series has seen so far and one of the few legit improvements DOA6 has, but what's the point of putting effort into that when far too many fans ended up hating DOA6 or were disappointed by the game in general.

There's a lot of talking about things that will 100% never happen going on right now, lol. I've kinda become tired of talking about the potential of how awesome DOA and DOAX could actually be since I'm 100% sure now that there's no chance of any of it happening (even more especially in DOAX's case). I'm at the point of wishing they'd bring back things we've already had before (more and better stages, induvidual story modes, better gameplay, tag, etc) rather than dreaming big again. That's if if it's not dead, lol. I think people are jumping the gun with that one actually. I think it's too early to assume KT is leaving DOA6 for dead or that it's going to die after the final update. No one knows for sure, we have to just wait and see at this point. Hopefully we don't have to wait and just speculate to death until next year. At least we can play other DOAs until then. I've been playing DOA2H lately, and I'll revisit DOA3 soon.

Tecmo’s been sitting on a dormant fighting game IP for almost 25 years now.

Given it was an all-girls fighter, it’s crazy how they never crossed it over with DOA, which makes me think they forgot about it =/ I wouldn’t mind if they brought this game back since it would make the waifu crowd happy lol.

This game came out the same year as DOA which is 1996, this game was in June and DOA was in November 26 for Arcades. Tecmo's main fighter is DOA, and Tokidensho Angel Eyes was forgotten about since it wasn't as profitable as DOA1. Most crossovers with DOA would be whats the recent title for promotion, DOA4=Spartan-458 (Halo), DOA Paradise=Rio (Rio Series), DOA5=VF cast etc. Angel Eyes hasn't been relevant since its Arcade/PS1 releases.

Honestly I want the next game to be another volleyball title. Let DOA 6 die and in another two years give us a fully-fleshed DOAX4 with the jet ski etc. back along with some other activities. Having more mini games would benefit DOAX4 since DOAX3 was similar to what DOA Paradise had in mini games (since certain games were missing from DOAX2). Toning pervy stuff down is not needed to make any title redeemable, features what recent DOAX games have are addition to the games.

Before I decided to log out of twitter, Team Ninja liked one of my comments to a Nioh developer interview/documentary video they posted, where I said:

"This is cool. I love it when you guys make videos like this for the good games you make. I remember when you guys made videos like this for DOA5, back when you were able to work properly on the DOA series. I hope DOA can see passion like this from Team Ninja again one day".

Do they often go around liking fan's tweets to them like that?

I don't want any DOAX until they get their shit together. I was so hyped for a DOAX3 back in the early DOA5 days, and once they started teasing the possibility with the DOA5+ Private Paradise I was SHAKING IN MY BOOTS!!! Then years passed and DOAX3 actually became a thing and girl... most disappointing shit I've ever seen with only DOA6 surpassing it lol. Removed lots of features like the Jet Skies or the partner gravures (you go on a vacation and stay ALONE the entire time and just interact with the other girls to play games but can't even go to the beach with them and have some fun getting tanned? Now THAT'S a sad thing to do even for the most unfriendly DOA girls like Ayane lmao), removed some of my most important faves (Tina, Lisa and Mila, who didn't even have the chance to go chill at the beach but the new bitches like Marie and Honkers did before her even tho she was first to the party!!!), replaced the ICONIC My Grave song from the Pool Dance for that generic ass song they introduced in DOA Paradise... EVERYTHING is just trash in DOAX3 aside from how gorgeous everything looks (and tbfh it could've looked better, but they really wanted to reuse assets from the mid 2000s because they really love to reuse things in DOA lmao). If DOAX4 becomes a thing they better put that DOAXVV money to work and we get new minigames, new high quality assets for the island so it can look better and not like some cardboard scenery, the return of the much necessary removed features, ALL of the girls and, for the first time, the boys too (but that's asking too much for them lol). Make it something that can be sold on this current era, and not some 2000s shit with access to the PS/Xbox stores to buy extra DLC.
