Ninja Gaiden Thread

And why they are lazy ? Only because they don't rerelease a version that you prefer DOES NOT make them lazy.
They reverted to gore in Sigma 2 Plus, not to mention the entire theme of NG3/RE. If they really felt that the mist/reduced gore was the best option/direction to this day, they still have some really funny decisions to explain.

Also, Ninja Gaiden is a DEAD franchise. It's obvious why they don't want to spend that big on it.(You should appreciate that they are at least making a remaster for it. On the otherhand, Capcom doesn't even remaster God Hand,Onimusha 2,3,4 and Dino Crisis 1,2 games.)
This is exactly my point. The franchise is in a dubious state thanks to people not responding well to various decisions that are still being criticized to this day. If the franchise is to see a successful revival, it will need to appeal to an audience, and the audience needs to vocalize what it is they're receptive to. By "remastering" (generous) the titles they had a chance to show fans and consumers that they understand what elements were revered and which were criticized, and yet by opting for this iteration of Sigma 2, they are basically broadcasting: "We haven't listened or learned anything."

Consumer response has lost it's value these days since majority of online "feedback" has turned into trolling. Internet has also gave none fans a platform to "criticize" the games they hate.

For example:

-If you take a look at RE fans opinions on RE forums you see fans that want next REs to be Alone In The Dark clones with tank controls and fixed camera angles.

-If you take a look at Tekken forums you found some people that want Korean backdash cancel and juggling to be removed.

-You have some Tomb Raider fans on the internet that want tank controls with terrible combat in next TR games.
If game developers/publishers can't separate genuine fan feedback from trolling, they are not cognitively equipped to be employed in their respective position. Poe's Law is tricky when it comes to an individual, not entire massive communities that are largely in consensus.

It also doesn't help that famous youtubers opinions have become completely worthless since they just search the forums to find the most popular opinion and after that tell the dominant side what they want to hear in their videos for more clicks and money.
So what you're saying is that it would be better if people voiced their genuine opinions publicly even if they aren't the popular opinion?
HM. OKAY. I THINK I CAN MANAGE THAT.

All game publishers only care about the money they make out of games. If they make less money, then they decide to change direction. CDPR always wanted to fix Cyberpunk after it's release. The negative feedbacks had no effect in persuading them to do it.
If they release something good from the onset, they don't need to change direction.
The path to the Ninja Gaiden franchise's current status is not difficult to chart or comprehend. If they double-down on certain bad decisions, it will continue to struggle. This can be easily pre-empted. And yet, isn't. Which is my point. They are self-sabotaging and it's ridiculous.

Criticizing isn't always a good choice. Since it just turns you into a person that doesn't find any enjoyment in anything and makes you to always complain about everything.
I'm assuming the irony here is lost on you.

That's why publishers don't care that much about online feedback.
So, the features in NGS2+ and Razor's Edge are not at all influenced by critical feedback, and are just completely YOLO decisions that intentionally defy design choices asserted prior because game devs are just whimsical beyond all coherent thought and reason?

Occam's Razor is challenging that notion really, really hard.

It was strange that they decided to destroy series more with Yaiba
And they also updated trademark for this shit, wonder if we get a Yaiba port or something

I'd argue Yaiba is more of a direct comparison, Yaiba was so dumbed down it was barely even Ninja Gaiden. At least NG3 vanilla still had what made NG fun sorta.

On a more positive note - after days of pretending like I know what im doing, I've finally found out where Ninpo is stored for Ninja Trials and can now use Inferno for the Ninja Trials (tried giving Ryu's ninpo to the females and vice versa - seems to apply but I can't activate it :( )

I don't recall the Inferno insta killing bosses in story/chapter challenge? When I try it in the trials without god mode, it 1 shots all the greater fiends during the last animation lol.

If these modding posts are annoying let me know and I'll stop posting them!

Oh man, going to have a lot of fun with this, figured out how to modify weapon string/combos!

Well, doesn't directly change the combo strings but I use code injection to modify the animation Ryu will perform. Can do pretty neat stuff like doing an Izuna drop but the end of the Izuna animation is changed to the underworld drop lool!

Restored the original Forward Triangle/Y attack from NGS2 BoTA to NGRE with automatic shuriken cancel lol!

Do you know if any of this modding experience will carry over to the Master Collection version on PC?

I'd love to see a lot of the NG2 weapons/movelists in RE.

Yup! In fact, it'll be even easier on the master collection as searching for functions for games running on an emulator is not possible with cheat engine.

Unless Team Ninja encrypts values but those are fairly easy to bypass. Though I don't see it happening as the port seems pretty lazy lol.

Though I think using moves from the previous games if it doesn't exist in NGRE would be a little more work. You'd probably have to rip NG2 game files, locate the animation files, and then modify the the function that loads all the animations to point to the one you want and that might require additional modification for NGRE engine to be able to read it.

Though I think once it comes out on PC, people way more talented than me will figure it out pretty quick, I hope lol!

Looks like the DOA Throwback outfit will be in the NGS2 included in the Master Collection. Sweet!

Looks like it's using the DOA5 model but with the mask. thats definitely not NGS2's artsyle.
None of Sigma 2's character models looked like they fit in the game's artstyle. They all clashed with the art direction of 2 vanilla.
Framerate drops are a little concerning.

ALL DOA6 DOA5 DOA4 DOA3 DOA2U DOAD
