So far I’m loving Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

So fanfest recently happened, some very great stuff.

There was also unfortunate news later in the end that Masayoshi Soken (the man who did possibly almost every track in recent FF14) was diagnosed with cancer.

I went back to listen The Seat of Sacrifice theme (To The Edge) that Soken produced in the hospital while fighting cancer and boy this song is more emotional than ever.

Yeah To the Edge is probably one of the best soundtracks made in FF14. It's literally at the top of the list for me. During an interview about the end of the Shadowbringers story, he mentioned that the track itself was one of the best he's ever made up to date, which is fitting in the game as it's emotional, the story behind Emet-selch, and made it fit even more when Elidibus transformed himself into the most powerful and greatest hero that ever lived from the FF mainline series into the form of a primal, Warrior of Light.

The fact that he did this while being in the hospital. Soken is a pretty damn legend at this point.

@KasumiLover When you get a chance, check these out, @Eks and @Jadeinchains can definitely fill you in more on how phenomenal the music in this game is. Equilibrium definitely has Nier vibes and even amassed over 1.2 million views:

(Remix Jazz/Groove version)

Every single of these is a banger. FF14 was a game I was hesitant at first to play it because I wasn't feeling on paying monthly for an MMO, eventually I got hooked and it's my most played game of 2020 and currently 2021, haven't stopped since.

Yeah I admit it looks great, but when I take to those games I tend to go all-in. I’m afraid about what I might do and what place I may go to if I play it.

Can't blame you. Max actually made a video about it regarding the game FF11 many years back, he used to be addicted to it. It's also a perfect timing to the background music with this video. (Skip to 8:50 and play it from there)

Also mentions about a phobia, which ironically I have that same issue. The fear of being bored because I always felt that I would go crazy if i'm not doing something (Thaasophobia). And FF14 negated that. This was also one of the things with DOA that also negated it because I always would be doing something or hitting buttons in training mode when I used to play. If i'm not doing something I use to get pretty annoyed.

I was one of the kids back in school in the past where I can't sit still for long periods of time. Gaming helped with that including chess clubs back in school days. It's one of those things where you have to cope to something if you are not doing anything. I always considered sleeping it off as the last resort option if you have nothing to do for the day. Hanging out with friends, jobs, games, movies, shows etc. is like the things that can prevent such a thing that you have to cope to, otherwise i'd go crazy lol.

Also here's a dope WoL:

I've been meaning to get back to FFXIV but I don't really have time. Been working too much and the time requirements MMOs typically have don't support my current availability.

I'm finally getting around to playing Kingdom Hearts 3. Pretty mixed on how I feel about this series, but it's okay. Toy Story level was pretty annoying hearing that stupid 'You got a Friend in Me' song on repeat. The Tangled level was awesome, and now I'm stuck going through a Frozen level. I hated this fucking movie and my nephew made me watch thousands of times over. It's amazing how I kept my disdain for that film to myself for so long. I must really love him.

When Elsa came out and sang that stupid song, I couldn't help but think what a waste of developer time. We didn't need a recap of it, and everyone has heard it.

Despite all that this game continues to amuse me, and I will continue. Can't wait to play Chrono Cross on PC/XBOX by the way... hope they add wide screen.

Been waiting on anything Chrono related to make a return someday. Hearing Cross getting a remaster is pretty exciting.

I really loved the FF7 remake and the part with Yuffie, I hope they remake FF8 with Lightning, she’s such a great character.

I would have liked the DLC better if it was Yuffie starting off in her hometown - since they will likely cut that part out for remake. The Fort Condor piece will likely not make it in as it's available to play in the Yuffie DLC. I can understand both cuts if they happen.

Has anyone played 'Stranger of Paradise?' I'm interested, but I'm also wondering how long I can tolerate that red crystal creature death animation.

Been playing it and has been an absolute blast. Very fast paced & fun. The characters such as Jack is extremely hilarious for no damn reason.

Some of the downsides to FF Origins: Stranger of Paradise is the graphical output and has a lower customization count than that of Nioh, more specifically Nioh 2 but it makes sense since it's original characters. For some odd reason, there is this weird track record of TN having this split 50/50 of diminishing returns of sacrificing good graphics for high gameplay, or sacrifice good gameplay for high graphics. Some are quick to blame Square for it, but all they did was add the concept story. TN was the ones that developed the game realistically.

However I can't throw them under the bus fully since Stranger Paradise does looks like it was originally intent for PS5 (game being played on the PS5 was pretty well done) while the PS4 version was a bit shafted, PS5 is a more powerful hardware so it's understandable (hence why I also bought the PC version as backup and been playing it there). I still think there has to be something in a little of between for console considering Stranger Paradise is like Nioh where it's not over-the-top AAA quality like Horizon Forbidden West. A game like Nioh wasn't exactly demanding. If you check online, you'll notice that there is very good praise on the game and overall quality on PS5 vs mixed to average reviews on PS4, but most of those great praises were actually on PS5 with many unaware that PS4 is running on a lower optimization. Heck, even the demo ran at a lower resolution below 720p on PS4. The demo performance was so rough that the environment and characters were extremely washed out and pixelated. It's like playing with one eye open where everything is harder to see compared to using two eyes.

Overall, Stranger Paradise is worth the price for me so far. If you plan to get it, I highly recommend to get the game on either PS5/PC. I don't recommend getting it on the PS4 from testing but that's just me, it's not that bad for consistent play but the faults are noticeable where if you want the to enjoy the best version, you'd probably have to play the version where you won't exactly notice those issues.

Well, I would likely get it on XSX if I bought it. Microsoft is giving 6,000 reward points if you purchase it. I like to scatter between XSX and PC. The reward points I accumulate in a monthly basis pays for my game pass by itself and sometimes I'll have a few dollars left over to pick up a DLC.

I've heard the game has a decent story and that it has a pay-off and I am interested in the FF1 world, but how am I going to manage this and Elden Ring? I don't know yet.
