Got told, "I hate you" in PM after game. Told them I love them anyway. :3
After hours of online play, lag free play in the lab feels like heaven. xD
Not using one's main is akin to hiding one's power level, right?
I know I need to practice setups, but man, playing live online matches and learning on the fly is such a rush. So much more fun.
Yay, I got called a "fucking tryhard!" What do I win?
I can see why Rage Arts would piss off an old school Tekken player, but goddamnit, I love 'em (when used correctly, of course). xD

Rage is stupid, Rage arts are stupid, slo mo is stupid, armor moves are stupid, all this fluff put in to appeal to the lowest common denominator is stupid

The mechanics a certainly far cry from the classics (T1, especially, IMO), but they don't detract from the gameplay, at least for me. Still as fun as when I played T1 back in grade school (T4 I remember fondly as well).

@Camel with 2 thumbs Stop being so dusty XD I agree but you cant expect fighting games to not evolve with the times. You sound like a Smash player who thinks the series should have ended at Melee and that's the pinnacle of what Smash is capable of and there should be no fun to be had unless you're ultra competitive at it.
Advantage in DOA or any fighting game, is like possession in futbol, basketball or hockey. Thoughts?

"the harder it will be to keep possession", sure, time and space are harder to come by and shrink by the second. During the stun game, you're literally working with frames (that would be the equivalent of being deep in the attacking zone). Btw, I gotta quit the hold habit.

Or better yet... try instant Holds... then Mash out your Fastest launcher and see if you can catch the opponent off guard.

I know I've got a lot to work on defensively...

If DOA is easy to pick up, what are the harder fighting games? Tekken? VF? SF? KOF?...Smash? :p

I mean, there are countless people out there you can best in Street Fighter, myself included, because you put in way more thought than the next player. To be fair, I haven't played since childhood, so I have a lot of ground to cover. Now, you better hope I don't catch you within the year. :p

LoL... I should hope so... I don't want to be in another situation where I practice for weeks and get beaten by my friends who just button mash.

LoL... I got rekt so hard in KoF after practicing so long that I can't sleep some nights... Haunted by flashbacks of getting my ass beat.

Thats why I'm only practicing one thing in SFV.

You have nothing to worry about, I'm impatient. Rather than practicing setups and tech, like I should be, it's more fun to derp around against the computer and passively pick up whatever combos work. Hahaha. You and I both are susceptible to getting beat by mashers. If I'm to stand a chance, I'll have to correct that habit. :)

Thats the one I'm using now (The Madcatz one)...

For DoA its unnecessary.... infact the DS4's D-Pad may actually be better I hear (never used one myself)...

Its great for 2D Fighting Games that have no lasting appeal beyond their execution...

That being said... it is rather large... because they decided to keep both the Touch Pad and Analogue Stick.

Finally know what you mean about playing online. Dropped a juggle and possible win opportunity due to lag. Played the DOA stage vs. Pai, did a bounce with Honoka's 9K after they mid-held in response to my previous attack, tried to follow up with 66P+K * P+K just inches away from the electric ropes, fucking missed the juggle. Would have won with the amount of health my opponent had. :(

    LoL... it sucks right...

Luckily the developers do allow you to simulate the lag... and you can practice with the lag and still do well...

    I tried it...
First of all and In my case specifically...there's no setting for the amount of actual lag I experience.... I have entire seconds worth of lag....

    And secondly...
It kinda limits your character choice.... since some characters have moves that require precise timing, and that lag can throw your timing off...

Still though... its nice Team Ninja allow you to practice with lag...
