  • "Is Rig a better set character than a tournament character" is going to be one of the hardest but most fun question I'll answer.

On one end, I feel with the way the game plays mechanically, Rig has the tools necessary to make the right adjustments in a long set. However, on the other hand I feel Rig's also beneficial in a FT2 scenario.
After some time, I finally played some fighting games again and it was fun labbing Rig again. DOA 6 will take some getting used to but I finally get to learn.

Unfortunately since my priority’s school, sports, & college/sports ministry, I will not be able to play as much. But I’m still gonna find time to learn & hopefully support the local scene/make at least 1 major (TFC).
I wish the player who played NiCO against Kokoro played as Rig. Every time I see Rig gameplay it’s either a mashfest or Rig’s just standing there minus at EVO.
Kingdom Hearts 3 has been spoiled for me. I thank youtube for force-feeding recommended videos of KH3's ending with the thumbnails of every important plot point & titles that basically say what happens. Smfh.
So I’ma have to stay off youtube for at least 5 more days. Kingdom hearts is being highly spoiled.

@Glitterati Some people intercepted a delivery truck and stole copies. Some got it off retail who "knew people". There's so many ways people got it early.

@ChaolanLegacy Too late. Title & thumbnail now says everything you need to know.

*Pulls Aquanort face* IT'S TOO LATE. Yeah, I sort of got spoiled a bit too, but they weren't awfully important spoilers like the ending to the game and I haven't checked those vids at all, so I'm still good. Ah well, for me the biggest concern is gameplay rather than story, I'd like the game to be on par or better than KH2's but chances for that are pretty slim imo.
Welp after 3 days of DOA 6 beta, I can say I had a lot of fun playing despite having no experience with Ryu & Hayate. GGs to FNC Savior, DragonNinja, J.D.E., Mr. Wah, & everyone else.
After hours of testing this beta I can firmly say this game is going to be lit. Only maybe 2-3 pet peeves for me but I like the gameplay.

Answered a lot of my concerns with the fatal rush & break blow. I like the exchange of Break blow armoring through strings and mid wake-up kicks (Possibly even lows I did crush a low wake up with it once) & such but cost all the bars and can be crushed by lows, normal hold, & even thrown & Sidestepped.

Sidestepping's mostly fluid from what I experience. My only concerns include either a desync of players or a glitch where some games I end up playing as the opposition and My character's frozen & the screen freezing after a round or 2. I'ma have to look into break holds to see where that's strong in situations cause I feel break blow is very beneficial. After that no complaints here.
So according to a SC leak, they rather add Cassandra who had no involvement until 2 & Amy who wasn't even playable until 3, instead of Hwang who was involved since SOUL EDGE???

But the point is if they're remaking a story and retelling it, it makes sense to put people who actually took part in that part of the story. Not people who entered later in the sequel. No if's and's or buts. And it's ridiculous that it'll take 2 seasons, if there even will be 2 seasons, for people who should've been in the base game to begin with.

If DOA 7 is retelling DOA 1 but they take away Leifang, Tina, & such but put Kokoro, Honoka and whoever just because they're "popular" then you're not RETELLING the story. And it's silly to put 2B whom I absolutely can care less for and has no part in SC's future before you put people who play parts in the main story.

Even if there will be season 2, the amount of Setsuka, Hilde, Lizardman fans that want them in the game will probably get their wish before any Hwang or even Yun Seong fans.
Unpopular opinion: I rather listen to music like Uyama Hiroto & stuff than Meek Mill & such when I'm gaming. Give me a good solid instrumental or jazz music any day. It's soothing too.
I can't believe I go back to look at some of the tourneys I played and I can't believe I was so close to top 32 in that online tourney. In fact I was 33rd!!! Shows how much labbing can get you. Can't wait for 2019. Hopefully top 32 becomes a reality in DOA, SC (Not likely in SC), & Tekken.

And to think at Final Round I went 0-2 and in the end turned around and got 33rd. Crazy to think about.
Let's see what is the main Fighting Game line-up: SFV:A, T7, SC VI, DBFZ, DOA 6, & now MK 11. Man 2019 for tourneys are going to be stacked.
Kinda salty about a Bear winning. Hwoarang, Bryan, Steve, Kazuya, Heihachi, and such can't perform on the big stage but a bear can? Still a great world tour overall but the end. :'(

Rangchu is the only bear player who places high and does it consistently with a low, low-mid tier character, so he earned it. Some players who mained high execution characters switched because it was quite hard playing them and that might've limited them, like how jdcr rarely plays Heihachi anymore, or how Speedkicks tried to use Kazumi instead of Hwoarang, also, let us not forget how many of them used Jack and Drag.

I get that Rangchu really grinded and I'm happy about him. They did him dirty w/ the celebration too. But maybe cause I'm just a fan of Hwo, Steve, & others and I want to see them win that it doesn't give me happy vibes that a bear wins but Hwoarang, Steve, & such can't. I'm happy a Drag & Jack didn't win though. Season 2 did justice with that.

    T..J. Bernard
Which is why the # of Drags dropped to only people who truly liked him. But even by that Hwoarang, Steve and others were outperformed by a Bear showing that high execution characters as those still don't got enough to win when it counts.
Marduk, Armor King & Julia!!! Not bad picks. Would've went Bruce instead of Marduk but I'm cool w/ it. And Negan looks meh. He'll bring players in but not the most intriguing. He looks good graphically though.
Unpopular opinion: I probably would say the biggest thing a new player should learn 1st in any 3d fighter is movement.

But my awful movement. I had no idea how to SS, so everyone SS'd me, I knew nothing of backdashing so people kept good pressure on me. Once I learned it and learned to utilize environment I finally learned DOA, fundamentally at least and it made me appreciate the game more and the character I use.

    T..J. Bernard
Lastly, this may be a bad example because there was no training and all but in SC VI's beta, I think the biggest thing that took me a long way was movement. Cause at that time, I knew absolutely nothing about the characters at all (haven't played since SC II) but knowing how the game moved, I utilized it to my advantage and w/ that it carried over to the real game.
    T..J. Bernard
    T..J. Bernard
I know it's long but I think the biggest fundamental everyone should learn 1st is movement. Then Character & tools. Then MU's.
I never knew a Character based rank is making DOA all the way like Tekken. Shii Soul Calibur is just like tekken too. And since I wanted a ft2 format, Street Fighter is just like tekken too.

@T..J. Bernard you don't have to explain yourself tho, if you feel like character rankings is a good idea then just stand by it, you don't have to justify it for people who disagree xD I personally dont think it's like Tekken, alot of games have character ranking, tekken isn't the first or only. Plus DOA5 basically has it with the character points system to a degree

Because your mind was Blown ? ;)
I think DOA would benefit highly with a Character based rank instead of overall rank. With that, should I really want to grind someone not Rig or Jann, I could do so and really grind from the beginning.

Idk about the name thing since there's a likelihood of being matched up against boosters and rage quitters and we wouldn't know who they were and it would be hard to avoid them, that and there's player(s) I personally don't want to play with so I would prefer to know who I'm fighting, at least in casual or quick match if they have that xD

Nope. Just suggestions for rank mode. SC has character rank also. + SC rewards streaks as well. SF I think goes by Ft2 format too.
