    Most 2D games, only exceptions I can think of where this isnt such a large problem are NRS games (you can react and fuzzy gaurd out of most low/overhead mix up scenarios) and air dashers (just chicken block that shit)

    I stopped at 3rd Strike and haven't kept up with 2D after that. I can't speak for NRS games but I believe you.
    would literally anyone complain if DOA adopted some kind of lockout mechanic like Killer Instinct? (i.e if you're stunned and you guess wrong on your counter you're prohibited from countering for 3 seconds)

    I've actually proposed a similar mechanic before. Mine, however, would limit the player to 1 hold attempt per critical stun. I don't believe you should be locked out from hold attempts in neutral, however.

    Yeah, it's called Critical Burst. lol That's the closest to that imo It's painful to some people that they can't mash hold like past DoAs. Especially when you finally recognize where the attack is coming from. Makes it more tactical. Almost concerned with how much holding is in DoA6. You saw Taipei? They were pre grabbing because they presumed they would hold waaay more.

    No. DOA6's stun threshold is already short and hi-counter throws are looking to induce 200% damage. I am however open to the notion of holds costing meter (along with Break Holds of course).
    Everytime i have the audacity to use a mid that's not true with Bass, ppl just go under that $hit :/

    @Radiance whole 4p string just whiffs on brad in lying stance, 6p can hit but he has to be really close, and in some cases it doesn't hit at all (i think it's some open/close stance shenanigans), his other mids can hit him just fine though (3p, 6k, 7k, etc)

    yeah, her 6k hits pretty high, shame cause it's mid, tracking, fast, and has follows up, but it can't hit shit lol
    for all my love of dark souls and bloodborne, i've never actually played demon souls, i need to get on that

    might be, but i still want to play it, just to complete the whole souls game circle, and from what i hear it's like dark souls but with 0 poise and way more busted and jank, which sounds hella interesting (luv me sum jank souls, that's why ds3 can go screw it'self)

    Pretty jank, but pretty godlike. There are definitely some things that you will be able to link to Bloodborne, as well as a retroactively weird return for a voice you've heard before. ;)

    so Nyo's 4P+k p has much faster start up, 6p is no longer a dead end string (i assume the k ender is unsafe if the p ender is still safe), and she has a mid kick option out of 9p, interesting

    nice buffs to her mid range to full screen game, i wonder if her upclose game will still be garbage, but if they give her solid tools at the every range besides upclose, that's a tradeoff I can live with

    Remember when TN announced they were gonna stop supporting DOA5 and a good chunk of FSD's users bounced? only to come back en masse when DOA6 got announced? good times
    what's the downside to not teching in DOA6? cause either there isn't one or im overlooking something super obvious

    Well, if we ain't getting force techs, hopefully we'll get the mechanic where the more ground hits you take the shorter the time you can stay grounded b4 you're forced to get up, i know doa2 had this, dunno about the other games though

    I know it does the, if you pressed any button, even G and you get hit grounded, it "force techs" by making you essentially reset as if you were just hit on the ground and you yourself tech roll but it's disadvantageous. iirc itazan got forced tech like this by Sonici @the reveal. I don't remember this happening to myself during beta because I hit somre dudes a couple times while they were OTG but no force tech

    Yeah DOA6 still has the: if you press a button while getting OTG'ed, you'll get force teched. Also if you get hit by 2 consecutive ground hits (close together), you'll get force teched too. Only 1-hit forced techs seem to be out.

    thats what i told myself when i was playing mkx, "eh, not really feeling it but if i stick with it eventually it'll click", for 3 years i played mkx and for 3 years it never clicked, the game just lacked freedom and fluidity of mk9, i was hoping they would losen up with the sequel but they've done the exact opposite and pretty much doubled down on everything i didn't like in mkx
