1 player being good with a character says more about that player than it does the character, that'd be like saying Panda is good in Tekken because Ragchu won the TWT, which is false, Ragchu is just that good. Same goes with Hitomi, she's not strong in DOA6, but Xavier is just an awesome player
Someone being good with a character doesn’t mean that a character doesn’t suck and/is limited. I’m good with Raidou, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t suck because he does.
So since I play Tina what are my best options with beating Marie Rose to the initial punch? I do my best to hold her, but my reads are not great. I look for big damaging throws and they do help me win, but if I start getting tangled into what feels like infinite combos I start buckling up and getting nervous. The speed game is a big problem for me so I struggle with Kasumi and other fast characters.
I still haven’t seen a valid argument from you. Xavier is very strong, definitely. But that doesn’t mean that Hitomi is a good character. She’s not bad but she’s just not as good as she used to be.
short answer: don't be hasty for the first attack, Marie Rose's most threatening options come from getting caught with her punch parry which can lead alot of bad situations and her advanced holds that lead to unbreakable combos, she thrives off impatience and hastiness so the best way to fight her is to not play into her strengths and play defensive, i.e just block
@Onryoki I go based off what I see, and I've seen Hitomi beat ass when she is used and she'll probably beat more in the future. I remember people said the same bs about Alpha 152 in DOA5 vanilla and also Eliot.
Strong players make their characters strong with good practice and training. I don't need to make an argument because I've seen this situation 1,000 times over.
let her make the first move, and if you just block it out, she'll be in crappy position (if she goes for high/mid strikes, she'll be minus, if she goes for throw, she's forced to guess on your wake up, if she goes for lows, she'll be slighly plus, but these are reactable ), once that happens, counter play correctly and she'll be much easier to handle
as for Kasumi, you're on your own, i got nothing :/
Anyone can beat ass with a specific character lmao. Player skill also comes into play while using character. That doesn’t mean the toolset of a character is necessarily good. Xavier is a long time Hitomi loyalist. Obviously he’s gonna be good with her, that still doesn’t change the fact that her tools aren’t limited.
Steam: vgmkyle add me whenever. For PC I will get online later today or Monday. The good rig is at a Unreal Tournament 99 lan party lol, but I will try installing and playing on the spare rig now. I'm confident I've played you on PS4, but I understand why you wouldn't want to play on that system.
That worked.
For the record, I hope you're right, and that you unleash some godly unprecedented Marie tech on my head that I never saw in my hours of labbing.
I'm not using Marie Rose. I'm using Tina. I wanted to put some hands on ya for telling me to train harder because I struggle with Marie Rose. All you would have to do to see good Marie Rose is watch some of the tournaments in Japan. Liner Back specifically. I'm not disagreeing completely that some of her mechanics are NOT good, but she can combo people to death at least.
I literally sat there watching Linerback with a bunch of Marie mains discussing it. We understood what was happening, and we also understood why he switched to Kasumi every time he got into hot water.
I said that his kit is dumb and poorly designed, not that it isn't or can't be viable in a competitive setting. And I stand behind that. His current kit is a YOLOfest designed by schizoids on cocaine. It can work, just like Diego and NiCO's unga bunga shit can. But that doesn't mean I like it.
and Marie's still not good
