  • For any one wondering about how to say Fahkumrum's name. Fa-kum-ram with a bit of a soft sound for the starting, "a" and first, "m" then regular sounding-, "m" but don't actually say, "Ram" like the animal. More like, "run" I believe. Like ramen CMIIW
I don't understand why the distance detail in tekken has what I believe to be centimeters in The data. I'da understood if it was just meters. I can't really gauge centimeters in this case as you'll realistically not be more than 2-3 meters away from your opponent to keep within attack range.

I wish that T7's frame data display also displayed the move's reach & distance like in DOA5 or DOA6.
People praising Capcom like they're back. MH was ite, would like an RPG like it with more than Boss enemies though. Got boring. ReMake 2, watched my boy play it. Played all prior REs. DMC5, didn't get 4 due to too many 4s during that era I already bought. SF4, SC4, GTA4, Got Bayonetta instead

    No DarkStalkers
    No Breath of Fire

Who’s this Capcom you speak of? Aren’t they dead?
Like why is it that people need to explain that to newbies? JDCR explaining Jabs like it's a foreign concept. VF taught me those things Day 1.

To be fair, Tekken does an excellent job at giving you no fucking idea how to play the game properly. The average newbie probably doesn't know how to apply a jab.

Lately, a lot of common sense gets thrown out the window whenever newbies to fighting games try to learn. People swear fighting game jargon is in another language because of how overwhelming of a genre it can be looking in from the outside

The ironic thing is that FG's are no more complex than any of the major esports competitively. It's just an unfortunate stigma.
What if Virtua Fighter 6 hasn't released because there'd be no way to monetize it? SF set a bad precedent charging for legacy characters. Thing is, VF couldn't do it bc then there'd be no characters.

VF has always had a smaller roster so they wouldn't be able to charge for a legacy character without it directly affecting its fans, plus they could monetize it with costume dlc like they did VF final showdown when they charged for character custom item packs. They could release it if they wanted to but I don't think they think it's worth it atm

Yeah, with regards to VF, if it were to be "monetised", it would be through customisation packs, and potentially stages or themes. If SEGA isn't interested in VF6, an option may be to sell/give the franchise to someone that would follow through on it, such as like with Bayonetta for instance (Nintendo took over) or Shenmue 3 (Deep Silver took over).
There's 2 kinds of people, DoA players that appreciated DoA5's nuances n see the game(6) sucks. Then 6 players that because they're consistent now will say 6 is awesome. Usally they're not versed in any other FG.

As for the general accessibility argument, meter mechanics do disproportionately favor newer/less skilled players. That's not an exclusive quality to DOA, however, and I urge you to find a current fighter without them (save Tekken; usually). This again loops back to my point that DOA6 is hella-flawed, hella-messy, and still better than most of the current competition somehow.

I don't think it's really hard to tell who's good tbh, consistency and how they play do. And I'm personally happy they did away with the changes like SE, you don't have to worry about SEing and instead you can focus on guessing or waiting out in defense. A ground game improvement I'd love tho when Rachel comes, that's the only flaw I see

Better than most current competition. lol. I feel like DOA not even trying to compete with anything. They just doing there own thing at this point for sure. Boobies I wanna grab em!
lol tried to call the millville police depatment and ask for emery but apparently his facebook name is fake lol was gon b like, "I want to report a robbery of DoA5's ground game"
Journalism is just professional snitching, let's be real. As well as nose-poking. Status Posts are cheap threads and DoA is the dude-bro, version of VF.The guy that only watches action films, bc his brain can't process deep rhetoric n drinks Budweiser and reminds you he's straight every 2 mins with innuendos/thats what she said jokes.
If Western players are more dominant and not necessarily Asian players in a FG, I question its credibility. If I'm being honest here. There has to be a lack of technical fidelity the Asian players can't utilize thus be uniquely threatening
Having trouble tying to play a game on my PC w/PS4 pad thru Windows Game Launcher (MS exclusive game). Don't seem to have these issue typically anywhere else. Any solutions?
Depending on the culture/background of people when ordering delivery over phone, my Apt. is 4H. I say, 4H as in Hector for Caridad, Henry for French cuisine, Han for Chinese and Hank for southern
One problem with making fighting games accessible is the Dunning-Kruger effect to people who have played previous entries and harder games overall. You can't truly gauge what you need improvement on.

For DOA6's case it varies. There are some good things about it as well as bad things. There is no sense of achievement if you are not "truly" outplaying your opponent. This like connect four vs chess, you get more bang and sense of victory if you win a chess match compared to connect four.

I mean, it's been noted here and there from even other studios that making everything too easy just leads a game into clunk zone (which has been proven from ancient fighting games). There are some things that could be made easier for FGs game obviously such as move bufferings in heavy fighters (KOF) because of the format, but when it comes to mechanics, not all should be easy.

^/^ This I don't like the victories to feel shallow, it's just as bad as losing. You never really learn from your experience be it win or loss because the pins already set up for you to knock down. Sure, I can win because I know the rules but it removes the factor of discovery and satisfaction that comes w/it I'm more curious and engaged when me and my opponent does a cool setup no one expected or knew about.
