I wanna know what Namco was thinking combining Klonoa and volleyball like that but I’m not complaining cause that game kicked total ass!!!

Klonoa throws his enemies around like a ball, Volleyball has balls, it makes perfect sense!

but real talk i didn't know the volleyball spinoff even existed until yesterday, looks like a blast to play

It's seriously tons of fun, you just have to mentally prepare yourself for Klonoa's cheesy british accent lol!
KoF X Senran Kagura, never thought i'd see that crossover, unfortunately it's for some mobile game so r.i.p any interest I have to play it

The New Link mobile game. They look pretty nice to be honest, I'm kind of not surprised by the crossover however, SK hasn't received a main title in a long time, only side games and their characters appeared in a lot of games now as guest characters one way or another, I'm actually surprised by the fact that KoF All-Stars didn't do a crossover with SK yet.
Something i've been noticing lately is that alot of players when they get reset into the wall, they wont tech into fore/background to escape wall pressure, they'll just tech in place and stay near the wall
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
This can apply to a more higher form of play where whenever you get wall splatted, someone may have an unholdable setup for when you side tech because people will know you don't like being in the wall, so time to come up with an unholdable setup for when you side tech, but because that's become a brain norm, you do the unexpected and back tech.

    Camel with 2 thumbs
That's an interesting take, I don't really apply unholdables to my wall pressure and i seldom am trying to hold on frame 1 when i come off the wall (im a block high/low or mash kinda guy) so I wasn't even thinking about it from that angle lol

that said what the unholdables I do know they all apply to back tech, if side tech they all whiff, but becasue ppl rarely side tech it wouldn't matter that much in the long run
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
@Camel with 2 thumbs The opposite. People side tech more than they back tech, which is why there is more unholdables for side teching than back teching. Especially near a wall. If Manny back techs near a wall, its usually because he assumes you have a side tech unholdable which is a bit more common.
SF players are stuck in a toxic relationship, they spend 4 years complaining about how ass SFV is while paradoxically playing nothing but SFV, like there aint shit else out there to enjoy

so many i can sorta sympathize with SF players, because alot of them have been playing 10,15,20 years, so just dropping SF just cause they don't like it might be incredibly difficult, but at the same time i've definelty had franchises that I loved but when they went to shit I ending up dropping them like a bad habit (Sonic and Ninja Gaiden are few) so maybe it's something else

League is an insanely addicting game I can tell you that. The feeling when you carry a game or outplay the enemy laner/team is probably one of the most satisfying feelings I've had in/with a video game ever, also, there are a lot of people who started in one of the earlier seasons, like s1-4, meaning that they've been playing League for 6-10 years and its pretty much the only video game they play.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Its very rare for a League streamer to do variety streams, maybe even rarer than fighting game players playing more than one fighting game or other games outside of the ones they're grinding.
Aquapazza is one the best anime fighters you'll never play because it's abandonware that's locked behind Japanese PS3 hardware :(

Didn't that have a US release? I saw it in Gamestop one time.

the Vanilla version got a physical release in the US, but Japan got 2 updated versions (1.5A and 2.0) which retooled the balance and added 6 new characters, those never got a physical release so you have to dl them off Japanese PSN

last time I went, but that 2013, im just assuming that's the case, PS1/PS2 games still going strong over there, you don't really see ppl playing PS3/PS4's, on top of that Xbox and Nintendo are practically nonexistent out there lol. but alot of that has to do with Sony Europe being where most of the electronics are imported from

It is a bit surprising but now that I think about it, iirc anything PS4 or Xbox One related in Brazil isn't cheap so it makes sense that other countries stick with some of the older games and imo thats not a problem, the 3 games you mentioned are fine games that can be seen as better games than the latest entries of the respective franchises.

That is why when they made Samurai Shodown (2019) I was wondering who they made the game for because it wasn't the old heads. @Camel with 2 thumbs If you think of how the downtown looks and the cleanliness of it considering the hefty fines for littering, you'd think they weren't underdeveloped. US seems more, esp. Politically atm
Every time i get hit with Jann Lee Sweep into Dragon Gunner I hang my head in shame; there is no excuse to be falling for that in 2020

@Hold_Junkie93 I mean, its not like Fireball Wars: The Game is any better but they will be played anyhow because it is made by the same people who make MK. The reason why I might pick up Inj2 is because of Starfire and Mikey, otherwise I probably wouldn't even bother with it at all, at times I even struggle to keep up with MK related stuff, completely missed out on MKX and XL for example.

I went for the freebie, played it for about 2 days...
I'm of two minds when it comes to Ghost of the Sushi Bar, on one hand it's looks alright and I am ready to play some new stuff, on the other I wanna save my money for all the Q4 games I actually wanna buy

The f2p version is on ps4, give it a whirl. It pretty much plays like smash bros for normal ppl who don't wanna invest 10 years into tech skill just to be decent (that said a background in platform fighters will definetly help), its very accessible and fun
Never thought i'd say these words but dam, I feel bad for Will Smith :(, but then I remember that he might banging Margot Robbie on the side and then I don't feel so bad
Anyone notice how Tamaki and Kazumi have some REALLY similar attack animations?
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
Hachijo style from Kazumi does take some elements from Aikido even though it's more focused to Karate so that may be it.

It could be possible, though it might just be an Aikido thing. Similar to how Bajiquan users must always have an elbow attached to it regardless of the form and game.

That does make alot of sense then, I thought she was a straight up Mishima Karate practitioner so I was confused when I picked her up again and saw some very familiar looking moves

guess that explains why I gel with Tamaki so much, she takes after my favorite T7 character lol
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
Yeah, it's probably like the martial artists that are favored to one style but absorbed some techniques from another fighting style and incorporated to their own to form their own sense of style in a mix. Coincidentally, Kazumi is one of them interestingly enough. Hachijo (which is Karate+Aikido) and Mishima-style together. You could even say Kazumi has 3 forms into one lol
Once offline meetups become a thing again, you think sponsors/T.O.'s/venues are even gonna try to mess with Smash after everything that's happened?

    Force_of_Nature
If the Smash community stays committed to put on a good event I'm sure they'll turn things around. But yes, if any funny business happens at a venue, they might give the Smash community a "one-strike-and-you're-out" condition. Out of any FGC, the Smash community has done one of the better jobs of supporting itself.

then again the majority of this games' players are from europe and japan, and the south america players dont get really active until late evening times

Interesting, I went up on UNICLR on Monday in the morning on ps4 (another infamous game for its terrible online netcode). There was only one lobby (either US or Japan), I made a lobby, practiced for 15 minutes inside lobby, no one was coming, went off. You might be able to find games during the weekends but on weekdays luck might be a necessity in order to play either game online.

It's certainly better on weekends but yeah, weekdays from morning to late noon servers as empty af, they pick up during the evening and most players are from Europe or japan, and thankfully the netcode is good enough to play them w/o being a shitshow
General life advice, if you're prepared to talk sh1t about someone, directly or indirectly, do not be surprised when they confront you
A few takeaways from playing DOA2 Millennium edition, wall pressure and SE'ing were OD, throw launchers were harder to convert off of, Bokuho ducking might of been even stronger there than in any modern DOA...
