  • fun fact, back in the 2000's Capcom debated releasing a HD port of 3rd Strike with updated graphics, balance changes, and fixes, but ended up scrapping the idea due to the abysmal reception of 3S in the West

I have to agree. 3S wasn't popular until it came out on PS2. I played it in the arcades when it came out, no one was playing it.

funny how that works out, game get practically ignored at the arcade yet people claim to remember it so fondly, I remember when I was a yung boi and I would go the arcade to play VF, those cabinets were always empty, everyone was too busy playing SF, Tekken, Marvel, and MK

@Camel with 2 thumbs LOL same thing happened to me too. I went to VF, no one is near those cabinets. I was in the Tekken crowd and I had my fair share, not to mention beaten Tag 1 twice ;)

it's funny cause I remember another tournament where Tokido was fighting an Abigail and he was comboing him in the corner, the Abigail was near stun so if Tokido finished the combo properly it would of it stunned him and the follow up would of killed, but Tokido dropped the combo and Abigail lived, after dropping the combo Tokido uppercutted and won

While it looked like an obvious drop to everyone watching, over in the commentary they're going wild yelling "TOKIDO INTENTIONALY DROPPED THE COMBO CAUSE HE KNEW IT WASN'T GOING TO KILL AND OPTED TO GO FOR A RESET! WHAT A GOD!"

    -_-

Secretly, no matter how silly the situation is, us Americans will find some way to be a sucker for JPN gameplay even if it's pure random.

    "JESUS WHAT A READ"

Daigo (streaming): Oh shit that worked, I dunno I just guessed lmao

"WOW, AND THAT WAS JUST A GUESS. Lord Daigo we are not worthy to be in your presence for that one situation".
I'm of 2 minds when it comes to Caggy, not a fan of her visual design in the slightest but her gameplay ticks all the boxes for me (luv me some trap setplay characters), so annoying :/
I actually really like the core fighters model, I wish more fighting games would adopt it, that would save me so much money lol
it's amazing how little MU knowledge you need to win when you play hyper offense characters

    ChaolanLegacy
That plus the match-up inexperience from the other player's part is more than enough to net you wins 70% of the times with super offensive characters, I-No in REV 2 for instance isn't played by too many players but for the most part they're either absolutely garbage at playing her or they're orange-pink ranked players, they're rarely inbetween and she's like super oppressive + top 5.

ah, I-no, she's one of those characters where you spend 10 mins with her in training mode and you already know she's ridiculous, but you can also tell she's kinda hard to play so I can see why ppl skip ovr her despite her being strong, hell if I was more serious about GG I would definitely be playin her and Millia, but im a filthy casual so i'll stick to playing ez mode Jam
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Not a bad choice, she's quite unga too, very offense/rushdown based character, the perfect way to describe how Jam players usually play is in the words of Kizzie: "The only time a Jam player stays on the ground is when you hear Duel 1 Lets Rock, Duel 2 Keep on Rocking, Duel 3 Turn up the heat, thats the only time".
Name a fighting game you've played where the mix up's were weak but the damage was insanely high

oh yeah, KOF games are like that, since most dmg is locked behind C punishes, jumps, or light attacks if you have meter and are playing the right character, but SFV season 1 didn't have strong mix?!??! as a man who played Mika and Laura i'll have to disagree!

Actually thinking back to season 1, mix was pretty much relegated to Mika, Laura, Necali in the corner, Ibuki in V trigger with full knives, and eventually Urien and Balrog, everyone else either had no mix or fake mix (looking at you season 1 Vega's and your dash in command grab dash in shenanigans)

I just think overall in fgs, mix-ups are starting to feel artificial since a lot of us have access to everything now to see all the tech. So, a lot of mixes, while not useless ofc, are pretty much known beforehand and are losing that surprised, "Good shit" factor. It's disregarded more as BS robbery. Games need more system balance to be respected it seems. My opinion ofc
You know you're a Danganronpa fan when you wanna replay the whole trilogy despite the games being linear visual novels that play out the same every time

TBF you could always do free time events of characters you didn't talk to before if anything.

True, true, although if I recall i may have grinded the post game the see all the free time events I missed for DG1 and 2, haven't done it in 3 yet cause 3's post game was flipping massive, so I at least have that to look forward to

that and I haven't seen all the hidden scenes so I need to do that to
Phantom Breaker is getting a western release? I remember waiting for this game to get localized back in 2013! but better late than never I guess :/
playing a Male MC in Genshin yet the dialogue sometimes refers me as "she" or "her", qu'est que c'est?
Are fighting games becoming too casual? debatable, but I will say this, playing fighting games casually with casuals is more fun these days than it used to be

Imo, it is rare nowadays that a complete casual would suddenly get into fighting games because of the depth of x fgs, especially to the point where this player would suddenly have a desire to compete in tournaments, they just want to play the game with friends to have fun and do cool things in them without having to learn one-frame link combos and whatnot.

DOA Player: Knows a lot about the hold system, always throws when others hold, seems to know a lot of expert combos, always hold the right attacks with expert holds, dealing even greater damage
Random online player: Spams punches and kicks in a random order
DOA Player: So, you have chosen death.

Really though, DOA wasn't as complex back then, but in some way it didn't have as many mechanics/moves as DOA5/DOA6 did, so it wasn't that much of a hard game; just more slow and sluggish because there were much lesser moves/mechanics, but as the sequels came the mechanics kept growing and getting more advanced, even more than Street Fighter, in my opinion.
