  • Really intrigued by the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection! Though, I'm curious to see how it compares to Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on the Xbox Series X (via the enhanced backwards compatibility). I'm guessing that the NGMC will be 4K60fps?

    I just hope they're using the Vita versions of 1 and 2 as the base, since they actually kept the ultraviolence of the originals intact.

    True, though the Vita versions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ & Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2+ ran horribly and had neutered graphics to fit the platform. But yes, I would like the full gore experience if possible for the NGMC. The main thing I'm concerned with is the overall performance of the game.

    They ended the second season pass only 3 months ago, it might be a bit too soon to reveal anything, they might be thinking about the characters that they want to put in the 3rd season pass right now, they'll announce something this year at the very least if they're going to make a SP3 later on. Arc Sys' side is what caught my attention. Both Daisuke and Mori are going to be present at this roundtable this time.

    KT is going to be present at the NGPExpo but imo they'll either have some news regarding the NG Trilogy or they'll announce a couple of Gust games.
    Fighting games really need the option to set 2 or more Reactions. Too often I'm wanting to test setups and I can only set 1 Reaction.

    as a workaround I just record the setup and test it on myself doing various options, which mostly works but yeah the convenience of having multiple reactions you can record and play out would be much appreciated

    My only options are to set the "Action" to something, like, repeatedly attacking which gets annoying considering how overzealous the dummies can get; or using the record function which is terrible for reaction-responses (it's better for timing/delay-based stuff or simulating footsies against the dummy for instance).
    What do people think of this hot take? I think that James Chen went a little too far into Boomer mode:

    On a different note, I do miss offline casuals but I was never really part of the arcade scene when it was in its prime.

    All I can think of are these 4 words. Shut the fuck up. I mean I agree with his statement that the online environment is lonely. But the rest? No. Like that guy said, there are no social expectations on a discord. Information is even more accessible through internet.

    I agree that offline environments are better though. There’s usually a less toxic atmosphere, people really can’t be toxic offline because they’d get bopped in their face.

    Unsure about this one. The KOF series as whole has always been population=me. If the steam version will increase its playerbase, only then I ll be convinced that its great to pick it up again. Not that just 13 but to include 98, 02, 14, and the upcoming 15 as well.
    How often does anyone beat out a mid Wake-Up Kick with a strike? I don't know why it's so inconsistent.

    I always assumed since you can delay WUKs that it was never practical to try to trade with them. Better to back away and whiff punish the kick.

    The active frames (4 or more AF's) should work better in theory, but it gets countered by the WUK's ridiculous invinicibility frames. I've tried beating it out with 3K's or stuff like Ayane's 236K and it's frustratingly inconsistent. And like has been mentioned, delaying the WUK timing at all will ruin you. However, I could occasionally "react" to a WUK animation with an i14 3K.

    As long as side wake up kick options exist, wake up killing options are situational and guesswork.

    Those Ceelow guides are pretty neat and well done, though very long (5 parts, between 50:22 to 1:41:52, 65 minute average length for the 5 parts). Would take an eternity to do that for the whole cast. And to put things in perspective, would DOA (or SC) guides get as many views as Ceelow averages?

    You are right. That kind of content works for games with a constant influx of new players. Also, in terms of view count, the standard deviation is high.
    Look at Cuddle Core's Alisa guide on That Blasted Salami's channel; the first part has almost 17k views, but the last part has less than 3000. Of course, they don't rely exclusively on ad revenue.

    Well, Squeenix could shut down the project, but there is a precedent in the Tifa versus Yang death battle video. ScrewAttack released it five years ago, and it has more than 8 million views. On the other hand, they became a division of Rooster Teeth shortly afterward, so maybe they had more bargaining power.
