Arcsys: We have heard your cries DBZF players, and we will finally tone down the one character that has been running the meta and causing players of all levels stress, we are nerfing...MASTER ROSHI!

Not the biggest fan of Akuma in T7, BUT if/when Namco makes Tekken x Street Fighter and there's a whole roster of SF characters with meter mechanics and cancelable specials in a 3D environment, that's gonna be a dope game, if it ever gets made

Well maybe they can go back to Tag 2, nope they hate that game to, well maybe they can go back to Tekken 5, oh wait it's super unbalanced and broken, well maybe they can go back to Tekken 4, nope can't do that every1 hates that game, well maybe they can go back to Tekken 1,2,3...naw, not possible, do Tekken players even like their own games?

Eh, depends on who you're asking really. People who hated Tag 2 more or less like 7, some who hate Tekken 7 liked Tag 2, the Koreans (according to TMM) liked Tekken 6, Tekken 5 (especially DR) was liked by almost everyone, same goes with Tag 1 but yeah, you're right, if they expect TxSF to not have or have little 2D mechanics then maybe they should just stick with the game prior to that one (if it'll happen).

@Camel with 2 thumbs There were fans that hated Tekken 5? o_O I thought that was balanced. I'm guessing they're entitled. I loved 4 because it almost followed DOA in terms of stage design. I was hopeful back then, Namco could've put in multi-tiered stages.
first week of 2021 we got a new strain of covid going around, capitol hill getting stormed, gootecks losing his mind on social media, 2021 looking like 2020 part 2 rn :/
clearly I was skipping class when effective free canceling was being taught in DOA school, cause if I ever have the audacity to stop my string and attempt to reset pressure on block I get mashed on like crazy :/ but of course it works when they do it to me

maybe that's why I've always gravitated toward characters who were more about having strong moves rather than having long strings
agree or disagree, fighting game scenes need beef and drama between players to make matches entertaining

It helps, sure but at the same time it isn't the only thing that could make a set or a match memorable. The Garireo vs Dogura grand finals back in EVO 2014 for Blazblue Chrono Phantasma didn't had any beef leading up to the event between the two players but the constant back and forth between the two and the hype was what made that one of the most memorable EVO moments imo.

These days its pretty much like "Wow, X player won Capcom Cup for this year, he/she's so happy" Then a couple of weeks later this player's back in the grind for the next Capcom Cup even though the first qualifier tournaments aren't going to happen yet. While the passion for these players is almost 100% there, I feel that the fun isn't exactly there for most anymore, more about the money and fame than pride.
Dont u just love it when you're trying to party up in a MMO with a diverse set of characters with multiple roles but everyone on your server is playing the melee DPS character?

Pffft! DPS classes are a dime a dozen. Until people realize that, I ll be laughing that you shouldnt take mercenary healers/buffers like me for granted. XD

definitely is an easy class to play when you don't speak the same language as everyone else, reminds me of back when I played ToP on Korean servers, I was a Voyager (offensive mage class) and despite the language barrier I always knew what my job was, let melee units draw aggro then I click on them and kill 'em in 1 shot, and it worked fine for years lol
How many indie 3D fighters actually exist? only ones I can recall are Girlfight, EF-12, Schwarzerblitz and Fate Unlimited Codes
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
Ballistic Fight, BAYANI. Probably more, but those two I remember from the top of my head since Spooky did streams for it.

Unfortunately, almost every single one of them is not very good or ok at best (but have to give some credit). Girl Fight is the worst of them all as it is in fact hot garbage.
Gamers: man, I wish we could go back to the days before DLC and constant updates, games were so much more pure and polished back then

Also gamers: 1 month and no DLC or updates? this is bullshit man, what a dead game
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Well, certain games were broken in certain ways, for example Ratchet and Clank games and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the speedruns for those games use glitches after glitches after glitches but you normally wouldn't encounter those glitches (or very rarely would) on a nromal playthrough, its like they made sure that the main things worked with that game and didn't bother with the rest.

So yeah, I can't really say that they were truly polished 100% of the times but I do feel that they made sure that the final product wouldn't be a disaster at the very least since they had no way to patch it later. In terms of fighting games, older games have very unbalanced rosters, some companies ended up making other versions of their games as a result, like Namco with Tekken 5.

Yeah, a lot of fighting games from the PS1 or PS2 eras were pretty unbalanced. It wasn't until the 360/PS3 era (gen. 7) that fighting games got better balance wise. Internet feedback also became more of a thing.
Tamaki's fun but her throw game is inexplicably whack, it's almost as bad as Ein's

You can actually also get limbo stuns off her advance mid punch hold as well, but it only works it they mash after being held, why anyone would mash when they've just been backturned and are minus a million is beyond me, but it does happens more than you think, basically if you advance mid punch hold some1 and go for the guaranteed launcher and you see red CH text on the side, that means they were mashing
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
so if you know they're gonna mash, you can opt for 5p+k after the advanced mid punch hold instead of the guaranteed 9k and score a limbo stun, which you can combo into her fatal stun which you can then combo into her 3p+k, which is one of her better launchers, honesly I just opt for the gaurenteed stuff but if you wanna make that read and be rewarded with mad dmg, be my guest

I feel these things would be a little more constant in 5 for her, but then again I'm bias. I don't know. Them making limbo and ground game more weak or less constant in 6 is annoying. but ill redownload to just to fool around again.
Do people who started with DOA5 even know who Tomonobu Itagaki is?

    Hold_Junkie93
First and only DoAs we're 1/2U for me on Playstations. I knew who he was of course. Enough that I can explain to my friend when he saw Hayabusa in DoA5 training mode that while he is originally from 8bit era NG, 3D Buds was in DoA first. Itagaki had a lot to do with changing his marketing for him. His appeal really. Change that 5 to a 6
    DeadlyChase
    DeadlyChase
@Hold_Junkie93 you never played 1 and you rarely knew anything about 2, and 2U wasn't on PlayStation. Hardcore was on playstation. The only thing you ever did was maybe play 2 Hardcore for like a week and then only played street fighter for ever after that. and then you told me you never played 3 or 4. So basically you only played 2, and 5
    DeadlyChase
    DeadlyChase
@Hold_Junkie93 I (Quote) fuck this game. I never really played the old DOA's only a little bit of 2 here and there, and I didn't have a Xbox my boy did. Only telling you this cause you said you had that memory loss so maybe you forgot no need to thank me though. :)
"I like the first Jet Set Radio but the 2nd one is garbage" said no one ever, which is odd, usually when a cult classic gets a sequel, it's either forgotten or despised, but every1 who likes JSR seems to also like JSRF

and looking at his promo art it looks like they gave him the Baiken Xrd treatment, dudes got a huge chest all of a sudden, but he still looks lanky in his silhouette, guess we'll just have to wait for that trailer

Is the samurai fanman going to be in strive? I think thats slightly better than blackface Hakumen!
I said it for DOA5 and i'll say it for DOA6, not a fan of how every character can drain half your life in a single combo, damage discrepancy between characters needs to make a comeback
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
@Force_of_Nature only other fighting game I know where CH's are as serious as they are in DOA is Koihime Enbu, normal combos in that game are short and only do 9-14% dmg, but if you land a CH with overhead, sweep, or universal anti air, game suddenly turns into marvel and now you're doing 50-80% combos with multiple wallbounces, groundbounce, OTG pick ups, shit's crazy
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
@DestructionBomb Bottom line CH's are the great equalizers, doesn't matter if you're a low dmg strike character or a high dmg strike character, once CH is in play we all doing dmg
    DestructionBomb
    DestructionBomb
Pretty much yep, but it's also the outcome between life and death as well.

Especially HiC. You can literally lose more than half your life because you whiffed a throw, or not getting it in time, or you lost your throw punishment trying to throw a move that's not easy to throw due to extremely fast move recovery or standard netplay. Lol that's just for throwing mind you.
Been having a blast playing Fighting Herds, but it gives me major SF x Tekken vibes with how rounds keep going to time and how it takes forever to kill your opponent
