  • As someone who has zero nostalgia for FF7 but really enjoys turned based-real time hybrid combat systems, should I give FF7 remake a chance or naw
If Potekim and Leo got toned down, you know Ramlethal 'bout to get nerfed into oblivion, but considering most ppl who play her are just degens who want to see a half naked waifu animate on screen, it probably wont affect her playerbase much
man I wish Smasho had SBMM, like why do I constantly get matched up with with ppl who are Samurai Warlord/God rank when i've been stuck at 8th dan for over a year :/
Back in the OG xbox days I remember this one guy in DOA2U who's user name was RyuMaster

That mf never used Ryu once, he was always playing Leon, and that shit cracks me up to this day

I remember back in DOA5U there was someone who went by the PSN "MAULSANTA" and no matter what, he would always pick Hayabusa in his Santa costume. Cracked me up.

Honestly I like these types of stories lel. I do remember a PSN name with Ayane-something. The player have been on my friendlist for years and nothing but Ayane profile pics and About Me, but the only character he played was Leifang, and he was pretty decent at the game as well. Not a single Ayane ever used though.
if you catch yourself in a blockstring against Rose in V-trigger with 3 bars and you got 25% health left, you dead, I thought this was SFV, not Nitroplus Blasterz
MK9 turns 10 years old, crazy to think that game came out a decade ago and is still my preferred option for modern MK, here's to hoping for many more years for that franchise
Raidou having poor movement, I get it, manz has a mid projectile with variable start up, Bass having poor movement, I get it, he's the big scary grappler, but Tamaki having poor movement, why???

I didn't say having a projectile was a good reason to nerf movement, but I can see why the devs would do it, as for Rachel, is she really out here with midweight movement speed? that's that waifu privilege for ya, still lost as to why Tamaki moves like sludge though, it's not like she touches you and you explode or once she gets going she's hard to stop

but she does have stuff going for her, i10 jab, i11 mid with her 7p, has a plethora of safe mids despite her priority and multiple built in OH strings that land reliably, So maybe her movement is ass for balancing? can't tell, DOA balancing is always weird, but that's part of it's charm

When it comes to projectiles there has to be an incentive behind it and purpose though, which there is zero in regards to Raidou's fireball because it's implemented poorly. Can't nerf something if the purpose of the nerf never existed to begin with.

It's more on the lines that DOA devs pay less attention to the more common roster, and not pay attention at all to the least common ones that are not relatively strong.
oh dam, didn't realize Nier Replicant was actually remake, this whole time I thought it was a Nier Automata spinoff

It's a spinoff/remake of 2010's Nier. Basically Nier sold like shit, so Square Enix released Nier Replicant with a pretty boy as the main character instead of an old man and it sold much better in Japan. Then things were pretty elementary for Nier Automata in 2017 when Square Enix realized that they shouldn't have old men as main characters haha.

well that's confusing af, but it wouldn't be Nier if it wasn't confusing lol

but I do remember hearing about square releasing a game with 2 region specific protagonists years ago, didn't realize it was Nier though
since the days wake up kicks being +30 on CH are long gone, there is literally no reason to not pressure ppl on wake up, even on soft knockdown

If you're talking 6, yeah, the lack of one hit force techs make this kinda risky. There's no reason to pressure someone now OTG. Rather take control of neutral than risk getting hit with WUK I might not see/read. Especially since break hold can negate your meaty and boom lost momentum anyway.

If BH didn''t exist, it'd be like VF where you're okay with getting hit with WUK. Though you can blow them up way more or even sidestep.

it's all risk vs reward at the end of the day, for me I just feel like it's a risk worth taking, not all the time though, obviously there will be scenarios where backing off is the optimal thing to do, like if you're playing for time, or if you're trying to keep your opponent out, or if you have low life, or if you're in a potential slipstun scenario, then yeah, back away, but other than that, im going in
So do ppl actually like having multiple playable characters in Ninja Gaiden? or are there weirdos like me who just wanna play with Ryu and think his harem of sidechicks can fugg off?

I definitely enjoy playing other characters like Rachel & Ayane, especially from NG Sigma when I get to see Rachel's breast jiggle when she moves, and NG Sigma 2 when you had Dualshock 3 motion control gimmick that you could make the breast jiggle (best way to use motion controls).

Ayane been helping him since NG1, so naturally his harem grow bigger for every series

Nothing wrong with having more playable characters. And of course there's no problem with just playing Ryu.
    The Rare Character cycle

    1. lose to a rare character
    2. learn MU in training mode
    3. lose to rare character again because it's been months since you've last seen them and you forgot the MU
Sonic Colors being remastered for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One? that's...both odd and interesting

Never played unleashed, or colors, but I keep hearing those are the "good" boost sonic games, which to me will be interesting cause frankly I hate boost sonic, but my only references for boost games are Rush Adventure, Generations, and Forces

I don't hate Boost Sonic that much but it's polarizing, that's for sure. It's entertaining because of how cinematic and creative the environments can get, but at the same time it's heavily criticized for basically being "press and hold a button to win", which I totally get lol.

Also, funny you mention SRA, because I felt like the Rush trilogy had the best implementation of the boost style gameplay!

Unleashed was amazing in my eyes (even with all the glaring flaws) and deserved better review scores because to me, Sonic Team put their entire foot in that game! On the other hand, I hate Colors and think it's the most "white bread" modern Sonic game ever. The gameplay and pacing is wack and the wisps added nothing to the series imo...
