  • "The fgc on Twitter must be talking about tech for the newest fighters that have rollback and amazing gameplay out there for sure" notices that most of the posts are about Melty characters not having drip and people not liking Strive after Sonic said that he isn't enjoying the game right now "Uhhhh...."
PS3's can be quite bothersome to deal with since they have many issues. My older console keeps turning itself off after turning it on and it does this for like 2-3 hours straight. The new one that I've got from Germany (used ofc but decent quality) either has issues with the HDMI port or ith the HDMI cable itself, as there are white lines that start flickering+the screen freezes out of nowhere.
Even if I don't necessarily play fighting games for their offline content anymore, there are some games that would nicely benefit from them imo. Imagine Tekken 7 having an "extra treasure battle" mode where you're able to use the boss characters and you can rank them up to TGO. It would add some nice replayability to it, something that it lacks quite a lot.
I wonder if NGMC's success (btw, what was the reception for the collection, because I haven't paid much attention to it, was it positive, negative, were sales ok or better/worse than expected?) or the lack of it is going to be the deciding factor for KT to think or to abandon thoughts about letting TN make a DOA collection.

Ok-ish numbers, not really very impressive. What surprised me are GG Strive's numbers:

    [PS4] Guilty Gear: Strive (Arc System Works, 06/11/21) – 1,852 (13,574) (No PS5 in Top 30...?)

I don't know why I thought that Strive would be a bit more popular than that...

Especially interesting considering that ArcSys just celebrated (on Twitter) that they've sold 500K units of Strive worldwide. Now I'm even more curious about the Steam vs PS4/5 sales for it.
Its nice to take a break from fighting games, that being said, I can't wait to get back to grinding them during my second half of my vacation, among other single player games.
An old PS2 game that could've benefitted a lot from patches and dlc's if there would've been updates to games back then would've been Jak 3. Game is good, don't get me wrong but I feel that it misses a couple of things that would've made it superior to Jak 2, hell, even to Precursor Legacy, like a spot that acts like a maze + tough platforming where you have to use all of your acquired skills many times, old and new.
....and some people were hoping that Sol would have a Dragon Install by the time Arc released Strive. Good thing that he doesn't have it, otherwise he'd be sending health bars to the shadow realm. If he would've activated DI in round 1 and he would've gotten a hit on his opponent, then the game should've just gave the Sol player the w for round 2 as well.
Thought about the way SE set up the events for a potential FFX-3. Instead of the novel it would've been better if they just somehow set us up to venture outside of Spira in order to save Tidus permanently instead of us potentially having to go through Sin again, repeating the same thing that we did in FFX.

That would be pretty cool, though I think that SE wasn't really that satisfied with FFX-2's reception, especially at the time.

Yeah, iirc the reception of the game was ok but disappointing compared to X's reception, which the novel made 10x worse storywise (I think that the reception to it was just as bad too), that's why I highly doubt that there's going to be a X-3, maybe a good couple of years later but imo they have to forget about "2.5" or just say that they pranked us with it and it isn't canon.
There is a chance that VF5US will sooner or later come to Xbox, Switch and more importantly, PC. I do hope that in the near future Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will come to these consoles and PC/Steam as well, that would be another good fighting game that would benefit a lot from it not being only on 7th gen consoles.

As for who would be my main, if Kasumi would be part of the base roster or dlc later down the line, then I'd probably main her, if not then I'd be maining Sho if he'd be playable.

From the ign article vf5us is a ps4 exclusive.

There were a few tweets made about Steam, Switch and Xbox logos left in the codes of VF5US's site, so they either decided that it might not be worth putting it on these consoles and PC or 5US won't be staying as an exclusive on PS4 for long, if this "leak" will end up being true.
If Aria/Jack-O ends up being a dlc character in Strive and she's going to receive major gameplay changes that'll make her interesting and fun, then GGST might be the 2nd game that'll make me switch from a main I've been playing ever since I've gotten into a FG series, in a way it'd be ironic too, the first game that made me change mains was Blazblue, another ArcSys game.
No rollback unfortunately but what the hell, its free with PS Plus and its a great game, everyone who hasn't played VF5 or any VF game for that matter should pick it up and at the very least try it out for a couple of days.
I wish that lobbies in fighting games had an option to go into practice mode instead of spectating a match. Once the players are done I'd get a pop-up notification that it's my turn to play, this way I wouldn't have to leave or close a lobby just to remind myself of the main tools and moves that x character that I haven't played in a long time has at disposal and reminding myself the scenarios in which to use them.
Interesting, there is a chance that Square and TN are not done working on projects together if the rumors about FF Origins are proven to be true in a couple of weeks/months. From the look of things it'd be an action focused FF game, probably something like Nioh or Ninja Gaiden, either way an Alpha demo is rumored to be coming this summer so we'll find out sooner or later whether this'll be a thing or not.
Well, I've been thinking of trying out Honkai in order to play the character that resembles the Unknown God the most but with Keqing and Fischl coming to HI3 soon, I may have to start playing it this weekend.

@Brute Since Honkai is closer to something like DMC or Ninja Gaiden in terms of gameplay from what I've heard and from the few character trailers I've seen, it doesn't surprise me that you like it better than Genshin, there is a chance that I'll be feeling the same way about the 2 games after trying HI3 out.

tried out Honkai once years ago, it wasn't bad, being able to play a high speed character action game with one hand was an interesting experience but it didn't stick, but with this collab i guess it's the perfect time to hop back in, but Kequing and Fishcl? not muh favorites but I'll deal with it

Fischl is one of my favorite characters in Genshin, so that helps a lot. Wonder if Keqing in Honkai is going to feel somewhat similar to playing Vergil in a DMC game, probably not but either way it'll be nice, a lot of characters in Genshin I feel are limited by the way the game plays, imagine Childe in a game that plays like DMC or Bayo with his Delusion acting like a DT of sorts.
Striving to make the online experience better for players all around the world now with more online tournaments and events than before would help fighting games out in the long run since majority of the players who play these games very rarely go to offline tournaments, still, most delay-based netcodes these days are better than what way older games like SCIV or MKvDC had, now those games had terrible netcodes.

Yes. This generation, a huge focus for fighting game developers should be to optimize the online experience. I'm not just talking about implementing Rollback netcode, I also mean improving the online experience (Think: SCV's Global Colloseo, DOA4's lobbies). For the FG genre to grow, developers need to put out a product deserving of more players.

Indeed. it needs to be appealing both for the casual and for the competitive players of a game. ArcSys games (prior to Strive) have great lobbies along with imo great gameplay, if something like Blazblue Central Fiction or Tag would receive the rollback treatment, then the amount of players playing the game online would skyrocket.

Maybe not the way GGXX's did but there would be a lot more players playing the games for sure.
It would be nice to create some Genshin content in the future but I just don't know what type of videos I'd like to make for it that'd feel somewhat original, since there are all sorts of videos regarding the game on YT, guides, stream compilations, meme videos, challenge videos, you name it. Guess I'll have to figure out later down the line.
